NIOBE is a suspenseful science fiction novella which takes place in a near-future where citizens can "rent" spare bodies called PlaySelves for various purposes, usually recreational. Ivan Datlow rents an attractive male body to go on a blind date with a woman--but his new body is hijacked and goes on a destructive crime spree, the repercussions of which Ivan's real self has to deal with.
