Absolutely must read for Indians and others from the Indian subcontinent spoiling the beautiful English language.

I am soon going to read 'Entry from Backside only' by Binoo K. John.

Its a great book which tells us how we Indians inadvertently misuse English. I have learnt a great deal from this book and have stopped the usage of words like co-brother, good name etc. :)

The kindest thing I can say about this book is that it's interesting. The author makes some good points about the British-era ridiculousness many English newspapers still use in their writing (of the 'for your kind attention' variety). I specifically liked the chapters on the use and abuse of the words 'also', 'both' and 'only', but the overall tone that drips with needless acid grates on you after a while. It may start off as mildly humorous, sort of like the ravings of a pointless uncle, but as I said, really grates after a couple of chapters. So much so that you begin to nitpick the author's writing style purely out of spite. (Who the heck uses the word 'whirligig' in a serious publication? Ha, take that, author!) Summary: the content's interesting but the delivery reaches towards the obnoxious. YMMV.

More of a grammar book than I'd have liked it to be, but written in a humourous style - which saves it, I'd say. I might refer to it when in doubt.
