This series was entirely in English and I didn’t understand a word of it:) I don’t know if it was an error or if it was always this way, but Author never differentiated inner monologue/flashbacks from present time dialogue and that made it very hard to understand what was going on. (I think the first book was fine that way) Even if that was fixed though, I still don’t think it would’ve made any more sense. I’m not sure why I stuck around till the end. I suppose I have a habit of saying, “well, I’m this far, I might as well finish it.” No matter how bad a story is.
Also, there was very little description for individual characters besides the MC and her love interest. And it was very hard to tell who was speaking with the dialogue, so after the first two books I had no idea which character was supposed to be on the cover. Thankfully, I read a comment that said Isar was on the third book cover, but unfortunately, that same person hasn’t read the fourth book yet, so I still have no clue who it is. And if it is Isar why would he be holding a sword?! He’s depicted as weak and studious, there is no point in the series when he picks up a sword!
For the fourth book cover, there’s only like 3 female characters around young adult age in this series, one of them is the blonde MC, the other has red hair, and the third is nameless with little to no description on her appearance (they literally refer to her as No. 3). So my best guess is No. 3, but seeing as I read the whole series, I feel it should be more clear to me who’s on the cover.

Today’s post is on Ten Ways to Get Dumped by a Tyrant, Vol 4 by Seo Gwijo. It is 348 pages long and is published by Editio. The cover has Cheryl Diel on it. As it is the fourth volume in the series, you need to have read the first three to understand the story. The intended reader is someone who likes humorous fantasy stories. There is mild foul language, no sex, and mild action violence in this novel. The story is told mostly from first person of Scarlet but it does change perspectives as needed. There Be Spoilers Ahead.

From the back of the book- Can they vanquish this evil once and for all?
Join Charlemagne and Scarlett as they embark on a perilous journey through the mystical Diel territory, unraveling secrets and uncovering the enigmatic nature of the so-called female lead.

Review- A fun end to a fun series. Scarlett and Charlemagne work out their problems and have their happily ever after. There is less silliness in this final volume but that’s okay as the rest of the series makes up for it. Scarlett is still over the top and Charlemagne still scares the daylights out of everyone. The big bad is a god who wanted to be the only god and Cheryl dies for him. It was very pitiable death for a villain but that’s what happens when you worship an evil god. The last hundred or so pages are a short story following some of the side characters and tying up their storylines. I did enjoy this series, it was fun, silly, and very cute. I would recommend it if you like that.

I give this novel a Four out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I borrowed this novel from my local library.

Rushed story but still decent

I feel like the main story (first 75% of book) could have been better paced by either splitting it into two books or just having a longer book. The content's speed made it feel rushed and the humor forced.

The "bonus" story was very weird. It felt like a crossover event between two different series were neither was properly catered to. The rushed nature felt more sloppy and without direction or purpose. As a reader I was constantly feeling like I was missing a while other story entirely and that the characters I knew were only special guests... But I was an interloper since I didn't know there's other people in the height of their epic story. It felt like a ride interruption of a different series that would have irritated the fans of that unknown series.

With this wrap up to the main story I can consistently say that even if there were more volumes I wouldn't read them. Between volumes 3 & 4 I feel like the author is bored and it of ideas/inspiration. The best of the story was volumes 1 & 2 with the final two volumes being an obligatory sprint to completion.

Worth reading once, might reread the first couple again. Wouldn't risk my hopes on any further.

Doch so…? Echt jetzt?
Manche Sachen werden so hart und schwer aufgebaut und dann gibt es diese krasse finale Auseinandersetzung mit einem solchen Ende? Was soll ich dazu sagen. Das ist recht enttäuschend. Ich hätte mit etwas mehr Boom! Bang! Boom! Gerechnet.

Very poor writing quality

The first volume was good. The second volume completely changed gears half way through to explore a side adventure. The third volume seemed to realize that the side adventure was boring and the audience wanted to go back to the real story, so it wrapped up everything from the side adventure in the open pages, then dropped explanations as asides from that point on. The fourth volume failed to include rationality in the storytelling and frequently didn’t say WHO was speaking. Did I mention that an important character’s name was changed between volumes two and three?
These offenses were magnified in the side story at the end of the book. The main story wrapped up at 68% of the way through volume four. The rest of the book was a side story where “Lett” and “Charl” go to a different continent to interfere with their politics. The barest of bare bones explanations are given for who the characters of this continent are, why they are in conflict, etc. The last third of this book was the most tedious thing I’ve read in months!
If only I could block authors so Kindle will never recommend this person to me again!

Once the MCs got together, it was no longer funny. Also, I couldn't care less about characters introduced at the 80% mark. It was kind of an underwhelming ending to a series that started out strong (I honestly just skimmed this last part). I thought there was a lot of missing plot development that were referred to when they were transported to the other book. I didn't fully understand the "Gods" or "Fairy Kings". And Baba ended up being a vital character, but I didn't fully understand his relationship with the leads (they supposedly spent 1 year with them in the other novel, but we only got a few chapters with their relationship). Anyways, I was pretty disappointed with how the series ended.

So, I read the Webtoon comic version.

What first started out as a romcom fantasy of a girl trying to do whatever it took to break her engagement with a Tyrant emperor, turned into something different by the end of the book.

Too many subplots clashed with the main plot that it ended up being too confusing to follow along, and based on the other readers that followed the comic, I wasn't the only one grasping at the edge to stay afloat in this comic.

I did enjoy the beginning of said book, but I'm glad its over with given how the ending was absurdly rushed and made no lick of sense.

💚💛💜💙

I cannot believe this series has ended 😭😭. I am absolutely in love/obsessed with this series and each book was more wonderful than the last. I enjoyed the antics and adventures of our characters, the love between Charl and Lett, and we cannot forget the adorable fairy babies. Really wish it was longer.

It was cute.

Things kind of felt rushed towards the end, but I liked the outcome of the OG female lead. I couldn't always follow the female lead's way of thinking. I just kept waiting for the end results. There was a happy ending, so I was happy.

What was the point of the last story? I was confused once it started, and I didn't get what the main point of it was. I didn't think it added anything to the main story. I couldn't care less, and that's why it took me so long to finish.

Ignoring the side stories (what a turn into left field), this was a decent wrap up of the storyline though it did feel a bit rushed at the end.

Loved it!

I always loved Scarlet’s character! She made this book light hearted and wholesome. I needed a great story, with much laughter, something different from the serious or heartbreaking stories. I’m glad to come across this series.
