Jason Hartline and Michael Washington are as disparate a pair of friends as one is likely to find. A dedicated cynic and militant atheist, Jason is a scientific prodigy and an evident genius from an early age, who never fit in with anyone else throughout the course of his life. Michael, on the other hand, is a man of unshakeable faith, born from childhood tragedies which left him an orphan and, to some extent, an addict.
