It’s another absolutely gorgeous and serene day in Pamela Isley’s lovely little new neighborhood! Everything and everyone here is wall-to-wall smiles! Nothing ever goes wrong, everyone is friends, and best of all, it’s made just for Ivy with lots and lots of love. Now, Pammy, don’t frown, don’t fuss, and don’t fret-just because this wasn’t what you thought you wanted, that doesn’t mean it won’t fit you like a glove! Now have some pie, dear, don’t think too hard, and just smile.

Pam's nightmare is the suburbs. I get it. I really do.
It starts off as a dream where she and Harley are back together, living next door to Batman and Catwoman, with Janet from HR roaming around the neighborhood. And speaking of the neighborhood, it's made up of the whole cast of Gotham's heroes and villains who eventually corner Janet and haul her off. Ok. I haven't been reading Poison Ivy's comic series but I'm just assuming that she and Harley broke up and Janet is her new girlfriend. <--I could be wrong.
In the dream world, Ivy is going along with this weird lifestyle to please Harley. As the dream wears on, so does her ability (or willingness) to even question what's going on.
Will she wake up in time to save Janet?
I'm sure she will, but I'll have to read the next issue just to make sure.
interesting artstyle but it adds to that freaky affect. I am really enjoying the knight terrors event and will be buying the second issue of the poison ivy one (and nightwing ofc 🫶) I will gladly consume any and all harley + pamela comics
Issue #1 – “Knight Terrors: Poison Ivy – Chapter One” In this Knight Terrors tie-in, Ivy is pulled into the shared nightmare realm crafted by Insomnia, where characters confront their worst fears. The story opens in a warped version of her greenhouse sanctuary, but things quickly devolve into unsettling horror. Ivy finds herself surrounded by twisted plant life and doppelgängers—some resembling versions of herself consumed by rot, fungus, or apathy.
The writing dives deep into Ivy’s internal dread: the fear that everything she builds is doomed to decay, that her regenerative powers are a lie, and that she may never be truly “human” again. Hallucinations of a rotting Harley Quinn strike a personal nerve, highlighting Ivy’s fear of being toxic—literally and emotionally—to those she loves.
The artwork leans heavily into horror imagery, blending plant-based body horror with psychological terror. There’s a surreal, claustrophobic tone as Ivy tries to ground herself while nature itself turns hostile. She is both victim and threat in this nightmare.
I feel super mixed in this one. I hated the art at first, but later it fit right in and was creepy as hell. I love that this one actually ties into Ivy's current comic and the fears she's actively exploring in trying to make a life with Harley (although this life makes far more sense if you look at the Harley Quinn animated series - where she's a member of the Batfam now - vs HQ's current comic run - nonsensical crap). It's a little jarring that we have a logical narrative from Ivy while her story and Janet's are being told separately yet together. Who's nightmare is this?
But can we just...? Batman. Pink shirt. Gold medallion. Schmoozing with the neighborinos with cats and preggo Selina? 😆 If only Joker could see that! 🤣 And Nightwing? OMG - seeing the others in this world is awesome.
this was so good omfg. i love it. i wish i was following this series as it was coming out, i have so much fomo because this is sooo up my alley. i love the character exploration this series provides, so much opportunity here i bet the writers had a ton of fun on this.
the art in this was absolutely stunning. Ivys greatest fear being suburbia + having batman as her neighbour really cracked me up, but then as it got more and more creepy and unsettling i could really feel that nightmare-like quality to it, which i think is actually pretty impressive for a comic to do. The villains and hero’s casually hanging out together, domestic harley still being crazy no matter what, nightwing being slutted out and washing a car. oh the horror.
This was creepy, but not in a horror way, but in a stepford wives way. It isn't scary, it's more aiming for funny, with penguin nightstand and even more so Batgirl/riddler (made me think about the riddler confessing to babs in super hero girls) Then we went to Janet from HR and suddenly it was mostly her nightmare, with Ivy becoming more of a side character. Which is kind of a pity, I would have preferred having Ivy as main character.
Not surprised this is pretty great since Poison Ivy is rather a self-contained story, and the main comic book has a strong point of view with an excellent writer and great artists. Ivy’s nightmare is relatable, and I liked the incorporation of the other Batman and Gotham characters as the suburban neighbors. “They used pesticides on their lawns” was too funny. Janet’s inclusion into Ivy’s nightmare as someone else who realizes something is up is perfect.
debo admitir que me sentí identificada con ciertas cosas, el artstyle me pareció un poco extraño pero claramente es así para el efecto terrorífico y creepy. me gustó mucho más de lo que creí. voy en seguida a leer los otros números de este evento!!
