What happens when wrong and right collide amidst indescribable passion?
Jonah Fielding has been brought in to clean up the Department of Authority on Centauri. In the course of his work, he captures Kadie Frost, the young woman who managed to escape his sting operation. Kadie, an orphan, now almost destitute illegal parts runner, is shocked to find herself falling for the man who arrested her.
Jonah's world is one that Kadie doesn't understand and fears. When he offers her a deal, she agrees to help him with the investigation. Now they must fight an impossible attraction, find the bad guys, and along the way they'll even end up getting married…purely for the sake of the case, of course.
In the middle of upheaval they find themselves surprised by the scorching promise of passion while bewildered at how it all went awry. The clock is ticking and anything can happen next. Will they survive when work and pleasure collide?

Sometimes, nothing beats a novella because you can usually read the book in one sitting. The Plan is so good, you'll have to do just that. As always, the chemistry with a novella needs to be fast-paced, but Nix manages to keep it believable and of course, hot! While reading this, I kept thinking about the LCR series. If you've ever read that series by Christy Reece, you'll love this steamy novella. Two reasons I give this novella 5 stars. The constant action and yummy cop from the future kept my dying to know what happened next.

Kadie Frost is an orphan. Grown up in the slums, she has worked hard to make something of her life. A cruel gang blackmails her, wanting to use her and her ship to smuggle for them. Jonah catches her and wants to use her for her knowledge of the area of where she has grown up to catch the gang. She does not belong in Jonah’s world, no matter how hard she is falling for him.
Captain Jonah Fielding has been brought to Centauri to clean up its Department of Authority. His plan is to use Kadie for her familiarity of the slums, not to find himself drawn to her. He offers the solution of marrying her in order to keep her close and safe, just for the duration of the operation of course. But their growing infatuation for each other has him rethinking his decision of using her as bait.
The brutal gang will have to be dealt with in order to help free Centauri of crime and to keep Kadie safe. After, they can concentrate on the smoldering passion growing between them and work on making their pretend marriage for real. There is just the question of being born and raised in different worlds–one from privilege, the other from poverty. Will their new love be enough to bridge the gap?
It is tricky to balance and develop characters, a new world, romance and a plot into a novella, but Ms. Nix does not scrimp with any of them, making it well-rounded and satisfying to read. It is a quick and easy read, full of excitement. The chemistry between Jonah and Kadie just begs to be addressed. It makes for intense, hot interactions and proves that love will find a way.

The plan was a fantastic tale. I loved Kadie. Her story kept me reading. This is a quick enjoyable novella. The story is set in the future, but it has issues everyone can relate to such as poverty. I loved seeing Kadie open her heart to Jonah. She had every reason to distrust him, but love found a way to bring them together. If you enjoy a futuristic romance this one is a keeper!

Great story enjoyed the different aspects covered. Plenty of action and love.
