This isn't a review - it's a thank you. To Ruby Rae Reads, for manually adding this to GR, and to every amazing reader who's connected with Wes and Liz, those silly little love lovers.

Wes and Liz go to California together, they both go to UCLA. Liz and Helena's father follow in a car, with their things. The journey together, where everything ends and something new begins. Liz's difficulty leaving her mother behind... And start something new with Wes.
“I realized that Liz was a fucking Taylor Swift song. She was. Vibey and romantic, but with the uncanny ability to reach inside of you and grab your heart with her absolute specificity. Liz Buxbaum wasn’t just a redhead; no, she was a girl whose hair was the color of the late September maple leaves that fluttered on the home base tree in her front yard. And Liz Buxbaum didn’t just wear a sweater, for God’s sake. No, she wore an apple green cardigan that smelled like Chanel No.5 and the front seat of your car, where she’d left it for a week. She said it reminded her of the way the rain sounded on the roof the first time you kissed her. Taylor. Fucking. Swift.”
“Hey - what’re you doing, Tablecloth?” I heard Wes’ yell from behind me – referring to my red gingham Draper James top”
“Something funny?” “Not many guys would get their ass kicked by a cat for their girlfriend. You’re a mess, Wessy, and I love it so much.”
“He was too good to be true, only he wasn’t. He was the real thing.”
“What song is playing right now, Buxbaum,” Wes asked when we finally walked out the doors and into the sunshine. He asked me that all the time, because I know that brain of yours is always pairing music and I want to be able to veto any shitty music you might assign to me.”
“Not smiling was impossible when Wes looked at me like that, like he wanted to kiss me and tousle my hair, all at the same time.”
“His mouth stopped my words. His big palms squeezed my shoulders – hard – as he lowered his head and kissed me like he was committing every fiber of his being to the task.”
“Did I feel huge things for Lizzie, so all-encompassing that it scared the ever-loving shit out of me? God, yes. Was it love? A thousand percent yes.”
“my God, I loved her so fucking much”
“Wait. Buxbaum.” “Yeah?” “What song is playing right now?”
“Don’t you get it? Little Lizzie is my kryptonite. When you show me that weirdy side that you try so hard to repress, I am smitten and weak as fuck.”
“What song is playing right now, Buxbaum,”
“Every single kiss was perfection. I could kiss her for centuries and never get tired of it.”
“I love you, Elizabeth Buxbaum.” “I love you more, Wesley Harold Bennett.”
“What song is playing now, Buxbaum?”

currently reading this on a mini road trip myself, the vibes are perfect ✨
“it lined me to think something so insane, but that morning, as she’d subjected me to an endless T-Swift playlist, I realized that Liz was a f…ing Taylor Swift song.”
GAH WES AND LIZ!! they both are so precious and to see them together & happy made me happy. this was perfect!!
“He was too good to be true, only he wasn’t. He was the real thing.”
Why is Wes Bennett so perfect, and where can I find someone just like him? 🥺 It was so sweet to revisit them again in Wes & Liz's College Road Trip - Wes and Liz are that couple that no matter what they're up to, they bring a smile to my face. 🥰🥰 I loved that it was in dual POV - limited as these glimpses were, Liz is still head over heels in love - admitting it, is just another step to show it. 🩷🩷
“Do you know how much I love you?”
Wes is just so sweet and charming and relaxed and confident, ugh - he really is too good to be true! 😭 It's in the little things that we get to see just how much he cares for her, just not too sure how to say it back. Because she is it for him - the girl who can turn him into a Taylor Swift fan - that moment, when he 'realized that Liz was a fucking Taylor Swift song'. They are the definition of 'enemies-to-lovers - it’s our trope', and they have my heart, simply for how well they embody it. 🥹🥹
“What song is playing right now, Buxbaum?”
As always, I LOVE the little movie quotes and song lyrics, Lynn Painter includes - it's such a brief short story of four parts, but she captured their next level of intimacy and fierce want. ❤️🔥❤️🔥 When Wes was one potent drug moving his sinful hands to the tunes when you move, I'm moved - I was a puddle of feels. 🫠🫠🫠 . Ms. Painter always successfully maintains that wonderful balance between playful yet flirty vibes, and that emotional tug towards the unforeseen future that lies ahead of them in their new step towards college. 🤌🏻🤌🏻
i'd die for wes and liz. i'd sell my soul for them. they're my children. my heart. my swiftie heart, it's theirs. nothing will ever be better. 6 stars.
It pained me to think something so insane, but that morning, as she’d subjected me to an endless T-Swift playlist, I realized that Liz was a fucking Taylor Swift song.
What is better than a story told from Wes and Liz’s perspective? We escort them on their road trip to college, where they rescue a cat from a cornland, do share-tattoos, express their deeper feelings, and reflect on the new chapter they’re about to start.
Sweet and, for me, very important for the series. The only thing I disliked was the length of the chapter. It keeps me wanting more of Liz and Wes. What is happening to me!? Never felt like this for a young adult series, and I regret profoundly starting it right now when part two comes next year! I can’t wait that long! Somebody call 911!
