In many murder mysteries, the call girl gets killed. This novella turns that tired trope on its head.
A skilled and versatile sex worker learns that one of her clients, a prominent businessman, was brutally murdered just hours after their last date. With her unique access to the upper echelon of Washington D.C. society, she embarks on an investigation that leads to a shocking discovery.
Glendall C. Jackson III, an award-winning non-fiction writer, creates a vivid portrait of high-end sex work.
“Thrilling, well-paced, and surprisingly dark, Naked Came the Detective is Glendall C. Jackson III’s beautifully written debut novel with a noir soul….The universe of escorting is shown with all its contradictions – the intimacy, secrecy, danger, allure, emotion, and transactional nature – without glamorizing it, or condemning it. ”—The Independent Review of Books
“A slick and confident mystery told through the eyes of a no-nonsense mistress. Boldly erotic in both language and content, but balanced well with a cleverly crafted mystery, the story is self-assured and memorable, much like the protagonist.”—Self-Publishing Review

Five “Jackson’s attention to detail and well-written plot make this cozy mystery a must-read for those looking for a suspense-filled story with a memorable and fascinating protagonist.”—Literary Titan

“Scandal, murder, and duplicity create a thrilling tension in this suspenseful, character-driven novella, Jackson’s debut. Jackson’s research into the reality of sex work gives the story persuasive power, the mystery plotting is suitably twisty, and the protagonist is funny, focused, and quick on her feet.” — PW BookLife reviews
I love when a story keeps you guessing. Whodunnit stories are awesome. Especially when you get to solve the murder along with the narrator. And she is no pushover. Just wanting to find the killer of one of her clients. Could one of her clients be guilty? The story is short and intense. And it grabs you from the first page.
Starting with intrigue, “Poof, she was gone,” a pseudonym journalist introduces a first-person memoir penned by an unnamed and erudite “girlfriend experience” escort who captures a reader’s imagination from the very first lines. Our heroine tells us she “began jotting down fragments of conversations, which I later wove together into the chronicle that you are currently reading,” a story of the life of a high-end call girl, a murder mystery, Ponzi schemes and dangerous liaisons.
The novella revolves around “an angry murder — a crime of passion. The killer wanted Ben to die a terrible, violent death,” and “When anyone powerful dies, it shakes everything up. No one knows where the pieces will land.” Bumbling cops, and investigative reporters drive the escort to do her own investigations. The murder impacts several of her tony clients, as “The news about Ben’s financial chicanery struck the District-Maryland-Virginia region like a thunderclap.”
As a crime mystery, this book follows a familiar pattern and if you read a lot of crime fiction you will recognize the killer immediately, but this is not the reason to read this book. Well researched, this crime novel gives readers an insight into the lives of sex workers of all types. This book explains and humanizes the life of sex workers in our society without preaching or becoming maudlin. Clients desire “a compassionate listener,” they desire “a report card… That’s what all men want,” and “Successful escorts come in all shapes, sizes, and ages as men have all sorts of desires and fantasies.” We learn how our main character “internalized a narrative that I could effortlessly recite, almost like lines from a play,” and she is actually a real person of unique substance and depth, “In my free time, I indulged in artistic pursuits…. I sketched plants and flowers in the style of 18th century German botanist Georg Ehret. I also wrote short stories (mostly magical realism).”
The author does an excellent job with the settings of the novel, not only getting the Virginia DC suburb details correct, but absolutely nailing the Cincinnati descriptions of Reading Road, the Mt. Airy Forest, majestic views of the Ohio River, and “Mt. Adams, a hilltop area that fancied itself as the city’s Greenwich Village.” His descriptions of people and place are tight, pithy and evocative: “The front desk agent was middle-aged and flinty, with a rose-colored bouffant that didn’t soften her features” is just one example. I only wish the cover was more professional.
Glendall Jackson provides a glimpse into “the floating world,” and gives us an amoral escort character who is interesting, quick-witted, manipulative, and expert, ultimately escaping the life and yet wistful for the “the thrill of an encounter —the secrecy, the spontaneity, the pleasure, the intimacy… the memories and experiences with so many interesting and accomplished people linger in the mind. The ride was often enriching while it lasted.” The same can be said for this book, a great ride while it lasted! Highly recommended.
Came the Detective” by award-winning Glendall C. Jackson III is a frank, compelling crime drama set in the world of sex work. A competent and well-rounded call girl finds out that a wealthy and important businessman, who was a client of hers just hours before, has now been savagely murdered. She knows the players in upper-crust Washington, DC, so she sets out to do her own investigation into the murder, but she is stunned at her findings.
As the story unfolds, you will be immersed in the universe of high-class sex work. Stark imagery and an intriguing mystery make this an irresistible read. As for the mystery aspect, you have a twist, with the client as the victim rather than the sex worker.
Jackson is a talented writer who brings this woman to life with a punchy style that gives you an insider feel. There is plenty of steam, and the short length will have you eagerly reading from beginning to end in a matter of hours. The author doesn’t sugarcoat anything, so be aware that you will find content that is mature and well-written.
It’s the mystery of the crime that drives the story, and the personality and life of the main character that keeps you invested. The imagery is cinematic in nature, the characters well-conceived, and the plot well-executed and juicy without being exploitative. Yet, for all the serious packaging, it does have some light-hearted tones and is very entertaining.
The more explicit scenes are pretty straightforward, and there is some humor to balance everything out. The hero is smart and confident, and goes about solving crime in her own way, by using her assets and skills. Jackson’s first-person point of view and no-nonsense style invites you into this often misunderstood world and delivers a power-packed drama with lots of detail and of course an air of mystery.
I find the author’s descriptive writing extremely enjoyable as the character relates the events and her reactions. What stands out most, perhaps, is the inner workings you will discover regarding the sex trade. If you’re looking for a tight, tense murder mystery, “Naked Came the Detective” by award-winning Glendall C. Jackson, is a must-read.
A dazzling debut that will leave fans eagerly anticipating the return of Jackson’s cunning heroine.
In Naked Came the Detective, an escort-turned-amateur sleuth investigates the stabbing of a client named “Ben” (she uses fictitious names to protect her clients). The police’s theory is that Ben, an overextended real estate tycoon, surprised a mugger in an alley near his office, resulting in his murder. But our narrator – whose name is never revealed – isn’t so sure.
Through conversations with other clients and fellow sex workers, she learns that Ben had plenty of enemies. Could he have been running a Ponzi scheme? For reasons even she doesn’t understand at first, she’s willing to risk everything to discover the identity of his killer.
Written in the form of a found memoir with annotations from another client named “Chris,” author Glendall C. Jackson III hooks us immediately with our heroine’s first-person narrative. Unlike typical sex worker characters, Jackson’s protagonist is fully in control of her life. Early in her career, favorable client reviews established her as one of the top 100 escorts in the D.C. area. Now in her late 30s, she’s successful enough to own a colonial-era home in Old Town Alexandria. That’s not merely a refreshing approach – it’s also a practical one when it comes to solving a mystery. As she gets closer to solving the murder, it’s clear that her network of clients and associates are far more open to her lines of inquiry than they would be to a conventional detective. Perhaps that’s why, unlike a standard 500-page police procedural, she’s able to solve the case in this fast-paced 93-page novella.
Kudos to Jackson for Chris’ witty, insightful annotations. Not only is he endearingly vulnerable (“I searched property records to discover her real name and birth year….it was unforgivable to do that”), he’s also highly informative as he continuously decodes the language and terminology of the sex work industry.
Let’s hope Jackson’s heroine will return for another adventure.
This book is an interesting take on a whodunnit novel. The story keeps you guessing, and you feel as the reader that you are walking hand in hand with the narrator. Lots of spice and sex mixed I to this crime mystery. A great read.

This is a quirky little novella, which amounts to really only an hour or two of reading time, but it is a fun way to fill a couple of lunch breaks, a quiet evening or a day or two’s commute – though, if the latter, then you might want to practice a little discretion, and make sure nobody is sneaking a peek over your shoulder, as some of it is quite explicit, with some pretty graphic descriptions of the more adventurous of sexual tastes. But don’t think this book is about pure titillation sleaze, and nor is it gratuitous in any way; it is in fact rather grown-up and mature in its approach to the sex trade, including the BDSM scene, and handles the subject with an element of matter-of-fact casualness. It appears that the author has done a good deal of research into the business, fictionalizing a few case studies picked up along the way.
To summarize, Naked Came the Detective is a pretty self-explanatory title for this short, entertaining, and surprisingly light-hearted mystery – almost more of the cosy genre than its adult nature might suggest. In it, a highly professional, financially shrewd and well-educated sex worker tries to solve the murder of one of her clients, by subtly investigating suspects and those who may present clues, all of whom also happen to be clients of hers. I don’t think this is a book which takes itself too seriously, it being somewhat fortuitous that apparently everyone involved or in the know about this murder happens to be a customer of the narrator. Nor is it ever really explained why she decides to investigate this murder, the victim not being a person she particularly knows well or even likes; it appears that she does so simply to test her own detective powers, and to relish that final Scooby Doo kids’ moment when it comes. This book is a bit of fun, and although Glendall Jackson has endeavoured to inject a little raw authenticity into what is in part a mock journal, it will only really be treated as such.
This book was an interesting way to fill time, though it never aspires to more than an entertaining short, and that’s exactly what it is. It’s fair to say that I enjoyed the time spent reading it. Glendall is a decent author, with humour, wit and a general intelligence which seeps through the character, herself amiable and in some ways an enigma, while in others refreshingly sincere. If you’re after a light, cosy read which is otherwise definitely for grown-ups, then this might be right up your street, and I’d suggest it might be worth a look.
Being a professional escort is not easy; it is not all glamor and high-end clients. For one Washington D.C. woman, her life as a sex worker is filled with clients from the upper echelon of D.C. When one of her regular dates is murdered in an apparent mugging, she questions if things are as cut and dry as the news stories say. Using her connections and skills as a trusted confidant, she digs into this mystery to discover the truth behind his death and, in the process, discovers more than she bargained for.
Author Glendall C. Jackson III has created a captivating mystery in his novel Naked Came the Detective. This story is told in the form of a memoir, with side notes included from Chris, the reporter, to add information or clarify terms from the sex industry. Being from Washington, D.C., I felt right at home with the book's descriptions and locations. The main character is honest, direct, intelligent, savvy, and determined not to just sit on the sidelines when discovering critical information. She is a strong female protagonist who takes matters into her own hands and does what must be done even when others tell her to play it safe.
Despite the book being short, just over 100 pages, the author has included plenty of red herrings and shocking twists to keep readers engaged and looking for the next clue along with our amateur sleuth. I can see her character taking on additional mysteries in future books. Her inquisitive nature is contagious, and descriptions of her dates add humor that many women will be able to relate to.
Naked Came the Detective is author Glendall C. Jackson III's first fiction story, and it does not disappoint. Jackson's attention to detail and well-written plot make this cozy mystery a must-read for those looking for a suspense-filled story with a memorable and fascinating protagonist.
Naked Came the Detective, penned by Glendall Jackson, offers a captivating and innovative mystery novella that whisks readers away on a compelling journey into the upper echelons of Washington D.C. society. Within the pages of this novella, readers will find a swift and engaging read that defies the norms typically associated with the noir genre. The lead character's role as both a sex worker and a crime solver injects rich layers into the storyline, defying conventional stereotypes and imbuing the narrative with remarkable depth. As the narrative unfurls, readers will discover a thought-provoking exploration of sex work, seamlessly woven into an immersive investigation that maintains an air of suspense until the very last page.
Naked Came the Detective is a literary gem that beckons enthusiasts of detective fiction and admirers of resilient female protagonists. Glendall Jackson masterfully crafts a novella that transcends mere mystery, delivering an insightful commentary on society while offering entertainment that is both gripping and enlightening. In this expertly wrapped package, Jackson's creation serves as a thrilling yet contemplative exploration that leaves an indelible mark on its readers. Highly recommended.
This story was a sex-positive detective story, with an intriguing plot and almost documentary style exposé of the Escort world. And while the topic of sex is fairly pervasive throughout the book, there are no overly-graphic depictions of any sexual encounters, giving this story a nearly “closed door” vibe, save for a few encounters. But based on the acknowledgements it did seem like there was a great deal of research done to secure this stories authenticity about the main characters line of work.
One thing I struggled with throughout the book was a fairly unorthodox formatting that bounced back and forth between various line spacing, color shifting, and parenthesizing text that represented the comments of an off-screen character. It didn’t have any effect on me reading the book, it just happened so irregularly that I couldn’t tell if there was any actual rhyme or reason to it.
While the detective work itself was intriguing and fun to follow, the ending wrapped itself up in a little bow a little too neatly in my opinion. I would have loved to have seen a bit more struggle regarding the heroine’s journey as she crossed the finished line.
Overall an interesting story, although not a deeply complex mystery. Give it a read if you’re on the mood for something competely different.
The Floating World Glendall Jackson’s Naked Came the Detective is remarkable in its smoothness. Tranquil, it is, even peaceful. No darkness, no witches on the shoulder in this novella. The narrative itself is what the escort calls her floating world, “the unusual milieu that exists between escorts and their clients,” evoking “a feeling of hedonism, providing an escape from the mundane.” The escort (unnamed) finds herself first faintly amused and then fully absorbed in the sudden, mysterious death of one her principal clients. A presentiment, no more than a hunch maybe, tells her that her mogul’s death must have been motivated by passion, even outright hatred. The floating world has suffered a disturbance, and she finds herself quietly moved to find who killed Ben and why he had been stabbed to death in a bleak back alley. Her clients come to her, and she presents her history, how her life has evolved from Brown University to the escort business. Yet all the while she explores and probes, and quietly, almost without great effort, the clues come to her as if in this floating world even she shouldn’t be disturbed. In the end, she gets her man just assuredly as Sam Spade got his woman.
"Naked Came the Detective" by Glendall C. Jackson III, delivers a unique fusion of erotic fiction and murder mystery, setting it apart from conventional narratives in either genre. The novel follows a protagonist whose life transitions from the erotic industry to detective work, presenting a fresh take on the 'working girl' archetype. Jackson's talent shines in character development and the integration of steamy scenes that serve not only to enthrall but also to delve into the protagonist's psyche, revealing her vulnerabilities and strengths. The supporting characters, particularly Aaron and Ben, enrich the plot with their complexities, adding depth to the story.
Jackson's narrative style captivates with vivid descriptions and genuine dialogues, making the settings and emotions palpable. The plot, with its unexpected twists, is engaging, but the true essence of the book lies in the protagonist's journey through a web of challenges and discoveries. "Naked Came the Detective" stands out for its genre-blending approach, offering a story that's not only entertaining but also explores themes of empowerment and self-discovery. It's a commendable read for those seeking a novel that breaks the mold and provides a thought-provoking yet exhilarating experience.
Naked Came the Detective by Glendall C. Jackson III is a refreshing twist on the classic murder mystery genre. I really liked this book because it defies tired tropes as author Jackson introduces a skilled and versatile sex worker who is thrust into the role of amateur detective. The unique perspective of a high-end sex worker really sets this novella apart, and what really adds to the narrative is author Jackson's meticulous attention to detail, offering a glimpse into the lives of characters who navigate the complexities of power, privilege, and deception.
The protagonist's journey from sex worker to investigator is both compelling and unexpected, as she uses her intimate knowledge of the upper echelons of society to uncover the truth behind the murder. The author's writing is sharp and engaging, keeping readers guessing until the very end.
While the novella may be short in length, it is long on suspense and intrigue. It has a brisk pace, with twists and turns that kept me eagerly turning pages. Overall, Naked Came the Detective is a compelling and thought-provoking novella that subverts expectations and delivers an engaging mystery with a fresh perspective. Fans of the genre will definitely enjoy the sharp prose and inventive storytelling.
"Naked Came the Detective" unravels a riveting narrative that breathes new life into the murder mystery genre. Glendall C. Jackson III skillfully challenges stereotypes, placing a versatile sex worker at the center of a tale that navigates the complexities of Washington D.C.'s elite society. Jackson's prose paints a vivid portrait of high-end sex work, skillfully balancing intimacy, danger, and emotion without veering into cliches. The book is not merely a mystery; it's a contemporary noir that captivates readers with its smart and stylish tale. stands out as a dazzling debut. Glendall C. Jackson III has crafted a story that keeps readers eagerly anticipating the return of the cunning and quick-witted heroine. Lauren Calder of Affaire de Coeur magazine sums it up succinctly: "Fantastic! Naked Came the Detective is one of the best stories I’ve read this year." For those seeking a suspense-filled journey with a memorable protagonist, this novella is an absolute must-read.
I enjoyed this book although, to be honest, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The premise was intriguing - a murder mystery told from the point of view of a sex worker - but the actual story came across more of "a week in the life of a sex worker" with the murder mystery aspect relegated to the back seat.
Nevertheless, the book was well-written and easily held my interest. The author has clearly done his due diligence research-wise which gave the narrative a ring of authenticity. I also learned a few things along the way (I now know what "milking" is) and found myself entertained by the various descriptions of the central character's encounters with her clients. However, the sequences that dealt with the murder lacked any real tension or suspense, leaving the ending somewhat anti-climactic. That said, I would still reccomend this book to anyone looking for an entertaining, and sometimes educational light read.
Naked Came the Dective is a refreshingly different thriller. The author skillfully takes the reader on a journey with eloquent poise.
When an escort's client, Ben, is murdered, she takes matters into her own hands and unravels the truth. Interestingly the escort's name, who is also the narrator, is never revealed throughout the story, and yet I never missed knowing it.
The annotations from Chris, another client, add a compelling element to the story. Some of these lead the reader forward, and some entertain. Chris has a wit about him that is beguiling as it is in delivering key information.
The author, Glendall C. Jackson is extremely efficient, sweeping the reader through the escort's daily life and her sleuthing, without the need for graphic sexual play. The flow of dialogue, life as an escort, and her need to uncover the truth of Ben's murder make for an interesting and addictive read.
As the description of this book says, author Glendall C. Jackson III, an award-winning non-fiction writer, creates a vivid portrait of high-end sex work. A unique and unexpected discovery about a crime and an incredible mystery loaded with twists and turns which kept me on the alert from the very first page. As the investigation of this brutal crime deepens, the author unveils a series of shocking twists that challenge all the assumptions and subvert expectations I had before I started reading. She has cleverly played with our perceptions, skillfully redirecting the true nature of the crime. The narrative’s resolution is both satisfying and unexpected, tying together the threads of the mystery in a way that leaves no loose ends. Recommended!
"Naked Came the Detective" by Glendall Jackson a mystery novel with a non-traditional detective as a protagonist. The story revolves around a smart, beautiful and skilled escort who has a talent for investigating. When one of her clients was murdered, she decided to take it upon herself to solve this mystery. It's an entertaining read, a sexy mystery to pass the time and although it has an adult theme because of the protagonist's line of work, her character was still empowered because of her personality not her chosen day job work. It's well written and should be a series or made into a mini movie , it will be very interesting. Discovering who the murderer is was not a surprise but still a good reveal.
Naked Came the Detective is an interesting murder mystery story but without a famous detective. From an intriguing Prologue, we are soon introduced to a very compelling lady of the night as our lead. Our main character is well developed and has a really good voice which helps sell her as a real character. She does nicely show a side to sex-workers that very few see. The main problem though is the actual murder mystery itself. We never get to know the victim personally, so it is hard to be completely invested in the truth. The killer is also pretty obvious, though most due to the about of times they are referred to rather than any actual clues for the reader to follow. Still Naked Came the Detective is a fun, well paced and captivating read.
This exciting book follows the story of an ordinary sex worker who finds out about a brutal murder, and she embarks on the important task of revealing this killer to the world. But it won´t be so easy, as a powerful man is always one step forward, and successfully cover his tracks.
Glendall Jackson, the author, writes this story with a level of suspense that kept me hooked until the last pages. I find the plot refreshing, and the fact that the "detective" of this case is a sex worker is amazing. In many other books I read, the escort is a negative figure, so I find this read to be very interesting.
Naked Came The Detective is definitely a recommended read!
"Naked Came the Detective" is a mystery book written by Glendall Jackson. This fiction is completely modern, fresh and with a compelling plot. It is not at all what we are used to reading, this fiction breaks with the traditional stereotypes of the mystery genre. A woman who is a sex worker learns that her client was murdered shortly after meeting her. From that moment, she takes action on the matter and begins to investigate. Could she find the murderer? The twists and turns of the novel make the reader expectant of what is coming. The mystery goes beyond the pages of this book. I definitely recommend it.
I found this novel very interesting and engaging. It is original and strongly changes the social look, and the typical stories. A sex worker suddenly takes a crucial role in the murder of an important man and discovers things she could not have imagined. It is a strong, intense and captivating novel, which positions itself in an interesting way in front of the figure of a woman dedicated to this controversial field. The characters are perfectly defined and on many occasions, I felt as if I knew them. The plot is complex but the reading is very light and easy. I recommend it without hesitation to lovers of good readings and to anyone who enjoys, like me, a moment of leisure.
I really enjoy the mix the author gets by combining in one hand that sensual narrative and that clever mystery story at another. And also, having a strong female as the main characters makes it even better.
I think what captivated me the most is reading a book from a different perspective as I used to. Naked Came the Detective breaks the usual mold of detective work and books that go about that genre. The story follows a sex worker turning into a detective to find out who murder on of her clients.
Overall, I think this novel is a quick and very enjoyable read. Fans of mystery are going to have a blast with it.
An escort's client is murdered and she sets out to find the killer.
I was ill when I read this in two short sittings. My brain could barely handle the complexity of making a cup of tea yet this book was an excellent way to pass the daze of recovery time.
For me it was uncomplicated brain-candy with few enough twists to avoid confusing a feverish mind and just enough mystery to keep the pages turning. Not to mention a simple and linear enough plot to forgive the less lucid reader the odd glazed over page here and there.
If you're looking for a very easy read that needs little concentration, would recommend.
I wasn't sure what to expect before reading Naked Came the Detective. Crime fiction isn't really my thing. However, I'm glad I gave it a chance. I found the book to be very compelling. It's rather a lot like The Intimate Adventures of A London Call Girl by Belle De Jour (another great book) sprinkled with a murder mystery. It's short enough for me to have read it in an afternoon, which is something else I enjoyed. The book was well written, intriguing and not at all what I thought it would be. I very much recommend it. If you enjoy shows like Secret Diary of a Call Girl (based upon Belle De Jour's book) then I think you'll enjoy this.
"Naked Came The Detective" is a gripping mystery novel that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The collaborative effort of various authors seamlessly weaves together multiple storylines, creating a complex and engaging narrative. The characters are well-developed, each with their own quirks and motives, adding depth to the plot. The pacing is brisk, with twists and turns that will leave readers guessing until the very end. Overall, "Naked Came The Detective" is a must-read for fans of the mystery genre, offering intrigue, suspense, and a satisfying resolution.
The author revitalized the murder mystery genre by flipping the cliche on its head. Instead of the usual fate of the call girl in such stories, Jackson presents a sex worker turned detective after a client's murder, offering a fresh narrative twist.
The protagonist, leveraging her unique access to the city's elite, embarks on an investigation that is as much about navigating complex social webs as it is about solving a crime.
The writing is sharp, with a narrative pace that maintains suspense while offering moments of introspection. It's a succinct, impactful read that leaves a lasting impression, showcasing Jackson's versatility and depth as a storyteller.
NAKED CAME THE DETECTIVE is a unique murder mystery that ties in erotic suspense. When a client is murdered, one woman wants to find out who did it. In her line of work, sex is a great way to uncover secrets and make someone vulnerable. And solve this mystery she will.
This story feels like an odd blend of Sex and the City with Murder on Orient Express and it works! I devoured this book so quickly and found myself satisfied in the end once we learn who the killer is. It’s a twist I don’t want to spoil but I would recommend this book to fans of mystery, intrigue, and sex.
Naked Came the Detective is a short and captivating mystery written by Glendall Jackson. The story develops around the murder of a prominent businessman who also is a client of a skilled and versatile sex worker. She decides to become a detective to investigate and solve the murder of her client. It is the perfect book for those who love to read stories of suspense, thrillers and other similar genres but they don't have much time. Unlike many other novels in this genre, it is brief but very intense; all the time, you are suspecting something important. I liked that. Also, I like to see a powerful female character who is well developed and who stars in the story in an amazing way.
This book isn't the usual murder mystery in which the main character interrogates the victim's family and acquaintances. Instead, we meet the escort's clients as she questions them about the questionable mugging of Ben, who was one of her clients. Ben was a financial genius in real estate and offered a private investment fund. Since the escort's clients included the elite of DC, most of them had dealings with Ben. The murderer is soon apparent after a few clues. I would have enjoyed a more elaborate mystery and fewer details of sex with each client.
A riveting short novel that delves deeply into the sex industry. This double mystery starts with a missing person and continues with a murder. It had me guessing on one hand and following the clues with the protagonist on the other. It's extremely well-written and researched, with great characters throughout. The story powers forward with the main character (a female escort) as she guides you through her life and job, she also tries to solve a murder by questioning a variety of her customers and friends. I loved this book. it has a fabulous insight into the sex industry and the broad circumstances that would make a person want to delve into this trade. I would recommend this read to anyone, it's a fabulous novel.
