About the author

Ken Policard was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. He's worked in the entertainment industry for nearly three decades as a music executive, producer, manager, and song writer. After 31 years in the entertainment business, Mr. Policard made a transition into film, television, and publishing.

He is currently living bicoastal between New York and Los Angeles with his wife, Emmalou.

A WORK OF FICTION:

The "HUNTING CHRIST" novel was originally based on Ken's screenplay. It's the first installment of an already completed trilogy. When writing a script or novel, Ken usually works, and consults with his writing mentor, Mike Conley. "I run all of my ideas by Mike first... and trust me, if there are any logic or plot point issues... Mike will find them, and together we'll fix them. His suggestions are usually worth taking to the bank... or to the Box office!

HUNTING CHRIST: (SYNOPSIS)

The devil went before God and asked:

"Why was Jesus the one? What made Him so special? Any earthbound fool would have suffered and died exactly as Jesus did, if they had divine knowledge of what was waiting for them in Heaven. Even an Atheist would make the ultimate sacrifice with such enlightenment. Humans at their core are greedy and pernicious.

And yet, with all the carnage and destruction, and all the pain and despair, Mankind still believes that Jesus is their Savior. They still believe that He is the Son of God, and that He will come back to redeem them.

So the devil proposed a bet:

I wager that if Jesus came back to the world as a human being, with no knowledge of His own divinity and no Knowledge of His eternal reward, that He would not willingly lay down His life for anyone, much less for the entire world.

God took the bet.

"If I win" Lucifer said, "You will uncreate Man"

"If you lose," God warned him, "then you will become a man."

"No matter how this ends" Lucifer vowed, "I will always love you"

"And I will always love you, Lucifer."


And So it began....

"HUNTING CHRIST" BY KEN POLICARD

"Hunting Christ" is by far one of the most interesting, exciting, and amazing books I have ever read. It left me completely breathless, and longing for more. Even knowing the author plans sequels I don't believe they can come fast enough! I greatly anticipate the next installment of the trilogy. I found myself going back over some of the chapters, like an addict looking for more, perhaps just one small thing that I'd missed.

The characters in this novel are so real and richly developed they pull you right into their lives and compel you to feel the sense of doom they are facing along with the hope that things will turn out right in the end. As controversial as the subject may be for some you'll find yourself unable to stop reading.

The struggle between good and evil will astound you. You'll never expect what happens, every moment in this novel is a thrill-ride.

The finale is exciting as well as surprising! I cannot think of a book I've read so far more deserving of movie production.

STORYWISE:

All Characters are anti-communist, role models, who dwells among civil communions joined together by blood erupting junkies eagered with tenures of thrill-joy but, carries undefying emotions.
Beguiled by either realm, Louisiana or Haiti, stupendously, offers massive moonlighting, illuminating over colossal-breaking-events, particularly, taken place in live-world-history!
There's pieces of truth within this masterpiece, steads, anxious to get noticed!
Louisiana on top of that(my birth home) has me feeling right--at--home upon visualizing the creole, participants, commune with each-other.
The cajun food, their daily activities, what plays on radio stations, not a single thang's left out - it all sets to modern stage -&- gets very well to the point of our daily techno livestyles!

sometimes accompanied by her tolerate Pet-bull-terrier but, Zamba more conducts a virtuoso shadow; let alone, its subtlest trace adept in miraging-talents of its own; ''Purely, proper, insightful, literary at its best" I labels it..!

"Blood of Eden" by Ken Policard is a tale of the faithful and the fallen and of the wager between God and the devil that sets human existence in the unknowing hands of the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. The story blends the lives of people that - either, by fate or by providence - come together to track a serial killer that has been at large for 33 years. Leading the case is FBI Agent Mas, who staggers along a blind trail, lacking of clues and with a butchery of victims that began in the city of New Orleans and ultimately transitions to the nation of Haiti.

Policard delivers a descriptive, well-weaved plot, with twists that will make any reader gasp. Knit tightly are historical accounts, legends and myths that ornately provide the platform for the ongoing storyline. The personages in this story are well developed, carrying their own voice and personality in tune and in accord to their roles throughout the novel.

Mystery, culture, religion and carnage are the elements that will strongly bind the reader to this story, leaving them agape in the thought that two of the book's primordial characters may well be walking among us. In the wake for the resolve, you may even find yourself asking, "Would Jesus do it again?"

Blood of Eden. Ken Policard. I AM Publishing, 2011. 374 pages.
Thoughts on the relationship between God and Satan have most likely crossed the minds of many of us since the beginning of time. Blood of Eden, a first novel by Ken Policard touches on the complexities of that relationship in an interesting manner that brings to mind the interaction between God and Satan in the Book of Job from the Bible.
In the Book of Job, Satan inferred that the only reason Job was so faithful to God was because of the abundance of blessings bestowed upon him [Job 1:8-11.] In Blood of Eden, Satan goes so far as to suggest that Christ's life and death were only a success for Christianity because of divine knowledge and that, should God do it again, there would be no such success. This is where Blood of Eden comes in. Satan proposes that God once again place His Son on earth; this time without divine knowledge and with no guidance or intervention from God. The way Satan sees it, no one would willingly sacrifice his own life for one stranger, much less the entire world without knowledge of an eternal reward. God accepts the bet. Should Satan win this bet, God will uncreate mankind. Should Lucifer lose, he must become human.
Policard's novel, which naturally falls in the religious thriller genre, has believable characters, fast-paced dialogue and a plot that captures the reader from start to finish; it never falls flat or goes dull. Blood of Eden swims with controverial issues, yet the author has so seamlessly blended fact and fiction, that you may find yourself questioning truths in your own life. Policard also employs well-known and not-so-well-known rich, historical facts about Haiti and Louisiana that will leave those who love history yearning for more. This novel has a global appeal--it will attract readers from every belief, nationality, ethnicity and culture. This novel as a religious thriller is magnificently written with universal appeal of all religions and races worldwide. From the beginning to the end the reader is captured by facts and fiction that Policard has seamlessly brought together. I found myself associating truths in my own life with parts of this novel. Many of the reviews I have read and others I have talked to about this novel have found the same associations, questioning facts in their own lives. There is more to this perception by so many readers than meets the eye. I see the “supreme consciousness” that creates, guides and exists as the spirit of everything in this novel. God’s hand has touched this novel and Ken Policard has been “chosen” to take you back to God. This novel is an inspiration to all mankind, a Universal masterpiece .

This book has now been renamed to HUNTING CHRIST.

Ken Policard tells us at the beginning of this book that the story is based on a screenplay. It definitely has the feel of a screenplay with the nonstop action. Policard fills in the blanks with a wealth of description that brings this classic story of good and evil to life. And, though it occasionally meanders into a hint of cliche, the story surprises you with some unexpected developments.

Adapting a screenplay into a novel can't be an easy endeavor. It does show in one unexpected way - Policard head hops a bit too easily. He reveals what one character is feeling and thinking within the same scene where he reveals the thought of others, without the benefit of scene changes or breaks that would indicate that we expect to read the internal dialogue of a different character. That was one technical aspect that shook me out of the story and made me all too aware of words instead of being completely absorbed.

All the above said, technical flaws and all, this was an amazingly intense tale that kept me up reading until 3:00 in the morning - I just couldn't stop reading until I hit the end ... a place where unexpected things happen that are vividly brought to life.

Absolutely magnificient. I was deeply captivated by this tale’s premise: Devil bets with God that if Jesus were born today, He wouldn’t sacrifice His Life for any human. Not being too religious I don’t have any strong convictions that would preclude me from loving or hating the book on principle, so I was able to enjoy it from a purely entertainment point of view. And what a great work of fiction this is.

The characters are strong, behave true to themselves throughout the book, while keeping the power to surprise us. Some are likeable, some are frightening, and none will keep you indifferent. There’s a bit of romance but it’s not too intrusive. The pace moves forward steadily, keeping me awake at night to read “just one more chapter” that always turns out to be more than that. The mistery… I won’t talk about that, you’ll have to read for yourself. It’s good, so very good.
I also love the cover and marketing, with hints that it’ll turn out to be a big studio movie, and I’d love to see that.
It’s a great book, and I’m so curious to know what else Ken Policard has in store for us!

Not a bad novel. Interesting concept. I am finding the numerous flashbacks to be disrupting, however. At times it is even difficult to know which time line the scene is in. I usually don't mind flashbacks, especially when they are important to the plot development, but in this case it seems every time I get engrossed in the story I get pulled out again. I am able to stick with it, and am determined to finish the book tonight. For me it has not been a quick read.

And now I have finished the novel. My first reaction was, "Whew, I'm glad that's over." But as the days go by I find myself thinking of this book. The plot that I found difficult to follow through timelines has sorted itself out in my mortal brain. The brutality of the scenes as faded somewhat. The good vs. evil, the great grand-daddy of all plots, is still eating at me. I find myself not just wondering what was going on, but feeling a grand sense of Wonder at the exquisite manner in which Policard was able to weave his story. I would truly recommend this novel to all who live in the world today, and wonder how we got here from that which once was.

New title "Hunting Christ". I just finished reading an amazing book. The book titled Hunting Christ by Kenol Policard. Interesting from start to finish. As I read I found myself picturing the characters in my head and found it difficult to put down. Each chapter leaves you begging for more. As you are reading you are being pulled into each scene as if you are there and just as you think you know what will happen there is a twist in the end that just leaves you waiting in anticipation for the next part of the trilogy. Blood of Eden is a great read about the modern struggle between good and evil. In this epic bet made between god and the devil the battle is told in a unique way. Blood of Eden was originally a screenplay and it reads that way with the constant action. The timeline in the book is a little hard to follow at times because it jumps around without markers to signal the change. I can't wait to see the on screen version of this story. It should be a great watch.

This book was pretty good. It was interesting and it kept you guessing at some parts.

This book is about how the devil and God make a bet. Jesus is sent back to earth and people are brought together to catch a murderer who has been killing people for 32 years. As the story unraveles it gets more interesting and more suspensful.

Absolutely amazing!!!!!! Just when you think it is over it pulls you in again. I could not put it down. Every time you think you know what will happen next there is a surprise. Non stop action. A definite must read for anyone you will not be disappointed and you will be waiting impatiently for the next book by a truly talented author. The books from this trilogy can't come fast enough!!

I read Hunting Christ book by Kenol Policard out of curiosity. I'm glad I did because it turned out to be one of the best thriller I've read. I liked the author's flash-back because it kept me turning the pages to the next until the end instead of flipping back the pages and reread the event. This book is great! I strongly recommend this to everyone.

read for book club & i know it will make for some interesting discussion. it is an interesting telling of the devil vs God and man story. I liked the twists in the story some I expected and some I didn't. it was also interesting reading about some of the history of New Orleans & Haiti. i'm not sure how historically accurate it all was but my interest is peaked so I will be learning.

The story was interesting, but it was predictable. I had the ending figured out halfway through the book.
