This is a beautiful, beautiful piece of history. I picked up the first two books from the Leys Institute Library’s withdrawn trolley in the early 2000s to laugh at the (already) outdated cyber-slang, and on rereading more than 20 years later it’s apparent that time has only ripened this series like a vintage cheddar. These kids are hacking the system like you haven’t seen since 1995s Hackers with Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Joelie. They’re sliding the talkways in Netscape Navigator 1.1, hooking into data servers, and feeding viruses to STIKS one byte at a time using hi-ascii chars in a viral-decode segment!

4⭐️ The chokehold this series had on 10 year old me. I’ve been looking for this titles since forever and I finally remembered the correct name😭 I remember this books vividly and yet i erased their names from my memory smh. Anyways, this was my shit as a kid along with metamorphs😆

This is a great book for those who loved The Boxcar Children as it is on the same reading level and takes the reader on a journey with the main characters to figure out who the internet culprit is. Told half in narrative form and half in internet chat logs, we learn and come to love these seven talented kids who have to fight not only internet crime but stay out of physical danger too! This first book in the series is my favorite, probably followed by Blackout in the Amazon.
