There is magic and fantasy all around us, but have we grown past the point where we can see it? For two sisters, at the edge of adulthood, magic and fantasy are real. However, life causes changes expected and unexpected and the growth it takes to handle those changes have real consequences. This story, inspired by a region in Northwest Montana, tackles and puts a spin on the age old legend of Sasquatch while also digging deep into the process of growing up.
I really enjoyed this book and the way Chapter 5 concluded. The author has done a great job of breathing flesh into the characters, and the depth of the setting was done with extraordinary skill. I was there in the woods.
I could smell the trees as the plot unfolded. Creative writing is challenging, but it seems so natural for this author. The genre evokes a sense of dark fantasy that I can't get enough of. I can only hope that the author writes more of these stories.
