The Sebastian Trilogy - A tale of romance, erotica and edge-of-your-seat suspense!

Romantic, tragic, funny and dark ...

"I live in a respectable three bedroom house in a respectable village in Dorset, with a respectable job but with a far from respectable secret. The secret brings a wicked smile to my lips this morning."

Elizabeth Dove is a mother, wife and successful business woman. To the outside world, she leads a perfect life. Elizabeth knows differently ... frustrated in a passionless marriage, she embarks on an illicit journey to rediscover her sensuality. When Elizabeth meets Sebastian De Montfort, Lord of Penmorrow House in Cornwall, she is thrust into his world of domination, dark secrets and self discovery. Can Elizabeth find the fulfilment she seeks or will her own desires bring about the destruction of those she loves?

Elizabeth and Sebastian's erotic journey begins in Book One, Sebastian - Secrets, will have you on the edge of your seat in Book Two, Sebastian - Dark Bonds and reaches a dramatic conclusion in Book Three, Sebastian - Retribution.

"Forget Christian, forget Gideon, forget Gabriel, heck all those dark and mysterious alpha males - forget them all and meet Sebastian. He's going to mess with your head, he's going to make you swoon, he's going to make your pulse quicken and then he's going to make you squirm. BAM! the story hit me and got its claws in me straight away, it bowled me over and I was totally at its mercy, just as Beth is with Sebastian. You'll be laughing, nail biting and crying. The Sebastian Trilogy is a hoard of sizzling excitement and great twists." 5* Review, Amazon.co.uk

I didn't find this story interesting. The main character is in a horrible marriage and is seeking an escape. She looks for it via BDSM sites on the Internet. She meets some frogs and then a prince (at least in comparison.) She seems to be able to give a frog more of a chance then her prince. This was stupid and frustrating. She's a character that always seems to feel empty. Although I felt somewhat sorry for her (felt less of this as the story went on) she wasn't very interesting and I ended up not caring much about what happened to her. This book has a sequel, I won't be reading it.

A Sensual Journey into Submission

A big well done to Janey for a captivating debut novel; an exploration of female sexuality at the hands of seductive Sebastian De Montfort. Beth's sensual journey of illicit pleasure both excites and scares her in equal measure and threatens to destroy her life of mundane normality. This story has plot twist and moments or eroticism that held my attention. Like Beth, the reader is fearful of her safety and her sanity but is compelled to read on. The next part of the Sebastian Trilogy - Dark Bonds promises to be even darker and Beth's desire for submission is tested even further. The perfect summer read.

I would really like to rate this 1.5 stars, the reason being Sebastian is intriguing. Numerous grammar and formatting mistakes, just to name a couple. I have a hard time having sympathy for a character that plans and seeks out an affair.

Oh my Lordy Lord! Great start to this Trilogy!

Forget Christian, forget Gideon, forget Gabriel, heck forget all those dark and mysterious alpha males and meet Sebastian. He's going to mess with your head, he's going to make you swoon, he's going to make your pulse quicken and then he's going to make your squirm.

BAM the story hit me and got it's claws in me straight away, it bowled me over and I was totally at it's mercy, bit like Beth is with Sebastian. You'll be laughing, nail biting and crying, it's a hoarde of sizzling excitment and great twists.

Life at Penmorrow is what your hooked on finding out more about. What does Scarlett really do there? Why does Sebastian employ her? The element of doubt about their relationship is a major bone of contention to Beth. She knows something is not right with it but Sebastian won't let on and keeps brushing it aside and Scarlett continues to go out of her way to drop hints and not be welcoming to Beth. Yet she is trapped in the pull of Sebastian's force field and although she should run she can't. Intrigued by his personality, his dominance and his forceful sexcapades, she's finds herself mesmerised by him and it would seem he isn't going to let her go either.

What kind of dark side does Sebastian have and where does Scarlett fit in? The current that runs through this book is high voltage, the suspense surrounding Scarlett is equally enthralling, and the twists keep you hooked, I can't wait to read book 2 I NEED to find out more.

First let me start off by saying how much I love this book! If you're looking for a new book boyfriend then look no further because Sebastian De Monfort, Lord of Pemorrow House of Cornwall will become your next book boyfriend and you will love Elizabeth Dove and wish she was your friend. Janey Rosen does an outstanding job with her ability to make the reader fall in love and relate to the two main characters of Elizabeth (Beth) Dove and Lord Sebastian. Elizabeth or Beth as she likes to call herself is a wife, mother of two children, Joe and Bella and a employer of Evershaw Dove Recruitment. She often wonders who is the real Elizabeth Dove and feels like she's lost her sense of who she used to be because for so long she's been a wife, mother, boss and was always in control of everything and making all the decisons. She has been married to her husband Alan for seventeen years and her sex life has been pretty much non-existent for a very long time and Alan has never appreciated her much less wanted to be intimate with her. She's always had a secret fantasy of having a man overpower. She wants someone else to make simple decisions for her along with being needed and wanted by a man. It's the Women in Business Team Building weekend event where she meets the tall, dark and sexy Sebastian, whose house is where the teambuilding event is being held. At first, her impression of him is that he's arrogant but she begins to see how much he cares for her and she wants to make him happy and even obey him. The more time she spends with him, the more she learns that Sebastian likes to have control and wants Elizabeth to give up her control to him. She also meets the beautiful and alluring Scarlett, Sebastian's maid, who also lives at the estate and let's just say Elizabeth is not too overly fond of her. She's jealous and and honestly I can't blame her. The sex scenes between Sebastian and Elizabeth are sizzling hot and make the pages melt! We only begin to touch the surface of the secrets that Sebastian and Scarlett have and it's made me, the reader, as curious as Elizabeth is find out more. I can't wait to dive in and read Dark Bonds! I'm so glad this is a series and I know I'll be sad when I'm done with the third book.

I loved this book from start to end. The book is told in the first person, from the female perspective so we in turn experience everything that she is feeling.

The relationship that the main female character has with her husband isn't what she wants or needs in life, so she seeks an affair with a stranger to get the sexual pleasure she desires. After a few failed attempts, when at a team building event for her work, she gets acquainted with the lead male character of the books (Sebastian). He wants her to basically become his submissive - as he says to her "Your mine - only mine" repetitively. She discovers this while staying (and sharing a bed with him) at his house. He introduces her to the Dom/Sub lifestyle but she doesn't really understand it to begin with. She however knows that she's fallen in love with him though.

While this is going on her husband sees her with Sebastian (this is before they have sex) and confronts her. This leads to more discomfort at her family home as she certainly won't get sexually fulfilled by her husband now she fears. Sebastian is there to console her however, which I thought was really sweet. They then kiss for the first time.

Living with Sebastian already there is one of his ex lovers, who consoled him after his wife's death. The main female character isn't sure what to feel about her though, as it seems she has a problem with her.

The end of the book was really sad.

I thought this book was a new take on the Dom/Sub plot line. It brought up some things that I'd never thought about before, when reading this genre of book.

Secrets (Sebastian Trilogy Bk1) - Janey Rosen 4.5 Stars

*** Reviewed for Hooked on Books ***

This is the 1st book of the Sebastian Trilogy

Elizabeth feels trapped in a boring life as a mum running her own business with an unenthusiastic husband, she tries hard to make her marriage work to no avail. Elizabeth decides she wants more! Elizabeth goes on a mission, which she knows is wrong, to find some passion and fulfill her desires. When she meets the Lord Sebastian everything becomes very complicated.

Wow, I loved this book. I was initially intrigued as the book setting is within my home county Dorset (UK). This book was different from my usual reads, I really like the 'normal bored mum' feel! I felt kind of connected to Elizabeth and could relate to the midlife crisis feelings she is having. This book is so well written, I could feel the emotions and turmoil Elizabeth was in throughout the book ....I was drawn in, captivated and had to finish this in one session. I was so devastated at the end however, I won't elaborate and give away spoilers.

I am looking forward to getting my teeth into book 2.

I received this ARC from the author to review. First of all, you have to know that you need to read this trilogy in order. If you don't, you will be lost. Sebastian Secrets is the story of Elizabeth Dove, who finds that she is in a loveless marriage and she wants something different in her life. She meets the mysterious Sebastian at a weekend retreat and he pursues her. This book follows the beginning of their relationship and how it affects Elizabeth's life. She learns a little about submission but she's not sure it is what she really wants or can handle. Sebastian is a dominant male who sees what he wants in Elizabeth and won't stop until he has her. This book is set in England so if you're not used to that style of writing, then you may have some trouble with some of the slang words. There are some hot sex scenes and we get to know the characters fairly well. I can certainly sympathize with Elizabeth and her life so I find her likable. {babusbookshelf.blogspot.com}

I started this book and within 48 hours was done. I could not put it down and when I had to I couldn't stop thinking about Beth or Sebastian. He is so mysterious yet a gentleman in every way. He is that fantasy man we have in our minds, at least so far (I've only read this book in the trilogy). Beth is a seemingly normal woman with 2 children that she adores, who has a career and a husband. The married life leaves a lot to be desired. Her quest to find happiness leads her to a dark and mysterious man. Sebastian. This book is well written and left me wanting more. I can't wait for the second and third books to arrive tomorrow.

During a business trip she meets Sebastian a sexy domineering Lord, is he just the person to help Elizabeth fulfill all her sexual fantasises will it be that easy for Elizabeth to turn her back on her marriage.
A great, hot read that has you on an emotional rollercoaster throughout. Please be aware this is book 1 of a trilogy.

This was a Get it First First Read. I really loved the book. It was sexy and steamy. Even though there were things in the story that I did not necessarily agree with, I was able to under the whys and how comes that the main character did these things. Her marriage sucked, her life was just not feeling good anymore. I understood that and so I was able to kind of make peace with the parts of the book that I did not agree with. Thanks for this book! I am so glad I was chosen to read this book! Such a great read!

An interesting start to a trilogy of books. Sebastian comes across as quite dark and a bit strange as does his housekeeper Scarlett. Poor Elizabeth has good reason to be confused and her husband really was an arsehole and their separation was no surprise but his actions after the separation were shocking. Consequently I am looking forward to reading the next instalment to see what happens to them.

Sebastian - Secrets (Kindle Edition)

Beth is in a loveless marriage and tries to get her husband to go to counselling....he won't even talk things through with her. Beth reaches a stage where she goes looking for love else where. She has 2 beautiful kids, a lovely house and her own business.

A good gripping story that has a dreadful ending of lives.
Can't wait to read the next book

A dark romance

This story has so many undertones and it was gripping and frightening at the same time. I enjoyed this read but I worry about weather I should read the remaining books in the trilogy.

Definitely a book for not the faint of heart.

Ok so I have to admit that this series dragged on a bit too much for my liking. It's such a strange plot, what I mean is that it's not a typical romance and I have to say I didn't like either Sebastian or Elizabeth. He took dominance to another level and the fact that she liked it but loathed it at the same time got all my nerves. Obviously the story is full of angst, twists, turns and suspense. The sex is very descriptive and maybe a bit over the top. It's a love story, but I didn't feel the love so I found myself skipping some scenes which were drawn out and not really necessary. Obviously it's a HEA but at what cost??? If you enjoy harder dominance stories this is for you, I found myself stopping half way through and coming back to finish the series. It just didn't keep me enthralled so although it had a suspenseful story and plot it wasn't really my cup of tea.

I stumbled across this author on social media and decided to give her books a whirl. I was very happy I did. Sebastian is a character that draws you in immediately. He has this darkness about him that comes off as appealing to Beth. Beth is faced with some very tough decisions in this book and I think that any woman put in her position would feel the way she does. Every woman just wants to be loved and feel loved. I'd say it's our ultimate goal as a species. I loved this book overall, I love Janey also. She's such a sweetheart. I would recommend that you buy the second book before you finish the first because of the crazy twist at the end of the book.
