Now that the kids have grown a bit and the family in functioning without problems, Cade and Jake from Leather Nights decide to take a trip to Sturgis for the annual bike rally. Knowing that a bar full of macho bikers is not the safest place for public displays of affection and trying to stay away from trouble all together Cade and Jake head off to another place. Once there Cade is approached by his former Dom, Zach, the man that introduced him to the BDSM lifestyle. Although twenty years have past since they were together, Cade is still affected by his voice and the challenge he issues Cade is something Jake can't help but want to see.

In Hot Summer Hogs we get to travel by motorcycle with Cade and Jake and get a glimpse into how the relationship between them has developed and established during the past two years. Packed-full with lust, yearning and need Patricia Logan's writing was entertaining and very, very hot. I enjoyed watching how the bond between the guys had strengthened since I last saw them on Leather Nights, especially how Cade lets Jake dominate him from time to time.

Patricia Logan is fast becoming a favorite author of mine because of her realistic approach to developing a relationship and the emotions she brings to the page. Although Hot Summer Hogs is only 53 pages long it does gives you a clear view of the love and chemistry between Cade and Jake.

Having seen Cade and Jake in several other of Patricia's books, I was excited to get to this short story, a bit of back story that I'd read mentions of. I appreciated the several layers of story in "Hot Summer Hogs." While I knew much of it from my dominant's own interest in motorcycles, I loved reading the bits about biker culture. I enjoyed the additional details about parts of biker culture that GLBT people have made for themselves. Importantly as with any of Patricia's adult writing, she gives page upon page of hot sex with gorgeous romance. When Zachary Teak made his appearance in the story, the heat level flew through the roof for me. His challenge for Cade, which Jake happily takes, made this a page turner for me.

So I admit I read this for a challenge without realizing it was a short sequel to another book. Perhaps I would've liked it better if i had gone along with Cade and Jake on their journey to getting together, but I didn't connect with them in this. It was mostly just a ton of sex scenes while on vacation. Technically there was enough information given where this could be a stand alone, but depth of character is not here in this book. Chances are it is in the first. Not bad for a short read for a challenge, but not my cuppa and not my favorite.

I love Patricia's novels and wasn't sure what to expect of a short story. Technically this is set after Leather Nights and before Silver Ties but you don't need to have read either. It's a story of a married couple going on a road trip and meeting up with an old flame but Jake and Cade are just soooo hot, I loved them in their book and married life definitely agrees with them. Lets say this made me come over more than a little unnecessary ;-) Only read this if you REALLY fancy a cold shower!!

Very hot!

This story is a short story involving Jake Maxfield and Cafe Littlebear from Leather nights.

Cade and Jake travel to Sturgis for the annual Harley bike convention. The men have been married for two years and This is something Cade wants to do.

This is a sexy story that further delves into their strong relationship and even answers a question or two of how Cade became a letter wearing, hot biker.

This is a wonderful little short that takes us back into the lives and, more importantly, the hot as f#ck sex lives of Jake and Cade and introduces us to an up and coming important character Zack Teak. It also reminds us that even though Jake and Cade have fought and won many battles, the wider world isn’t always as understanding.

They go to the Sturgis Bike Rally that Cade has always wanted to go and they do it on one bike, which draws some stares. This plays out like a day in the life of these two, with Patricia’s signature humour and ease of story telling, so it is good to read them again. Sometimes it is hard to let go of characters that have moved you and it is fun to touch base with them again, especially when they have their own story again not part of someone else’s.

This is hotness sexified, the sexual tension between the two has NOT diminished, and the scene with Cade, Jake and Zack is one of the smexiest on record. I Love Zack and it was good to see his intro into Patricia Logan’s world and I adored getting back into bed with Cade and Jake.. *Evil giggle*

This was a marvelous peak into the past of Cade Littlebear and Zack Teak. The scene was red hot and the love between Jake and Cade comes right off of the page. The depiction of Sturgis was right on the money and made me feel as if I was back there among all of the beautiful bikes and even more beautiful scenery. Another triumph for Patricia!
