Ok, I have to say, this book, while somewhat interesting, wasn't what I expected when I picked it up. (nobody's fault there, my expectations shouldn't affect anyone's reading enjoyment), but I found myself wondering how the author intended to make the book interesting in the beginning. Well, I'm not sure the author really accomplished that task. I kept reading, more out of shear momentum than anything else, and while the story (eventually) turned out to be decent enough, I don't think I would have read this one had I known in advance the circuitous route the story took to get to the end. Sure, it all appears necessary with a broad overview, but I honestly think the author could have dropped 2 or 3 repeats, and lost nearly nothing from the story. Also, during the last repeat, everyone fell to the time honored dialogue diarrhea, instead of just finishing the task, something that was excruciating to read, since everyone (including the reader) already knew the outcome, there was truly no need to drag it out as long as it took. I'm guessing there's more in this series, but I don't think I'll be reading them. This story was ok, (I'd honestly give it a 2.5 rating), only because it had too much filler thrown in, Others may disagree with me, and that's fine, too, I'm just not impressed with the writing behind this one, even though the story was a relatively decent one, I personally just think it took too long to get there. Your mileage may vary.
This started off with an interesting plot and got progressively boring. I persisted half way through and then decided that life was too short. It might be me, other people may love it, but for me it was not worth persisting further.
If you are a fan of time travel books with action, twists and turns, and a great back story - then you will absolutely love this book! The character development is amazing ad you find yourself rooting for the main character throughout. Literally could not pit it down. Hoping for a movie!
