I Do Not... Like You

Out of all the ways I thought I’d find a husband, I didn’t expect it to be like this…I was left a swanky NYC apartment, courtesy of a will I didn’t know I was in – but it comes with a caveat. I have to marry an incredibly rude – and fine – stranger. My first reaction is a clear, “I don’t.” My finances don’t let me get that far. And Josh needs this fake marriage to get custody of his late friend’s son. Is it enough to make me put up with the most abrasive but handsome white boy I’ve ever met?I already know my answer.

This book starts off good. We are introduced to Camille, a woman who works in a nursing home. She is the kind of person that cares about people and will go out of her way to make them feel good. Joshua is introduced as a stressed out business man, dreading the funeral of his beloved grandfather and having to deal with his greedy family members.
The two MCs meet at the funeral and they both have justifiable reasons to dislike/ distrust each other.
After this meet not cute, I am thinking 'okay, how is this enemies to lovers going to play out'. That was not the story that I got. The moment the two agree to marry, everything is peaches and cream. Miraculously, Josh gets Sampson, who I guess was in foster care, the night of the wedding. How did that happen so conveniently. There is a poor sense of time playing out. There is not much information provided about the boy. We learn that he is 7 and has both maternal and paternal grandparents, yet he was in foster care? When did his parents die? He quickly is calling the MCs mom and dad. The nearest I can figure they have all been together for only a month maybe two.
Other things transpire, that I will not disclose, that doesn't make sense. This story could have been better with more back story, a proper timeline, character development and some angst.
If you like a very slow burn and contemporary romance, then this is your book.

Nope!

Slow, boring and predictable. Don't waste your time. I found the unruly family members more interesting than the main characters. This is an amateur writer.

ok

I’m not sure about this one. It was just ok. To me bad guys weren’t dealt with and it didn’t feel real. I will read something else by this author.

loved it but…

Loved the book but it seems unfinished. What happened with the family and the buisness? Didn’t like being left guessing.

Not enough something….

The storyline had such good potential; however plot would develop but went away with no explanation. Example the auntie that showed up then left (no explanation of what happened the story just jumps to she was gone). The big scandal just went away and nothing else. Like what happened to the greedy family. And lastly as a billionaire he should have had team of lawyers to help with custody of the child. I’m sorry but it was no depth to the stories and scenes.

IDo......Not Like You by Tyla Walker is a cute story of Camille and Joshua. Camille works for a senior citizen nursing home. She loves her job and truly cares for her patients. When her favorite client dies, she goes to pay her final respects. What she didn't expect was to run into an obnoxious guy who looked at her like she was something on the bottom of his shoe. To compound insult to injury, Camille has been named in the will. Come to find out, she has been bequeath a luxury apartment. However, there is just one little catch. She has to marry set jerk who just so happens to be the patient's grandson. Joshua is livid that this gold digger shows up at his grandfather's wake, and he left her an apartment and not just any apartment. Joshua also has to marry her, which he doesn't want to, but he needs a wife. In order to make himself appropriate so that he can get custody of his best friend's son, he needs to be married. No one would let him adopt a child with the hours he works. When Camille's present living conditions turn sour, she has to make a very difficult decision. Joshua tries to sweeten the pot. Just one year so he can get custody, and Camille will not only have an apartment but compensation. I really loved this story. The journey that Camille and Joshua embark on consists of many upside and downs, twists, and turns. These two characters were everything. I couldn't get enough of them 4.5 stars.

Joshua and Camille

This is a wonderfully thought-out story, with a great plot and main characters. Joshua and Camille are like oil and water from the very start. His grandfather left her a home, to be claimed if she marries Josh. Of course that sets off a battle with his family, the entitled pack of jackals. But Josh needs Camille to help him provide a safe home for his best friend's little boy Samson. An admirable cause, if there ever was one. She and her friends need a safe haven as well, as they are living in a slum with a creep for a landlord. Two people who have such higher purposes can surely maintain a facade long enough to meet their mutual needs. Love doesn't have to be a factor. But life sure is better for them both when it is.

I have read a Ms. Walker story before and generally enjoyed the story itself. However, now, as then, she does a poor job with the editing. I took a chance on this one since it is written years after the tale I did read. I thought the final copy would be smoother with her maturity as a very prolific author. No such luck.

Tyla Walker has written another good book, we follow Camille and Joshua, Both have a rucksack she works in a nursing home and Joshua struggles with arranging and attending his beloved grandfather's funeral and to make matters worse has with greedy grabbing relatives. When they meet at the funeral, they don't like each other right away, because both have problems trusting each other. I thought it was a good story, the only downside is that I would have liked to read more background about them, as it was in the other books, but it does not alter the fact that I enjoyed reading their story.

5 Stars of Absolutely Beautiful.

Talk about BEAUTIFUL. This book has to be one of the most amazingly beautiful books I’ve read in the past few weeks.
The chemistry is incredible between Camille and Joshua. But the really chemistry that will keep you rooting for them is the chemistry between them and Samson. Even I love the boy. I especially like what he said about his hair and his power.

You have got to read this book. I’m definitely looking forward to the book I. This series.

Guardian Angel

A love crafted from a bond, loss, and a will written with purpose of uniting one man's favorite people. Seemingly, Julian's last wish was ultimately to both help Camilla out and unite her and his grandson Joshua, as they needed each other even if they don't see it immediately.

This is a story with a quick twist of highs and lows and a instant family. I enjoyed the read and it was not riddled with errors that has plaqued the kindle universe, just a quick handful that a courtesy look over should fix.

Um. This book is definitely not the worst. The story line was great but left many questions. There was no real push of falling in love. It was like the characters said “ i do” and jumped into loving roles. There was a stress looming as far as the boys adoption but it wasn’t present anywhere in the story really. The burn was so slow the book never got warm. I was really excited about a BW main character getting a fairytale romance but all there was was a super rich guy buying her stuff and then falling into a serving role.

The most basic 3 of all time. The main characters are dumb. For some reason Camille can only speak up for herself when dealing with Joshua. There was animosity from the beginning that was so unbelievably unnecessary. I hate when the FMC knows she needs the help but refuses to take it. Let’s be for real. I feel like Samson came out of nowhere. The Princess Leia comment made no sense, especially without context. There’s other stuff.

The new title: I Do Love You!

Great read! How did Julian know that Camille and Josh would fall in love and become a true family and not pretend as Josh initially had planned? Loved Camille’s attitude. Her love for her patients and her friends. Julien’s and Josh’s family were greedy and out for themselves. Definitely worth reading!

I do not.. like this book.

Barely-there plot, scenes just thrown together. Very little chemistry between the main characters. Storyline not fully developed. This was an unpleasant reading experience, but I struggled through it to give this new-to-me author a chance. Unimpressive.

I just couldn’t get into the story

I’m not sure what it was, but the story was just not storing for me. If that makes sense, it just took too long to pull me in. I hate all the mental narration I like it better when they talk conversation, the plot was good and the basis of the story was great I just don’t like how it was written

Not Like Turns to Love ❤️

What starts out as hated ends in love! She thought she was taking good care of a patient who was alone, but to her amazement he took very good care of her by leaving her in his Will which infuriates his family! His stipulation is that she marries his grandson whom he loves. And it turns out that that’s the best thing for the both of them!🦋

ummm…

Not sure how I feel about this book. It’s was often at odds with itself. Too sappy, then too unrealistic and the moods of the characters all over the place and not in the way you’d expect. Title is was unwarranted bc the “not like you” lasted all of two seconds. Its just 🫤 meh

This was a good story that could have been better if there was more detail given to some of the characters. It was an intriguing read with a great storyline but it lacked in some places making it hard to follow along.

Fantastic Story

I loved this book and how they met each other and couldn’t stand each other and were thrown together to marry and then actually fell in love for real and got pregnant and stayed together.

A good simple read

Really anticlimactic. Thought there would more fighting and fussing in text. Just written without expanding upon it. A few miss grammar corrections. If you want a pretty simple read this is it

1⭐️

It started out okay but as the story progressed it got worse. It didn’t grab me and the instant enemies to lovers was rushed and I didn’t feel the love at all, everything just felt forced and weird. I skimmed this book so fast just soo I could finish.

Okay story

It was nice to read a story without a lot of drama. I thought it would be boring, it wasn't. I wish he had cut his leeching family off. The plot was very predictable, but still okay.

A very good read

I loved the characters and the flow of the story line. I like the fact that their love was a gradual growth of respect and understanding. I enjoyed this novel immensely.

I did enjoy reading this story. I would have liked more romantic and intimate development between the main characters. The sexual moments between them seemed to be basic casual sex rather than meaningful and deep sexual moments. Overall, I did enjoy the story and give it 3.5 stars.

A good and heartfelt story about “not judging a book by its cover”

Easy reading, I loved how the characters developed and get themselves the opportunity to break free from false believes and truly be their best version for the people they loved”

It was good...

Needs another round of editing but pretty good. I wish it would have said how Josh cut his family off. Good nonetheless. Maybe 4.75 for the mediocre editing.
