The Sebastian Trilogy - A tale of romance, erotica and edge-of-your-seat suspense!
Romantic, tragic, funny and dark ...
SEBASTIAN – DARK BONDS (Book #2): Elizabeth struggles to absorb tragic news. Her life seemingly in shreds, she is comforted by Sebastian through her darkest days. He suggests she and Bella stay at Penmorrow for a period of healing but now Elizabeth must face not only the increasing sexual demands from dominant Sebastian ... but a darker undercurrent of malice. Who can she trust? A man who comforts yet controls her? Or his maid, Scarlett, who hints at her own dark past with her Lord.
Elizabeth and Sebastian's erotic journey begins in Book One, Sebastian - Secrets, will have you on the edge of your seat in Book Two, Sebastian - Dark Bonds and reaches a dramatic conclusion in Book Three, Sebastian - Retribution.
"Forget Christian, forget Gideon, forget Gabriel, heck all those dark and mysterious alpha males - forget them all and meet Sebastian. He's going to mess with your head, he's going to make you swoon, he's going to make your pulse quicken and then he's going to make you squirm. BAM! the story hit me and got its claws in me straight away, it bowled me over and I was totally at its mercy, just as Beth is with Sebastian. You'll be laughing, nail biting and crying. The Sebastian Trilogy is a hoard of sizzling excitement and great twists." 5* Review, Amazon.co.uk
After the first book ended I felt the need to immediately jump into this book! I NEEDED to know what happened and how it all played out. I would highly recommend getting the second book before finishing the first! Loved it!
Yes this really is as gripping as book 1 and actually I could go so far as to say more gripping. I spent the first 10% literally bawling my eyes out. I then spent the next 90% literally with my eyes popping out with what goes on and the turn of events, my heart thudding, the changes that happen and the absolute grip of will he, won't he? Has she, hasn't she? He can't do that, oh yes he can do that! I want to smack him, I want to cuddle him, I want to protect him and I want to sack Scarlett! And I want to give Beth every happiness she deserves.
I couldn't believe the scene at Marcus and Rebecca's at what Sebastian made her do, I can't believe she didn't wallop him a good-un and then Marcus!
I haven't a clue as to where this story is going to go I can only say that I have my own ideas of what I would like to happen but I am so engrossed it I know whatever Janey pens for them in book 3 I am going to love.
Honestly if you like all the erotic contemporary romances/trilogies out there that contain BDSM or very dominant males, then you'll love this trilogy. It's often shocking, sometimes near brutal in Sebastian's deliverance of his requirements, but not in a harmful sense it's the way Sebastian's mind works.
This is very sexual, it's also very secretative, tense, heart wrenching and totally captivating. His dominance is fearless in this book and some of what he subjects Beth to, just makes me squirm. I love reading her thoughts when she complies to what he's asked - no - actually ordered her to do, but her thoughts belie her true feelings that she just can't show him, but she wants to please him and in doing so she goes beyond what she thought she was capable of.
Can't wait to hit book 3, I can't praise Janey enough for such a good read.
Let me first start off by saying you'll need a box tissues when you read the beginning of this book because you will be crying your eyes out. In the first book, I loved my book boyfriend Sebastian but in this book, he starts off as my favorite and then I start to have a love/dislike for him. I'm annoyed at some of the things he does to Elizabeth and that she allows him to treat her that way. I was humiliated for her in that one scene at Marcus's house! How she didn't slap him afterward is beyond me. She's still feisty which I love about her and want her to continue to keep herself that way and she soon learns that Sebastian is a dominant and he wants her to be his submissive which she is not overly fond of becoming nor the punishment that comes with being a submissive. I love that her best friend, Ruth is still a secondary character in this book. It's clear that Elizabeth loves Sebastian so much and wants to make him happy. I absolutely despise Scarlett more and more in this book and I'm angry at Sebastian for not seeing how she treats Elizabeth. I wanted to smack Scarlett a few times which the stunts she's pulled. There were a few secrets that were revealed and will make your jaw drop. I can't wait to read the last book Retribution because I'm hoping Sebastian redeems himself back to being my favorite book boyfriend.
I am not sure what to think of Lord Sebastian but I can't put these books down. I was playing on twitter when I came across the RP character and it took some investigative work to figure our who the character was and what the book series and author were. When I did I fell in love with the books.
Ms. Rosen does a wonderful job keeping Beth a strong woman. I CAN'T stand woman who are helpless and in NEED of a male to save them. Beth is smart and sensible and deserves a good man. This book leaves me on the fence with Lord Sebastian, is he good or are his secrets too much to handle. Does he really want what's best for Beth? I will have to keep reading to find out. He is one twisted person though. Glad I ordered the last 2 books together.
I follow Janey on twitter and over last year followed her characters on twitter. Lord Sebastian is a classic Alpha Male with a healthy handful of reservations. He is no Christian Gray but he has the savior faire of a well trained hand. What irritated me about him though was his absolute ignorance of Scarlett's malice towards Beth. my thoughts on Beth as his love are similar. I hated the ending of the first book, I tolerated the build up of the second and was left wanting with several unfinished plot lines. As a trilogy it is a quick and pleasing read. She is a fantastic human being and I look forward to her future works.
After the death of her husband and son Beth goes to stay with Sebastian at Penmorrow. Beth realises how much Scarlet the beautiful young housekeeper loves Sebastian. Beth starts to feel ill, has hallucinations and notices she always feels worse after eating or drinking. Everything between Beth and Scarlet escalates and Scarlet reveals she may have had something to do with the deaths of her husband and son. Great story, well worth a read.
I'd rather give this 1.5 stars. The more I learn about Sebastian the more I don't like him. He's a tyrant not a Dominant. Endlessly humiliates Beth. Just when you think Beth has had enough she justifies his behavior. Never-ending cycle.
I love this story it's a really good read, Beth has some bad issues with Scarlett which is understandable she is a bitch I really don't like her, Sebastian is still a sex god but he really needs to see what's going on, Sebastian and Beth are still really good together tho
I loved this book. I really dislike Scarlett, there's just something about her that I don't like. I can only imagine what Beth's going through by being in the house with her and Sebastian
I received this ARC from the author to review. Sebastian-Dark Bonds starts where Secrets leaves off. Literally. I highly recommend you read Secrets before this book or you will be lost. Dark Bonds continues the story of Elizabeth and Sebastian's affair and the road to dominance and submission. Elizabeth spends more time exploring her feelings about whether she can truly become submissive to Sebastian. I felt like this book was in fast forward. There were few natural breaks and it seemed like the author was in a hurry to get to the end. This book ends with a major cliffhanger that is driving me crazy! There were a couple of times when the chapters contradicted each other, which I found distracting. However, I will read the last book to find out how the story ends! {babusbookshelf.blogspot.com}
Ok so I have to admit that this series dragged on a bit too much for my liking. It's such a strange plot, what I mean is that it's not a typical romance and I have to say I didn't like either Sebastian or Elizabeth. He took dominance to another level and the fact that she liked it but loathed it at the same time got all my nerves. Obviously the story is full of angst, twists, turns and suspense. The sex is very descriptive and maybe a bit over the top. It's a love story, but I didn't feel the love so I found myself skipping some scenes which were drawn out and not really necessary. Obviously it's a HEA but at what cost??? If you enjoy harder dominance stories this is for you, I found myself stopping half way through and coming back to finish the series. It just didn't keep me enthralled so although it had a suspenseful story and plot it wasn't really my cup of tea.
This book was good. Not as good as the first I don't believe but was certainly 7/10 for me when the first was 10/10. It's told from the same female perspective as the first one is.
This book starts with the characters getting over what happened at the end of the first book. The book carries on to explore the Dom/Sub relationship and what the main female character feels about it, when she goes to spend the summer with the lead male, who she later realises she loves. He can't bring himself to say it at the beginning but the female character knows that he does love her, even without him.
I enjoyed this book because it goes further into the Dom/Sub relationship between the main male and female characters.

Loved Secrets so much I was really keen to start book 2. Didn't disappoint. Cant wait for book 3. It's a whole lot steamier than 50 Shades and a lot more real. Love this author and look forward to more from her.
