'Forever Lover', a short story offering a glimpse into the lives of two characters who have long been overshadowed by the limelight of their siblings, is included at the end of Bloodwite Book 4, but I have decided to also review it separately, as 'The Assassin's Redemption' is mainly the story of Rowan Morley.
"Seven hundred years of foreplay were a few too many."
While it took their siblings more than 700 hundred years for to find their forever-love, things were different for Laria Derrickson and Drake Morley. The son of an English earl and the daughter of a Scottish chief, they first met in the gardens of Bowden Castle, in their human lives, when their fathers held talks in a futile attempt to end their families' bloody feud.
As centuries pass and their paths repeatedly cross amidst the relentless pursuit of Cheld and rogue vampires, they continue being enemies, continue hating each other..
Even in the 21st century, after their families have finally put their enmities aside, Laria and Drake have not.
Falling for their siblings' scheme, Laria and Drake find themselves alone in a secluded cabin in the middle of nowhere for a whole weekend, forced to confront the undeniable truth, something they knew from their first meeting in the gardens over 7 centuries ago: they were meant for each other :)

I thoroughly enjoyed the 'Bloodwite' series <3 Kudos to Cecelia Mecca for crafting these captivating stories and breathing life into such wonderful characters.
