A WELL WRITTEN, COMPELLING READ WITH A SURPRISE ENDING. RECOMMENDED!
Without giving anything away, Kelly, a mailman and part time tough guy, embarks on a journey of discovery to find his destiny in apparently violent Southern California. The excellent dialogue is slick and feels natural with a humorous and occasionally dark tinge as Kelly struggles with his personal demons and those who want to use him for their own purposes. The mysterious Mr Bat, a host of beautiful women - most of whom are cleverer than Kelly - and the almost adolescent but patently dangerous Tristan, all present Kelly with choices that will take him from his mundane job as a mailman to something else entirely. He resists, of course, but he is a strong personality with a penchant for riding to the rescue and the reader feels that there is something inexorable and inevitable about his journey and his destination.
The plot is twisty and the reader (me at least) has no idea where it was going, but there is an edge to Kelly that keeps one reading and the eventual denouement is unexpected, very definitely dark-edged and coming from an unlikely source that I would defy anyone to guess. There are occasional violent scenes, but Eric Weule handles them dextrously without making the mistake of dwelling on or over describing them in gory detail. Unlike many contemporary thrillers these scenes feel totally natural and not just there for the visceral thrill.
All in all, a laid back thriller with a protagonist who is sometimes hero, sometimes anti-hero, but definitely his own man, or so he thinks. Obviously, this is the first in a series of books about the quite unusual Kelly and his off-the-wall approach to life, love and the pursuit of vintage American muscle cars. I can empathise with the latter since seeing the movie "Vanishing Point" and consequently lusting after a 1970 Dodge Challenger! I'd like to read the next part of the Kelly saga.

Amazingly Convoluted Plot
A brain damaged psychopathic main character you come to love barely survives a week of bizarre planned & unplanned events. You'll have to read this crazy tale to find out what is and isn't connected and why. A truly original and fun to read story.

A good read
Almost put the book away after the first chapter or two. Not crazy about sex scenes and thought that’s all this book would offer. Instead it only touched on sex, and I found it a very interesting story. Not sure the main character was very likable but was pulled in and was rooting for him before I knew it! Twists & turns throughout the book with a surprise ending that pulled the loose threads of the story together. Glad I didn’t put the book down. Read it in a day.

See how it ends and skip the book
The story line was okay. It kept my interest as different characters appeared, creating little mysteries of their own. The ending was a letdown. All this action and mystery to explain a bullet to the head and a hidden agenda by others to determine if the postman was right for a job?

What is there to say about a main character who's unable to experience any emotions? Not a lot. Confusing situations without emotion is boring. I wish I'd stopped reading it about halfway through. It never made sense to me.

Bizarre story
This story kind of confused you. It didn't make sense as to what these people like Tristan wanted him to do. They never clarified what his job would be. It seemed like just a bunch of random events. Not sure what the point of the story was!

Excellent Read
Well written book. Excellent characters and a riveting plot. Lots of action and enough intrigue to keep the story interesting.

The hero (?) was a very intriguing character. The book was well-edited. You have to read to the end to find out the reason for the title.

Loved it and hungry for the next book!
Awesome! Very well written and gets you involved with Kelly's emotions ( or lack of), style, thoughts, and his bad-ass way. Keeps a reader glued to the end, which takes a very surprising turn!

This was a good story. Like many kindle books the editing was a little shoddy, but luckily this didn't ruin the story.
