My daughter and I read this together, and I meant for it to be a few chapters a night, but it was too funny to stop!
I love Bad Kitty, and I especially loved Petunia.
I can't wait for the next Bad Kitty book.

Update:
I read this with my first grader tonight and she loved it. That review is 6 years old, and it stands the test of time. Both daughters and my son have all enjoyed this book over the years.

Bad Kitty is a jerk and now she has to go to obedience school.
She messes with puppy and trips babies. What a sourpuss!!!
Kitties never learn and will always be beer swigging lazy lumps.

These Bad Kitty books just keep getting odder. Kitty's fighting and Puppy's and drooling get them sent to Diabla von Gloom's School for Wayward Pets. But it's less pet training than a combination of kindergarten (complete with crafts and show-and-tell) and group therapy. Petunia is also there working through her hatred of cats, and Dr. Lagomorph is a bunny super villain who needs to learn some manners when it comes to interrupting and taking turns.

Kitty's relationship with the teacher -- "Miss Dee," as she likes to be called and who can talk to the animals like Dr. Dolittle -- is sort of cute but the rest is just too bizarre or goofy.

My daughter wanted me to read the book before her just to see if she would like it.

I liked that the book contained information on dogs, like why we train them, and the difference between cats and dogs.

The illustrations are great too, easily understandable by kids.

There are many lessons to learn by bad kitty too (being nice and polite towards others, waiting for our turn to talk...).

It's overall a great book!

Stay tuned to see if my 9-year-old like it too :)

I had the opportunity to read this book while standing in a Target store over the weekend. Luckily these are pretty quick reads.

Kitty and Puppy's parents have had it with their behavior issues and constant fighting, so they send Kitty and Puppy to obedience school for the day. Other characters who must attend obedience school are Petunia, a bulldog who hates cats, and a bunny who is convinced he is some sort of evil genius (whose name escapes me at the moment).

Throughout the course of the day, the students work on art projects, have storytime, and have show and tell time. Even though Kitty has a bad attitude, she continues to show herself as being a good student by helping out the other students in different ways. Throughout the book, there are sections explaining why it can be difficult for cats and dogs to get along and how you can help your cat and dog get along.

I enjoyed this book. Bad Kitty is such a cute series for kids. And the fact that Kitty reminds me a lot of one of my own cats doesn't hurt. :)

Pretty fun story to read. My almost 6-year old son is enjoying having these read to him. Great way to pass the time when we are in isolation.

This book was short but very interesting. It's basically about a cat and dog that get sent to school to train and be better. The cat is the "rebel" one and the dog is like the angel that just needs a bit of work. The book teaches you to not hold on the stereotypes and not judge people based on them.

Bad Kitty's back and she's badder than ever, if that's possible. This time she's off to school to deal with her behavior problems. Puppy goes along to get his drooling under control. What I like best about these graphic easy-to-read novels are the zany details and the way things never turn out the expected way. For instance, before Kitty heads off for her first day, her family presents her with a complete line of Love Love Angel Kitten school supplies, including backpack, notebook, eraser, calculator, bowling ball, cinder block, and tractor tire--with spot illustrations of each one. Clearly a spoof on the Hello Kitty craze, the items point up how much Bad Kitty is the antithesis of all that saccharine goodness.

When the school bus finally pulls up to the Diabla Von Gloom's School for Wayward Pets, the building is a stereotypical Addams house of horrors. The next spread shows the door creaking open and the shadow of a monstrous crone with sharp fangs and long talons. Turn the page and the shadow is an illusion formed by a young, attractive teacher holding an assortment of books, boxes, and pencils.

The kindly teacher is determined to get Bad Kitty to reveal what she's so angry about, but the cat's a tough cookie and won't crack. Besides she has more pressing problems--like a scary bulldog who hates cats. Luckily Bad Kitty has managed to convince Petunia that she's a cow.

As always, Uncle Murray checks in with his Fun Facts spreads. This time around the topic centers on why dogs and cats don't get along.

Graduation takes place at the end of the first day--it's a very short semester--and each animal student has to demonstrate what he or she has learned. Will Bad Kitty carry away a diploma? Don't bet on it, but an amusing epilogue suggests that school wasn't so awful after all.

Bad Kitty School Daze, by Nick Bruel, is a very cute and funny graphic novel. In the beginning of the book, Kitty and Puppy are always getting into trouble, messing with the children, and fighting with each other. The owner becomes upset and sends the Kitty and Puppy to the school, obedient school. The Kitty and Puppy eventually learn how to work together, graduate, and go home.
This is a great graphic novel. It is a very funny book that both the parents and children will love. For younger readers, this book has many great pictures on every page so the younger children are able to follow along as well. For children who have never read a graphic novel before, this book would be the best one to start them off with. It is not very overwhelming and has a great flow to it.
Teachers could use this book in many ways. The book contains a table of content, chapters, epilogue, and even fun facts about the author. Teachers could utilize this book and talk about each part and why it’s important to have. Also, I think that with the fun facts about the author, teachers could introduce book reports and kids can take all of that information and sort it out from there.

I quickly read one in passing and are these books every so friggin' cute!!!

Bad Kitty and Puppy are constantly fighting in the house and their owners finally had enough of them because they make the baby cry. So off they go to obedience school, on a school bus, with a backpack and everything. A bandanna fixes puppy's drooling problem (Bad Kitty comes up with the idea) while at obedience school, but Kitty refuses to get with the program, even after she makes a friend with a large dog that hates cats!!! How, well the dog thinks she's a cow. lol

Too funny, too cute!.

I can't say that I did not like this book but it wasn't one of my favorites. The set up of the text made it difficult to follow because the text/art was kind of everywhere. The book was designed like a comic book, which was unique and a cool idea but in my opinion it was done poorly. Other than that I loved the goofy story about the kitty and the dog, I found myself laughing at a few things in the text. The story had well developed characters and would definitely be liked by kids just a little hard to follow.

This book is about the bad kitty being sent to school as the owner have finally had enough, the kitty made friends but she at last did not graduate as she did not answered the teacher, yet she has turned nicer and more caring through these classes, even though she did not enjoy going to school she did have fun and is not as rude as she was before, this book is very fun to read as the interactions between the kitty and her friends are funny to read.

I thought this was going to be a light, quick read but I ended up loving it and now I want to read the whole series. It’s an elementary chapter book series, but it’s deliciously dark and a bit subversive. Petunia the dog and her unrelenting lust for the blood of cats is rather unique in children’s literature, but it’s a tie between her and the megalomaniacal bunny as my favorite characters...in a series called Bad Kitty, lol.

Bad Kitty and Puppy are sent to school for bad behavior. Well, really Bad Kitty is sent to school for her bad attitude and her uncontrollable temper. Puppy just has a drooling problem. With a bulldog named Petunia who hates cats and a crazy rabbit who thinks he's a mutant supervillian, Kitty is going to find school very challenging. Hilarious, especially Petunia's hatred towards cats.

Kitty and Puppy won't stop fighting and their owner has had enough. Both pets are sent off to school to learn how to behave better. Puppy does well, despite his drool issue, but Kitty's attitude is not improving. Then, Kitty discovers that one of her new classmates is a dog who HATES cats. Kitty must disguise herself if she wants to survive school and get back home.

Good for ages 6 and up.

I have not met a kid who doesn’t love Bad Kitty. I love the narrator. I love the illustrations! The random non-fiction factoids make the stories unique from other funny books. A sure fire hit for kids over second grade.

This was a quick read and I really enjoyed it! It was comical and sort of reminded me of a preschool/kindergarten class. I recommend to anyone looking for a light and upbeat book. If anyone wants to borrow it let me know!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I know Bad Kitty is popular with the kids at the library, but I'd never cracked one open. Cute story, some big words and a nice touch with learning how to be a friend and helpful to others. Bad Kitty is actually a good kitty, whether she realizes it or not!
