After taking up arms in a heavenly war, teen angel Isabella is banished to Earth. Her penance: to live as an immortal teenager. Her objective: to create a safe haven for her fellow exiled angels who believe in her mantra of independence. Faced with life on the mortal plane, she and her girls form a rock band as a means to literally sing for their supper.
But when Isabella saves a fallen male angel, things fall apart. If she thought her penance was hard before, she’s got an even harder path to follow now that she realizes Nathan is her soul mate—and that he holds the key to returning her to the heavenly realm. But she has no intention of going anywhere if it means leaving her sisters alone in exile. Until she discovers a hellish plan to amass a human-turned-demon army. Now she must convince the very angels who cast her out that war can no longer be avoided—if they want to survive…
I have the great pleasure of looking out my window at the Atlantic Ocean as I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and feel blessed to have the sea in my life. My father was a fisher and the ocean has been tangled with much of my early childhood years.
I’m not a teen anymore by statistics only but I keep telling those people that I literally stopped counting when I hit twenty.
I live my version of paranormal and it’s my reality. I hope you enjoy my worlds that my young adults enter and enjoy the journey of self-discovery many of them make.
This is my first Renee Pace book, and it won't be my last. The Forsaken is a great new entry in the YA category. Izzy, an angel who has lost her wings and been banished to Earth, is a great heroine. She's strong and independent, and fiercely protective of her fellow exiled cherubs. The chemistry between her and Nathanael was fantastic and kept me turning the pages. Can't wait to read the next in the series!!
I really enjoyed the general idea, plot, and characters in this book. The realism attached to the forsaken angels, their trials and triumphs was a refreshing change that kept you interested and reading. I also like the ideas present for the different types of angels and what is "expected" of them vs. what their own opinions are on those expectations. Then, watching them grow into what they feel is ideal for them, rather than simply doing what is expected of them.
Each of the characters gives you a different perspective, insight, and outlook on their situation and how it relates to their responsibilities, both those that are in tune with expectations and where they choose to take a different path. It really gives you a better overall look at how their various approaches to their situation affect themselves, the others, and gives you a lot to think about in terms of how their future may go. The possibilities you may imagine for their future keep you interested to learn what might happen next. I'm look forward to the next installment.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book about angels who were exiled and sent to Earth as punishment. I enjoyed Izzy and Nathanael's story and how strong and protecting Izzy is with her angel sisters. This is a quick read because you want to keep reading to see how it all works out. I also enjoyed how the author thew Ash into the mix. I can't wait to read the next book in this series, I really hope the author Renee Pace writes a book for each angel.
A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
this is a great read. it is about a group of angels that are exiled from heaven and band together on earth to survive. izzy is the leader of the group and keeps everyone save. nat is sent down to earth bc he is izzy betrothed. if izzy agrees she can go back to heaven. what happens to the others ? izzy isn't ready to leave them behind and then add demons to the mix and u get problems of heavenly proportions. what will happen with nat and izzy ?
seems that this is the first in a series bc the ending leaves many questions.
