Herman Steuernagel is a science fiction and fantasy author. His internationally best-selling debut Lies the Guardians Tell reached the top of the science fiction charts in multiple countries.

Herman grew up with a love of story and science fiction, watching Star Trek, The Next Generation with his father. As a teenager he fell in love with The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks, and The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.

His currently published works are dystopian science fiction that highlight the struggle between humanity and the technology we keep, as well as the motivations that keep us fighting with each other.

Herman currently lives in British Columbia, Canada, While he’s not working on a new book he can be found cycling, running and dreaming up new worlds.

Terrific entry into this series as the story keeps expanding and the stakes for our characters just keep getting more and more intense. The threads that started to build in Chimera really take hold here and every time I think I know where this is going.....suddenly it's WHAT??
Eventide's journey continues to be a favorite as she tries to take command of her situation and find a way to freedom. Am very curious what will happen with Matthias.....so sus!! Once again, the flow and the pacing of the story keep you glued to the page, and I cannot wait for what book 4 will bring next year!!

The plot thickens! I started off this series excited to read more of Django's tale, but the deeper I go the more I love the other characters! Mikka's story is a little slower in this one than the others, but no less heartbreaking as she comes to grips with her shattered version of her life. Eventide proves herself clever and strong as she navigates her dismal situation to find a way out. Django is pulled in so many directions but much stronger forces that he doesn't know which way is up (which I suppose is the case for him in general).

While there is a twist at the end that I predicted, I think it's because of my own background that I saw it coming. It isn't too obvious.

Overall, this is a can't-miss addition to the Fractured Orbit series, and I can't wait to see what Herman cooks up next!

This was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I really like the characters and overall story in this series and I also really like the way Steuernagel writes (for the most part), but about a third of this book felt off to me. Not a lot of story progression for a while even though there WAS some action.The action didn't really seem to lead anywhere though and there was a lot of repetitive inner dialogue that really started to annoy me. Luckily it picked up in the second half of the book and had a really good ending. I read that the next book was supposed to be published last year, so not sure what's happening with that. Hopefully it will come out soon as I'm pretty invested in the story now and need to know how it all ends. If not for the weird slow boring bit it could have gotten 4 stars for me, but because of the lull I'm giving it 3.

Exciting continuation of the series, with love and betrayal at every step. Django, Eventide, and Mikka faceone obstacle after another. The book ends in cliffhangers for all three main characters, with no story resolutions yet in sight. Hoping book 4 comes out soon, and hope it's the final book of this series. It feels like everything's coming to a head, so I suspect it will be. Very much enjoying it thus far.

I felt like book two of Fractured Orbit, Chimera, was just missing a little something that made Eclipse such a joy, but in here, a lot of that was back. We were more ship-based with a few different characters on different ships and I enjoyed that. It’s basically that's what I look for or more from a sci-fi rather than being planet-side most of the time, so that definitely helped.

I liked the storyline here, there was a bit that slightly mirrored the story of Eclipse where you've got people essentially trying to figure out what's going on and potentially escape a space station. Here it was a ship rather than a space station, but it had a similar vibe, and that was what I really enjoyed about Eclipse. This was definitely a step up for me from book two, although book two was still a good book, and I'm looking forward to the next one whenever it comes out.
