Captivating & Inspiring!

Wow! What a fantastic story capturing the emotional turmoil, sacrifices, and independence of being a successful business woman in today’s Society.

The female character “Casey” captivated me immediately as the author’s description brought her character to life baring her independence, her struggles with working with the male competition within her own office regardless of how successful her own status was, she received no respect and was still treated unequally. But most importantly, my emotional sympathies totally related to her sacrifices and dedication to her work. Sometimes it is just hard to have a successful job career and have a social life and even though many years may pass as we struggle to maintain the success in our careers, the loneliness eventually catches up with us and one of two things eventually happens. You either have an emotional breakdown ending up in the hospital or you get burned out and eventually get out of the field.

The connection between me the reader and the character Casey was so close to my own reality that I couldn’t put the book down and had it read within a few hours. As I read through the book my inner thoughts kept sneaking in and saying “She totally needs to get laid” – LOL

However sometimes that doesn’t work to well when you have insecurities that keep you from being and doing what you really want to do and not only that, finding the right man to do it with can be challenging as well. Which brings to mind the old saying when you look for love you will not find it – love has its own way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it and that’s what I loved about this story as the authors build up between the characters climaxed.

Travis Craig is a character any woman reader would fall in love with immediately, he is handsome of course and has the body built just right for making love. But his personality is what won me over. He was an experienced man who had chased lust instead of love as he learned from his mistakes with previous women but he had a reality check when he first met Casey. Remember the old saying how Love has its own way of sneaking up on us, well “LOVE” bitch slapped him at first sight and the connection was electrifying. The author’s description of the scene will have you falling in love and drooling over his determination in confessing his un-denying love for Casey.

The erotic sex scenes are teasing through out the whole story until the end when their love making becomes blitz-fully exciting and hot and so worth waiting for.

I love it when I connect to a book like I did with this one as it brings many happy dreams to me when I sleep. Now that I’ve read this one and Rules of the Game, I will definitely be going to buy the rest of Elaine’s books for she is truly a talented writer who captures real life sceneros and puts them in a fictional story with humor, love, lust, and emotional blitzs of happiness that inspires us to read more Happy Ever After endings.

Excellent Read!

I hate to give bad reviews but there was so much fluff there was barely a story. It was poorly edited and the typos and lack of flow were very distracting. Plus the female character was so unbelievably psychotic it made it hard to like her.

Too cliché for me

This was just one of those "Blah" kind of books for me. It was ok. I didn’t love it or hate it. It was just an average/mediocre read. I caught myself losing interest a couple times, but I stuck with it and finished it.

Pros:
* Some of the banter between the hero/heroine was cute
* No insta-love - they seemed to put forth the effort in actually getting to know one another
* I liked the fact that the heroine wasn’t your typical beauty, but had a unique aspects, such as being tall
* I appreciated this being a standalone and a complete story.

Cons:
* No sex until around 60% into this read, and even then it was pretty vague. I mean, come on! We waited a long time for them to get it on, and once they did, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of details. I knew this was not in the erotic genre, but the times intimacy read more like one out of a YA book.
* The sexual tension began to get tiresome and agitating.
* Overly predictable/lame - Go in expecting phrases like "you complete me"
* The indecisiveness of the heroine. I got so sick of her thought process going back and forth. It was exhausting. I need him. I don’t. I need him. I don’t. I want him. He's better off without me. Sigh
*I didn’t feel a connection to any of the characters. They seemed to lack any great depth and didn’t seem realistic or relatable in any sense
* The book was complete at 70%. Did I mention they didn’t even get it on until the 60% mark? Ugh

Overall, this was just a frustrating read for me. I didn’t care much for the characters or the plot.

How much did I pay: .99
Will I recommend: no

A lovely romance that will have you sighing and remembering what love is. Casey is a lovable character that you'll easily fall in love with. She's smart, witty, with a very good heart. The only thing lacking is not realizing what a wonderful person she is. Going off to discover herself, she not only learns about herself, but meets the man that shows her how love and life can be a wonderful adventure. Filled with romance it will make you want more. The only problem I had with this book, was putting my Kindle down to go to bed!

I loved this book ... Casey and Travis played a great cat and mouse game. I could not put the book down. I read straight through until 4:00 a.m to finish it! These two are so sexy together. I was so sorry to see their story end - it truly was a great love story which built up through the book. Their story is hot, passionate, funny, and definitely HOT HOT HOT!!! You will love this book ...I highly recommend it for a great night of reading! You will love all of Elaine's books - they just get better and better!!!

Amazing writing. I fell in love with this book. Casey was a little too dramatic for my taste but it all worked itself out in the end. Travis Craig...Wow! This patience is incredible. I definitely recommend this book...

This was a freebie I grabbed this morning. The premise intrigued me. It wasn't very long so I decided to give it a read to give myself a break from ARCs for a second.

I enjoyed Casey and Travis's story. It was a fun, fast read.

The story was enjoyable. I did feel like either the editing or the formatting could have used some work because the POV was sometimes confusing.

But that aside, I enjoyed it.

Meet Casey, Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist for a well-regarded yet financially strapped Boston weekly. Daughter of a renown sports journalist, the 6’1” beauty is on the edge of a burnout breakdown, her emotional fragility is apparent to all who encounter her. After resigning her long-term position with the paper, the editor / owner, more family than friend, provides her with a villa in Mexico, all expenses paid, as she decides her next move.

Barely a day passes when Casey’s tranquility and isolation are breached by the strappingly handsome intruder, Travis. A friend of her editor’s son, Travis is also in need of a break, and has been offered the same villa for time to regroup as he strategizes for the next takeover.

Sparks fly, initially ignited from annoyance at intrusions into personal time and space, later from the realization of the sexual attraction. While Travis is very confident, and very tired of the ‘femme fatale’ types, and is instantly drawn to Casey’s beauty, lack of pretention and brains, his mission is to get her to realize all that she is. Casey is incredibly insecure and unsure, her height, lack of experience and two failed romantic interludes led her to believe that she is incapable of competing at that level, wishing instead to be tiny and helpless.

As the two interact with witty repartee and a great sense of freedom that comes with those “vacation’ romances, the sexual tension and not so veiled innuendo flows freely. Narrated with a sense of the character’s personalities and allowing the rhythm of the written word to guide their delivery, the dual narrations of Destiny Landon and Lee James fit the characters beautifully, and the delivery helps to reinforce the emotions conveyed in the text, as clearly as if the reader / listener was in that situation. No one paces or crafts dialogue as well as Elaine Raco Chase, and the narrators do not miss a beat throughout the story, those natural pace changes in conversation, emphasis on specific words, trailing off softly in confusion – all performed with aplomb.

With a liberal addition of erotically tempting details and scenes that fit both the timing and the characters, the relationship arc moves in a solidly real trajectory, even as we know that Travis is instantly gobsmacked by everything about Casey. And, for those of us who want, no need that “happy ever after”, this has that, and more moments that will bring a smile to your face and a sparkle in your eye.

I received an audiobook copy from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

A new Author for me and one in which I will read again. This was truly a love story and loved the laugh, the tears and the realistic turmoil people truly go through.

Casey Reynolds is a Pulitzer Prize winning burned out investigative journalist that is over due for a long vacation. She's the daughter of a renown sports journalist, the 6'1" beauty is on the edge of a burnout breakdown, her emotional fragility is apparent to all who encounter her. After resigning her long-term position with the paper, the editor / owner, more family than friend, provides her with a villa in Mexico, all expenses paid, as she decides her next move. Her boss makes it a vacation rather than accepting her resignation.

She spends one tranquil day on the beach and evening in the villa.. Upon rising the next day she soon becomes aware of a surprise guest in the villa. Travis Craig was invited my Mike Matt's son to go and relax while he gets well and decompresses over his job loss.. He is a teacher and was down sized in his teaching position. Sparks soon fly and Travis quickly plants a kiss on her lips!!

Casey is trying to write a novel while is is there and Travis is all to eager to edit her work. She all but comes unglued the first time he red marked it, but soon realizes he knows what he is doing so they learn coexists. She soon starts to wants him but she is so insecure with her inner feelings, her body, being tall, she isnt skinny but she is no fat by any means at all! Travis is so patient he is willing to wait.

Through the next three months a true love story develops.. They go into the Acapulco to a neighbors apartment for a week of the city life and upon returning she realizes she must leave when Travis goes into the city one day as he goes shopping for her a gift for Easter. She can't bare to say goodbye as they board separate planes when their time ends and the affair ends as well.

The ending is NOT at all how I expected this to end! However with that said I was not disappointed! Elaine did a FAB job!! KUDOS!!

Casey and Travis meet when Casey’s Uncle Matt, who she worked for and has now quit, loans her his home in the Carribean to relax and work on her book. Matt’s brother, Mike, who is part owner of the home, has also loaned the house to his friend, Travis. Travis shows up the first night Casey is there in the middle of the night. In the morning she finds that he has edited her work and knows someone is there and finds him asleep in the other bedroom.

They make an agreement for both of them to be able to stay there. They spend a lot of time together and find it very easy to be together and they become great friends. Both of them are beginning to have stronger feelings for each other. Travis finally tells her he is in love with her. Casey can’t really believe that is true. She had never felt attractive being as tall as she is and usually taller than most men. Her father used to call her clumsy and basically ignored her. Finally she decides they need to go into town and he needs to find another woman to be with. She thinks he is only attracted to her because they have been secluded together for four weeks. Once there, they go their separate ways. Later in the afternoon Casey is at a restaurant and a waiter beings her a glass of wine from the man across the room. It’s Travis. He comes over and asks her if she really wants him to make love to another woman. She says no and that she loves him.

Finally Casey starts to get over her fears and they become intimate. After 12 weeks she starts to feel a bit homesick. She also starts thinking that Travis had never said he wants anything permanent with her and she kind of panics and leaves. After being gone a couple of weeks she gets in touch with Marc and he tells her the Marshall’s have bought the paper and want her to stay. He takes her to meet with them but leaves her there alone. Travis is there and he turns out to be Marshall’s son. He asks her to marry him. I gave 4 1/2 stars.

Casey is a very capable reporter. She has climbed her way to the peak of her career before the age of thirty through hard work, excellent writing and taking on the challenging stories that move people to action. Though she has attained the highest award available in that line of work she is burned out and unhappy. All that success as a career woman and her insecurities about her looks, her height and the mirror-reinforced fact that she will never be Twiggy have teamed up to make her very depressed and lonely.

Deciding to chuck it all she tells her boss she is quitting and takes his offer to use his Mexican hide-away to write her novel. The novel is not the only thing she discovers there.

I truly enjoyed this story. The author takes us inside the mind of a woman who should be on top of the world and treats us to the disassembly of rational thought at least three times which gives the main character depth. The sub-plot to turn loose what you love and see if it comes back occurs more than once in this work with the same result which really stacks up the evidence that somebody is...insane.

The was a fun book to read and an excellent vacation for the mind. Some editing flubs could be fixed but they did not interfere with enjoying the story. Four out of five orgasmic units joy are hereby awarded.

Comedy didn't really become a part of this book until the second half, and it was kind of a long wait for me to be entertained. I did like this book and Travis who's a very patient man, "I have been very patient for the last two weeks. You have totally ignored my emotional seduction. Tonight I thought I'd get physical." Casey she just annoyed me at times I mean I know a book isn't going to be all rainbow and roses but she could have at least worked with Travis just a little bit more I mean the man is upfront about what he wants, "I went for bread and milk and fruit, not for sex." He folded his arms across his chest; his voice was quiet and calm. "While the ladies in town are lovely and willing and cheap, I am perfectly happy and content to wait for you." When his words don't work he has to go into action, "you are damn right it's you!" His hands moved quickly down her back to cup the curve of her a**, grinding her hard against him. "And as you can plainly feel, it has gone south." The book was likable enough but at times it just didn't do it for me.

All Casey Reynolds wanted was peace and quiet and a long vacation from covering the crime beat in Boston. That's why she agreed to borrowing a villa in Mexico to rest, be alone and work on her novel.
But then he showed up -- Travis Craig. He said he was offered the villa to recover from a serious illness. He had just lost his teaching job and had no money to leave.
She agreed with his plan to share the house -- but on her terms. Soon rest and relaxation were a thing of the past when their double occupancy proved too erotic to control.
This book was beautifully written. Love the details and the way the author relays everything beautifully. . You feel like you are in the story. Great writing always does that!
To me that's one of the best things an author can do. Details Details Details. The characters were so easy to fall in love with. The clever banter and romance between Casey and Travis is so sweet and amazing.
I would highly recommend this book!

This is the story of a burnt out journalist leaving her job and going to stay in Acapulco to recharge her batteries and start writing a novel. Due to a mix up another man comes to stay at the villa and things get complicated (and steamy!) from there.

I did enjoy this. It was slowly teased out with the last quarter of the book being quite steamy! Casey is feisty but terribly unsure of herself while Travis is the complete opposite. They are the stereotypical odd couple. The story tiptoes round the couple as they played cat and mouse with each other. At one point I was screaming 'Get on with it!'. But when they eventually did get together, wow! It was definetly a sizzler that's for sure! I did like the fact that it was a slow burner - I like that in an erotic novel. I prefer a bit of storyline to it.

All in all a great read, good for warming you up on a cold autumn evening.

In Double Occupancy, Chase does well by her characters, giving them room in their close-quartered villa to really express themselves and draw the reader into their love story. Their witty banter will have you laughing but their hot and steamy moments will have you begging for more. By isolating her hero and heroine like this, Chase has given the reader the chance to indulge in a R&R too, focusing on the budding relationship between Travis and Casey. Get lost in this story as though you’re resting up in the villa for yourself… I found it pretty hard to put this one down and climb back into the real world, myself!

This was a fun book. Casey is escaping her life and goes to Mexico to work on her novel. Then Travis shows up. They are instantly attracted to one another, but she has too many insecurities to get involved right away. They become friends, but they find it impossible to stay that way for long. I enjoyed the fun banter, and of course there is lots of steam.
The narration is easy to listen to. There are two narrators and it makes the male and female points of view easy to distinguish. They both have very soothing voices. The music at the beginning of each chapter is a nice touch.

I'm not going to lie, half way through this book, I could have strangled Casey, and then the end- oh she's lucky she is just fictional! I am madly in love with Travis. There is such a spark and happiness in Travis and it makes me swoon. I still am sitting here getting mushy over how much he loves and takes care of Casey, he is so amazing. This book was an amazing read, and the only regret over this book I have is I wish it was longer!!

I a bit of a hard time getting into this book. The main characters seemed rather manic to me. Her emotions seemed all over the place and kept flip flopping so it was hard to focus. I was happy with the end however since she had him on such a roller coaster ride.
