I bought this book for reading time in my day care. My three year olds learned to sing the entire song in only two weeks. The illistrations are bright and inviting. The kids loved the story of how the little boy and girl grow up, fall in love, get married and have a baby. And yes, just like the book the day care is laden with happiness and a few occasional tears. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Great children's book that simply presents the lyrics of the timeless song from the musical Fiddler on the Roof, accompanied by pictures illustrating its theme. The young lovers shown on the cover recount their shared childhood and the phenomenon of aging/living live, Schoenherr's illustrations conveying depth of emotion as well as the cultural traditions of Eastern European Jews.
