The Natales used to be a family who loved pranks, laughter, and holiday traditions, especially at Christmas. Since the parents' names were Merry and Horace (Ho-ho), they had called all 5 of their children by Christmas names as well. But after Merry's death twenty years ago, the Merri-ment seemed to leave, and a bitter dysfunction had rooted itself to replace it, including a ghost haunting the bookstore.
J. Ivanel Johnson is the pen name for an author with (dis)Ability who now lives in the Appalachian range of Northwestern New Brunswick on a small farm overlooking inspirational views. Her cozy mystery series, the JUST (e)STATE is set in the Canadian provinces of NB, Ontario and Yukon. Like her grandmother before her (the 'Ivanel' of her pen name) she has written her entire life, first publishing two poems with Annick Press in Toronto when she was only 11. She has been a high school English and Drama teacher, working and living in the highlands of Scotland, the moors of Yorkshire, and the Rockies of Montana and the Yukon, before settling in the east of Canada.
