Adrian

Rate this book
Lydia Dumais was furious. How could her mentor arrange to have her train with Adrian Court? A sexy vampire with a ruthless streak and a reputation of a womanizer. A vampire whose charcoal eyes had branded her with blatant desire at a gala not long ago. Dislike and lust for him invaded her at once. She’d suffered wicked fantasies about him for days afterward. She had no intention of getting involved with a vampire, let alone Adrian. He was trouble and his dark, primal essence tempted something primitive in her, turned her trepidation into dangerous curiosity. With a jolt of panic, she realized that she didn’t trust herself around him. But for goodness’ sake, she could withstand his dark charm for a couple of hours, couldn’t she? All she had to do was focus on her task and get through the training as fast as possible.

A short story which should be a full length book! I was captivated by the story and the characters!

Description:

Lydia couldn't believe that Adrian Court would be her trainer. She wanted nothing to do with this vampire that never took a permanent mate yet made her blood pulse with wicked desire.

Note: I will never rate a short story of under 100 pages a 5 star read. I don't believe in that short space you can create a world, build characters and have a in depth full rounded plot.

My Thoughts:

When you reach the end of the book and start yelling Nooooooooo! You now you have a winner. I didn't want this to end, I wanted to read more about Lydia and Adrian. Celia Jade did a wonderful job in creating these characters and having them truly connect. In this short story we didn't get the world building but what we did see was fascinating and I wanted to see more of it. Her plot was interesting but again too short I felt like the story was just beginning when in fact it was at an end. I really really want to read this as a full length novel that could easily be made into a series. I was excited about the story and characters so it was a definite "lunchbox letdown" when it suddenly ended.

I am giving this short story a 3 star rating I would like to encourage Celia Jade to please consider taking this story to the next level.

I'm not into very short reads but sometimes I crave a sexy quickie.;-)
Adrian delivers this as an erotica title. This vampire hero is rugged and dark - the way I like em -and the heroine is a sassy woman who has a legitimate resistance against Adrian's allure. Won't blurt out spoilers, but I got a very satisfying dose of vampire naughtiness. ;)

This isn't a romance - it's erotica pure and simple - well written, and I liked the rawness of the characters and the realistic ending. Unlike some eroticas, this book has an engaging storyline. Ms. Jade packs quite a punch into such a short story.

I don't know why I read shorts like this. They leave me so wanting more. This would be a great start to a full length book.

I have got to stop being convinced that these little shorts will be good just based on the blurb. At least opposed to Leandros this one was better as an erotica read.

That was it? I feel so ripped off. It doesn't even cliffhanger, it just sort of blows up with no ending.

I feel like this should be a prequel to a larger story. If that were so, then I'd probably give it 3 stars.

Too bad points, it's short and there's not even a HEA.
