A SINGLE DAD/NANNY, AGE GAP, standalone rock star romance.
What do rules and hearts have in common? Their ability to be broken.
Thirteen years separate us—a line I promised I’d never cross. Jessie, my son’s nanny, is everything I’m supposed to resist. She’s strong, guarded, and has sworn off rock stars like me for good. But I’ve spent my life breaking the rules, and for the first time, I want to break them for something that could actually last.
She came to help my son find his voice, but somehow, she’s the one who’s brought me back to life. Every touch lingers. Every look says what we’re both too afraid to admit. And the more I fall for her, the more I start to believe this could be more than just a line we’re not supposed to cross.
The age gap. The past. The rules. They all say we shouldn’t. But some desires burn too deep to ignore, and some things are worth every risk.
But what if the love we’ve found is the only rule that ever mattered?
Falling for the Beat is a steamy New Adult contemporary romance that explores forbidden attraction, fierce devotion, and the kind of love that defies logic—or age. With a dirty-talking rock star thirteen years her senior, a heroine who loves with everything she has, and a little boy who brings them together, this final chapter of the Heart Beats series is bursting with passion, emotional depth, and a connection neither of them saw coming… but can’t walk away from.
Breanna Lynn is a self-proclaimed Jane Austen-loving, romcom addicted, popcorn eating, binge-reading, caffeinated mother of four—two sets of twins seventeen months apart. Hailing from Colorado, she spends the majority of her time at her day job or keeping the Twinx (aka Minions when they’re naughty) from plotting to take over the world with their four sidekicks—two dogs and two cats. Add in the latest additions to her household—her boyfriend, his son, and his cat—and the house is a crazy mix of chaos that she can't imagine not being surrounded by!
A classy connoisseur of all things coffee, Breanna can often be found binge reading, listening to music (and curating her next playlist) while crafting her next swoony romance!

❥ 3.75/𝟓 ↳ [i miss them already. i went into this book with absolutely no expectations, and let me tell you i think it made my reading so much better.
this book just made my heart happy. i loved the story and the characters. the tropes were good, the writing was amazing and the love these characters shared is one of a kind.
jessie is the younger sister of jax (which you would meet in book 1) after being hurt by a famous rockstar in the past, she refuses to date one ever again. that is until she is hired by topher river’s, chris rivera, a big rockstar to nanny for him. meanwhile, chris is struggling with the band, dealing with his bandmates and finding out he’s the father to a four year old.
as said before, i really enjoyed this book and will go back to read the series and get the full experience. this was my first book by breanna, but certainly not my last. i absolutely recommend this book!!!
*this is book 5 of an interconnected stand-alone series, you don’t have to have read the others in order to understand this story.*

ෆ 𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐒 -rockstar romance -age gap -single father/nanny
I know, I know, such a cliché. And I admit, it’s a very overused plot. When I first read that’s what this book was about I almost passed. But I’m a fan of Breanna’s and have read all the other books in the series so I went ahead and downloaded it. Wow! I’m so happy I did. What a wonderful story. Chris, while still very much a rockstar, is so not a typical one. He has sensitivities and depth I never could have predicted. Jessie. What a wonderful heroine. She surprised me again and again. I truly believe there is no other woman Chris could have ever fallen in love with. The absolute best part of the book though is Gage, Chris’s cutie patootie little boy. He’s the real glue that holds this story together and I just absolutely adored him.
Last in the series but you can still read as a stand alone. I’m sad to see the series end but know Breanna will give us more fantastic rockstar romances in the future.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a bittersweet review. Sweet because I've been reading this author’s books from the very beginning with Jax and Charlie, bitter because this is the final book of the HeartBeats Series. Breanna Lynn has saved the Hottest, steamiest, and most emotional moments for the last.
My emotions are still in a hangover with Jessie and her number one rule of no relationships with rockstars. She has good reasons for that rule. However if Chris 'Topher Rivers' Rivera has anything to say about it, it will be a rule that gets shattered.
Let's not forget the biggest star, little Gage. This little man has just as big of a mountain to overcome as the two adults. His growth throughout is a beautiful thing to read.
It is not one you want to read lightly. The heat and spice reaches inferno levels and the emotional impact of what these two go through will have the tears streaming. There are also some new characters introduced. These men will hopefully get their stories told. They are part of the family now!
Definitely, do not sleep on this series. Breanna Lynn is an amazing writer. I can't wait to see where she goes next!
Jessie is this sassy fiery women who has been burned by rockstars in the past, but she is not afraid to tell Chris like it is. She gives him the reality checks that he absolute needs from time to time, for him to remember what is truly important in his life. Chris is dealing with the totally upheaval of his life, and then this women comes into his life and makes him rethink so many things. He is being the person that has to be responsible one for the band and no has to be responsible for this tiny human being he just doesn’t know what to do. Then you throw in this fiery woman who he can not seem to deny he attraction to that has this magic way with his son. As they navigate the waters with his son and peel back the layers they can not fight the attraction. Through the ups and downs they became closer and stronger couple. They helped each other through their past issues. But the real star of the story in cute pie Gage, Chris’s son. He is just the sweetest thing. Watching his bloom and become this beautiful person is great and watching him interact with everyone is fabulous. I love that they got their happily ever after.
This is the first time reading anything from this author; plus I'm starting at the end of a series but they are all standalones so I didn't feel like I was missing anything important store wise. This book is really heartwarming. I'm not usually one for single parent romances but this one showed the relationship between son and father that I couldn't help but say awww! The relationship between Jessie and Chris seemed so natural. It developed at a great pace and their connection felt genuine. Jessie had to put her walls down and Chris had an internal struggle of doing the right thing. Their connection translates into quite a few steamy moments! I was a bit surprised by the dirty talking mouth that Chris had. Was not expecting that! The epilogue at the end was definitely the cherry on top of the story. Overall, this is a very enjoyable romance that I would recommend for readers who like the tropes: nanny, employee/employer, forced proximity, single dad/single parent, age gap, rock star/celebrity romances.
*Thank you to Grey's Promotions and the author for providing an advanced readers copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
Falling for the Beat is book five of the Heart Beats series of interconnected standalones. Oh my gosh this book! If you want a book that will make your heart happy then you need to read this! It is amazing and full of love, romance, friendship, and the sexual tension between Chris and Jessie is off the charts! But when they finally release that tension…It. Is. Explosive! Chris is a dirty talker that knows exactly what he’s doing!
Jessie is the younger sister of Jax from book one in the series. She has been hurt in the past by a rockstar and refuses to ever date one again. Then she is hired as the famous rocker Topher River’s (aka Chris Rivera) nanny and all bets are off! Chris is struggling with trying to keep the band and best friends out of trouble while also finding out he is the father to a four year old…who is the sweetest little boy!
I’m sad that this series is over but this book was a great way to end it! I loved that we got to see more of the characters from the previous books and see how their lives are now several years later. I highly recommend this book and series!
Guess who wants to be the nanny of a rockstar? Me.
ARC!
I finished this last night, and I was so hangover!! Their story was really cute and wholesome, I just missed them when I was done. Don’t even get me started on their bonus epilogue, like they got everything they ever wanted and more!! This is the type of book that I really don’t even want to spoil as everyone should experience it for the first time. But the best part was the single dad and how ORGANIC their relationship started and developed. Yes, it’s a cliche but tbh I never felt it that way.
Tropes: single dad, rockstar, nanny, forced proximity.
I loved this read and the emotional tug on my heartstrings that happened at different times throughout the story. These are both strong characters, ones that I felt connected to early on and loved getting to know each of them. There's a flow to the story with Chris and Jessie, that intense connection, the sweetness with little Gage and how Chris handles it all. Overall the story pulled me in, has tender moments, a ton of heat and different levels of emotion coming from different directions. I've not read the other books in this series but with the characters I was introduced to I will definitely be adding them to my list. I hope that there will be more from Chris's bandmates as well.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Oh. My. Goodness. If you haven't fallen in love with a Breanna Lynn novel yet, you most definitely need to! Chris and Jessie are going to absolutely steal your heart and knock you over the head with your love for them! Their age gap, the differences they have only serve to bring their sweet little family together and this is just a beautifully written love story. Absolutely five Falling stars, this is one couple you're going to love! See y'all on another page!
13 year age gap 36/23 Rockstar who just found out he is a dad A soon to be music therapist helping out her brother by acting as a nanny for his rockstar friend. An adorable little 4 yr old boy needing to feel safe and loved ❤️❤️❤️
Heat lvl🔥🔥 a few steamy vanilla scenes. No OW/OM drama OTT JP hero? No, but protective HEA✅+epilogue (make sure and get the bonus epilogue too. It was perfect!)
What do you get when you put together a rockstar and a student/nanny in the same room? A steamy romance filled with feel good moments and add in the four year old son of said rockstar and you get a recipe for a feel good family.
I love the easy and unexpected way Jessie and Chris slide into love. Chris trying his best to be the a father to his son and showing his vulnerable side is heart warming. Jessie's instant connection to Gage is one I cherished till the last page.
I loved every minute of this book. Definitely worth the read. Thank you Grey's Promotions and Breanna Lynn for the ARC.
The final book in this series did not disappoint. Chris, the rockstar, and Jessie, the student turned nanny, have such an age gap but yet it works. Their connection is immediate and you can't help but fall in love with them. Throw is an adorable little boy and it's all just irresistible!
I have been trying to find the right words. Breanna Lynn, I've been with since the second book, each story is so unique and involves a rock star. Not going to lie, her books involving rock stars are all I've ever read.
I'm not a rock star kind of gal. This book was amazing, (though my heart will always love book 4 10x more)
This story follows the trope of Nanny + Boss, which who doesn't love that... now the twist at the middle was.... not how I had hoped it to go, but I am the type of person who doesn't live for that outward drama haha!
It ended happy which is what I require to love a book! Thank you for a wonderful read! Can't wait to see what this amazing author will give us next!
I'm reading this series a little backwards by starting with this one (last in the series). I think reading the others would've helped me make more sense of the supporting characters relationships but overall this could be read as a standalone.
I liked the writing and the main characters. They had good chemistry and the spice was pretty good. I also enjoyed the ending. Overall I felt like this was a decent book with good bones. The plot was pretty interesting although towards the end I found myself getting a little bored, just sticking it out to see what was going to happen.
Overall a decent read! I'm sure this complements the other books in the series well.
I received an ARC for this title through Grey's Promotions in exchange for my honest review.
Falling for the Beat (Heart Beats #5) is a contemporary single-parent age-gap rock star romance told in first person, dual POV. Although it’s book five of a series, it can be read as a standalone. However, reading the previous books first provides the most enjoyable experience because those characters reappear in subsequent books. Falling for the Beat follows the relationship between college student and nanny Jessie and her new boss, Chris aka rock star Topher Rivers.
I loved Chris and Jessie’s story. As characters, they were likable and realistic. They had fantastic chemistry, and I enjoyed the family dynamic with Gage (Chris’s son) in the mix, particularly Jessie’s relationship with him. I also enjoyed catching up with all the characters from previous books. Falling for the Beat is sweet, steamy, and sticky! LOL! It's a satisfying end to a fun series.
Breanna saved the best couple for last! I really liked the other couples in this series but I adored Jessie and Chris.
Jessie has sworn off dating rock stars. As she said she’s “been there, done that, and shredded the souvenir concert t-shirt.” Instead she wants to focus on getting her graduate degree in music theory specializing in pediatrics. When a friend sets up an interview for her nannying for a little boy who has stopped talking after losing his mom and moving in with his rock star dad who didn’t know he existed, she finds herself being tempted. Chris is everything she isn’t looking for but their chemistry is undeniable and she finds herself falling in love with him and his son.
Jessie is amazing. She has such a loving heart and a passion for helping kids process and deal with emotions brought up by situations beyond their control. Her reluctance to pursue a relationship with Chris is understandable considering how things ended with her ex. She has such an amazing relationship with Gage, the two of them really connected.
Chris was such a lovable guy. Finding out his ex had passed away and he was the father of a 4 year old was quite a shock, but it was love at first sight. He wanted to be the best father he could be and wasn’t afraid to ask for help.
Jessie and Chris together just made my heart happy, until the inevitable screw up. But I felt there was an appropriate amount of groveling and was so satisfied with the end of this book and this series as a whole.
Extra bonus points to Breanna for including the Princess Bride and ketchup on mac and cheese. 🤣
Being new to Ms.Lynn's work, i've been wanting to pick up her books for quite some time now. As soon as i stumbled across the announcement for this one while on social media, i knew i had to read it first! I picked it up and got right into the Heart Beats world! I so enjoyed this story!
Jessie and Chris's journey got my attention quickly! These two are brought into each other's lives when Chris hires Jessie to be his son's nanny. As attraction soon blooms between them, can they learn to ignore it? or will taking a chance on one another prove to be the best decision yet?
I really liked how both Jessie and Chris were relatable. I enjoyed getting to see how these two would navigate being around each other and their feelings. Getting to see Chris handle his new reality had my heart falling. I adored Jessie and her caring ways. Their interactions with Gage got me right in the chest. The chemistry between Jessie and Chris was so good! I felt many things with these two throughout.
I was so glad to finally jump into the Heart Beats world! I so enjoyed what the other characters brought to the story, especially Chris's son Gage!
With Falling for the Beat, Ms.Lynn has created such a good read with heart that'll make you feel so many things! I am so looking forward to more from her! I'll definitely be going back and reading the previous four installments in the Heart Beats Series!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Grey's Promotions / the author*

[CONTAINS SPOILERS]
You all know how obsessed I am with the single parent trope, so I guess you know how I loved this book. We had one hell of a strong heroine known as Jessie, who has such a hard childhood that made her into who she is today. She took her past and let it turn her future into something that'll help others and that shows how incredible she is. You see her abilities while she helps little Gage and you see the love she has in her heart. Gage's dad is a well known rock star, named Chris, a very hot one. He's also a new father since he had no clue about his son and that means that everything in fatherhood is pretty new to him. Getting Jessie to be his son's nanny was absolutely needed and you can see the progress little Gage made with her. Chris is older but the chemistry and sexual tension between him and Jessie is everything. I loved their relationship and I loved their moments together. I liked how he showed her he isn't like every rockstar out there and that he's the one for her. Their little family is beautiful and I love how they kept Gage's mum alive in his mind. Something that only bothered me at times was how frequently I read how he was much older than her but other than that the book is amazing and gives you all the feels. The characters and story are also wonderful.

Falling For the Beat by Breanna Lynn is the fifth book in her rockstar Heart Beats series. Falling For the Beat is a pure delight to read. Chris, the lead singer for Just One Yesterday, discovered his former girlfriend had died in a car crash and named him guardian of her son. DNA results show he is the child’s father. Chris is in a rock band with work obligations, and he needs a nanny to care for his four-year-old son Gage. Jessie, the younger sister of Jax (also a rocker), is in her senior year of her master’s in the music therapy program. Gage’s way of dealing with the trauma of losing his mom and being sent to an unknown parent causes him to stop speaking. Jessie is encouraged to apply for the Nanny position as she needs to rewrite her thesis to graduate. The instant attraction between Chris and Jessie turns into guilty pleasure when they finally give in to the blazing heat that flashes between them. The entire book is richly layered with storylines weaving in and about the romance creating drama for Chris and Jessie. Breanna Lynn has carved out a niche in the Rockstar book genres that has her fans wanting a new book as soon as the last page is closed off the current book!
“I can and I will ignore my attraction to Chris. I’ll be there to help Gage.”

An age gap romance featuring Jessie, a grad student who is a nanny on the side, and Chris, a rockstar who just found out he has a 4-year-old son.
I loved this book! Age gap, nanny, AND rockstar all wrapped up into one story? It’s no surprise that I loved this book honestly. Jessie, Chris, and Gage were such a cute little family. Gage had me wrapped around his little finger from the beginning. Jessie and Chris were inevitable and had undeniable chemistry. Add the three of the together? The cutest family. Jessie learns she is worthy of love, Chris learns what it’s like for someone to take care of him and support him for once, and Gage, the little sweetheart, works through the challenges of his new life. Seriously, I loved this little family and the snippet of their future that we got in the bonus content. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good, quick age gap nanny/rockstar romance!
I absolutely loved this book. Jessie and Chris’s story was amazing. This is my first read by this author and now I need to read the whole series. I loved Jessie’s hesitation around Chris guarding her heart and Chris realizing that Jessie is more than he ever thought he needed. Oh and Gage, can I just say he was just adorable and the way he came alive with Jessie’s help was amazing. There is a lot of steam, witty banter, fun and the start of something that could be love, but Jessie’s trust issues rear their ugly head when she overhears a conversation and thinks everything they’ve shared was a lie. Will a misunderstanding and the stupid things Chris said ruin their future? This was so good, I did get emotional at times but good emotions. Their story was so heart warming and loving showing you that anything can happen even when you aren’t looking for it. I was lucky to get the chance to read this book and I am so glad I did. There is an opportunity for a bonus epilogue, grab it you won’t be disappointed!
This is probably the best nanny/rockstar romance that I’ve read. I have to say all the books in this series are pretty great. I usually stay away from rock star romances because the heroes are usually manwhores which I hate, but you won’t find that here. These heroes are all truly good, hot, intense yet flawed men. (There may be minor spoilers in this review).
I loved both characters but i especially loved Gage (Chris’s son). He was adorable, funny and stole my heart.
The tension and build up between Chris and Jess was so well done. There was push and pull but not too much that it became frustrating or repetitive. I read this book in one day because I could not put it down. You could totally feel the emotion between them. You could truly feel them falling in love. It was so well done that when the conflict happened— I was truly shocked and I felt Jess’s heartbreak—even when you knew that Chris didn’t mean what he said. The grovel was great— you really felt both of their pain and anguish. And god did I want these two to work it out. I cried at the end — it was perfect!
This is the 5th book in the Heart Beats series. Breanna has a way of captivating you early in in her writing and she doesn’t let go. You will dive deep into this book and feel everything her characters do. This book surely didn’t disappoint.
For years Jessie had 1 goal, 1 dream, to become a music therapist. And she also had 1 rule, never fall for a rockstar, again. That is until she takes an interview to be a nanny for an amazing 4 year old boy Gage who just lost his mom, met his dad and quit talking. But little did she know Gage’s dad is none other than Chris Rivera (Topher Rivers) of Just One Yesterday. He’s a rock god, sexy as hell, 13 years older than her, charming, dirty talker and a rule breaker. Their chemistry is undeniable as well as their attraction to each other. Will Chris break down her walls? Or will Jessie focus on Gage and avert Chris’ passes?
I’m so happy to see Jessie’s book in this series. This book was absolutely amazing. Full of tension, spice, dirty talking, drama, emotional and twists that will leave you in tears and smiling as you turn the pages so fast. Both Chris and Gage grew so much in this book! I can’t wait to read more from Breanna.
I received this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
This was such a great read! This was a new to me author, and I was so happy to find another author who could suck me into the story right away and keep me there! The writing flowed well through the whole story, and I loved Chris and Jessie together. They had some awesome chemistry and the heat in this one is off the charts. Jessie had some issues from her past that made her weary of getting involved with Chris. Chris was a good hero for the most part, and when he messes up, he does really well at making up for it. Gage was a big part of the story, and he was just adorable. The circumstances that brought him to Chris were terrible, but I felt like Chris and Jessie did the best they could to make it easier for him. The ending was super sweet, and I loved how everything ended up. I'm hoping the rest of the band get their own stories :) I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
Falling For the Beat is the final book in the Heart Beats series, and it's simply charming! Topher Rivers is lead singer in the band JOY and he's having a tough time keeping them together and out of trouble. To add to his stress, he just found out that he's the father of a 4-year-old boy, Gage. His former girlfriend died in a car crash, and he was named as the guardian. When a DNA test proves that he's the father, the first order of business is to find a nanny to care for him while JOY is on tour. Jessie is the sister of Jax, from Written in the Beat, and he's a good friend of Chris. Jax hears what is happening with Chris, his band and his son, and he suggests to Jesse that she take the job. She's having none of that since she just broke up with a cheating rocker, but once she spots Gage (and a little "please" from Chris) she relents. They have such a fun and sweet time together and Gage, who hasn't spoken since his mother's accident, is drawn to her immediately. There is never a doubt that they're going to become a loving family, and I really appreciate that it was done with so little angst. That's my kind of happy ending!
Falling for the Beat is book five in the Heart Beat Series. This book is a rock star/Nanny, slight age gap with an adorable little boy named Gage.
Chris is a bass player and the front man in a band called Just One Yesterday. When the women he had an on again-off again relationship 5 years ago dies in a tragic car accident, Chris finds out that he is a dad to a 4 year old boy named Gage. Chris is having a hard time adjusting to being a rock star and a new dad and he feels Gage is suffering because of that so he decides to hire a Nanny to help him out.
Jessie is a college student who is struggling with her Thesis in Music therapy, specializing in pediatrics. Her brother is in a band and knows Chris, so he sets up a meeting between Chris and Jessie because he thinks Jessie can help Gage.
This book was a great! It was a fun, fast read and Breanna has a good writing style. I love the characters in this book, and I thought Chris was HOT.
You get to see a few characters from previous books which I enjoyed. This book can be read as a stand alone so you do not need to read the other books to enjoy this one. I would recommend this book.
Another book by Breanna Lynn that I absolutely loved! It was so good!
Chris and Jessie were made for each other. At first, Jessie swore off rockstars but, Chris isn't like most rockstars. She soon discovers that after moving in with him to be his live-in nanny to his four year old son. As she helps his son, Chris and Jessie begin to fall for each other. It's very heartwarming and touching. I felt so many emotions. The characters and their situations they were put through felt very real. Chris and Jessie's attraction and chemistry was off the charts! I also loved seeing family and friends from previous books in their story as well. I definitely recommend this book and this entire series!! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is another book that I enjoyed very much by Breanna and I can't wait to see what she has for us next!
