”Fuck, Towers. You might be my favorite everything.”

perfect for readers who enjoy sports romance with forced proximity. Where they are both driven athletes and the hero is down bad from the jump half because the heroine is so driven toward succeeding in her sport!

I was extremely bored with this one...which is surprising since almost all I read is hockey. The pacing was off to me and didn't since most of the time.

I do not recommend

Yes!!! Another great read from Nichole and she's in her hockey romance era and I'm all here for it!! Abby and Brody were the cutest couple ever! Brody being a hockey player who gets himself into some trouble and ends up in the penalty box ends up being forced to volunteer with kids to help teach them how to skate. This is where he meets Abby and the sparks start flying! Abby is focused on school and figure skating. She has big goals and wants to meet them. She tries to avoid Brody but he's literally everywhere she is and can't help but to just give in. They had great chemistry, funny banter and plenty of spice. Such a super fun and fast read! Highly recommend!

I want Abby, and I’m not stopping until I get her.

What a sweet and spicy read! I loved the easy relationship built between the two college athletes - an Olympic-hopeful figure skater and a top-level hockey player. This is an easy read that will leave you with good vibes. There is relatively no angst, just a supportive, all-in MMC.

It’s a fast-burn MF romance with explicit scenes ranging from hot and heavy to tender lovemaking.

This was my first read from author Nichole Greene. I look forward to grabbing more of her books in the future.

Genre: College Sports Romance
Tropes/Features: Hockey, figure skating, sweet relationship, all-in MMC, ice princess FMC, he falls first, grumpy/sunshine, protective and supportive MMC, forced proximity
Narrator: Dual 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: MF, fast burn, spicy
Book Type/Ending: Standalone with HEA
TW/CW: Available in book

4.5/5 stars!!

okay but this book is so cute how could you not love it or AT LEAST like it a lot?! I literally saw one TikTok and thought ‘aww so cute, why not?’ and I can confirm it was a good choice.

It’s a cute, feel good novel about a reformed fboy hockey player turned golden retriever and his feisty figure skater who comes into her own. Loved the character developments and all the ways Brody is obsessed with Abby, so cute. If that’s your cup of tea and you like a good chunk of spice mixed with an interesting plot then I recommend this for you!! Here’s hoping to know more about Lana & her man in the future🤞🏽

He amado cada palabra. Y me encanta que no haya habido ruptura en el tercer acto, que hubiese habido tanta comunicación desde el principio, que Broddy fuese tan comprensivo.
10/10 para mi.

Good morning, first of all I would like to say that I never thought I would be writing this but... here is my new top 3 of men written by Nichole:
1. Broddy
2. Heel
3. Massimo
Writing this has been very difficult for me, but this way maybe you can understand how VERY important this book has been for me.
Sh*t, not only did I love it, it was exactly what I needed right now and it warmed my black heart so much.
I really enjoyed this book, its speed, its characters, the setting, everything.
I have loved Abby from the first moment, her passion, her fight, her character, how she has never stopped fighting for what she loved. Even though everything was against her, she has never stopped trying harder and harder to achieve it and I admire her a lot for that. She has made me feel too much, I have put myself in her place too much and that is for no other reason than thanks to Nichole's pen, which makes you delve into the book, into the feelings of the characters, which describes so well each and every one of them. each of the things that pass through his mind, and even so it has been a very quick and very light read.
And Broddy, oh god, what can I say about Broddy, at one point I asked myself where can I get Broddy? The handsome and arrogant hockey captain who will not stop fighting for the person he loves for a moment. But, suddenly I realized that I already had a Broddy, a person who supports me beyond belief in all my dreams and well, maybe that's why this book has made me more excited than necessary.
I have loved every word. And I love that there was no breakup in the third act, that there was so much communication from the beginning, that Broddy was so understanding.
10/10 for me.

When Brody gets into a big fight in a game, he suspended for 8 games and is forced to work in a program to teach children to skate. When he showed up to the class he’s met with someone who hates hockey more than anyone, Abby. She is an ice skater who isn’t supported by her family to achieve her dreams of skating professionally. When these two get together there was a lot of tension initially which was quickly replaced with a heated attraction to one another.

What I liked :
Thin Ice was a cute hockey romance with a lot of steam.
I liked how passionate Abby was with ice skating
I loved the kids from the program they taught together
I loved the writing style
I loved Brody & Abby’s undeniable chemistry

What I didn’t like was :
How quickly the relationship formed. I felt like both characters didn’t like each other in one chapter and the next chapter they were madly in love. I needed more tension and buildup. I also wanted to know what happened between Brody and the guy he got into a fight with. I would have really enjoyed the story more if it had been 100 pages longer and gave us more depth to the story.

Overall it was a very cute hockey romance 🩷

The blurb sold me on this book. I knew it was a book in my wheel house. I'm so glad I gave this new to me author a read because I would have missed out on such a great book! Loved Abby and Brody so much. Brody is assigned to help out the kids after costing himself 8 weeks of playing, but it may just be a blessing in disguise. It puts him in the orbit of Abby. She brings out a whole new side of him in the best of ways. Brody interacting with the kids will melt your heart. I really disliked Abby's stepdad. A real piece of work which made me so happy she has such a great relationship with her dad. This book had the perfect blend of heat, heart, and humor. It has plenty of feels! I love how encouraging and supportive Brody was of Abby's dreams. He was some prime book boyfriend material. I highly recommend this one!

Thin Ice is a sports romance with witty banter, lots of steam, and a protective male lead who falls first!

Abby and Brody are adorable together, and I love how he works so hard to convince the jaded Abby to give him a chance. These are two characters you can't help but root for!

Overall this is a quick, steamy sports romance!

I enjoyed this book. It has the ice skating/hockey element, but it's more Contemporary than the usual dark elements associated with hockey books. I loved the dynamic between the FMC and the MC. This book is definitely a breathe of fresh air with just a little bit of roughness (hockey players)

I... loved its potential. When I read this book's blurb (and let's face it, when I watched the tiktoks about this book) I really had high hopes and thought it would be up my alley. In a way, it was. I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry and the character development, and the relationship these two build was truly swoon-worthy.

BUT

I definitely got turned off right at the very end. A super interesting plot point (ie an ultimatum) was introduced and it had so much potential to really demonstrate the romance and commitment between the MMC and the FMC and what did we get? I time-skip and a narration of what happened during the time-skip where all the conflicts were resolved.

No suspense. No elaboration. Nothing.

Classic case of author deciding to tell and not show. Almost like the author got tired of writing, or the editor decided to wrap up the book because it was long enough.

In conclusion (phew, I never write reviews this long), this + the minor grammatical errors made along the way took a 5 star book down to 1.5 stars and I'm really sad about that.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Oh my, this book was way too good 🥵 Brody being the cutest golden retriever boy and Abby being the grump was just what i needed. Brody is a hockey player and got suspended from playing for 8 weeks, needing to help out at the ice center teaching little kids how to skate with Abby who is a figure skater. So much spice and i was here for every minute of it. Honestly one of my favorite reads of the year!

Thin Ice by Nichole Greene, in this story we meet Brody Bennett, who is a talented but very impetuous hockey player, one day an altercation during a game leads him to be suspended and he is forced to work as a volunteer teaching children how to skate. What was initially intended as punishment ends up being very fun for Brody, he enjoys the company of children and if they add to this a beautiful girl who leaves him shocked, it's a perfect situation. Abby Towers is a figure skater, her concentration is on her studies and participating in the Olympic Games, she loves spending her free time teaching children how to skate, but everything is going to change when she meets Brody, she tries to keep him at a distance, but their lives continue to cross paths and as she gets to know Brody, her defenses begin to crumble.
This story is fresh and once you start reading it you won't want to put it down, Brody is completely charming and you can't help but fall, like Abby, under his charm, a story that will leave you smiling, if you love sports romance this story is for you. Totally recommended!
*Thanks to Nichole Greene and Peachy Keen for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*

¡Recomendada Totalmente!

Thin Ice by Nichole Greene is a college sports romance. This love story is about Brody Bennett and Abby Towers. Brody is a hockey player in his senior year of college and is on the path to the NHL. He gets himself in trouble on the ice and gets suspended for a fight that accidentally had him elbowing a ref in the face. In addition to not being able to play for eight weeks, he is forced to volunteer. Abby is a college student and figure skater trying to make it to the Olympics. She volunteers in her free time by teaching kids how to ice skate. She absolutely loves it and isn't thrilled when she finds out that Brody will be assisting her.

Brody falls hard and fast for Abby. Abby tries to keep her distance and her walls up, but Brody wasn't having any of it. When he sees what he wants, he goes for it. He is nothing but persistent with Abby and I was here for it! It was so fun to see Abby and Brody teach the little kids to ice skate. Those kids were such cute characters and it was precious to see their interactions with Abby and Brody. Not only do Abby and Brody spend time with each other volunteering, but they actually end up having a class together. Brody makes sure to sit next to Abby and they work on a class project together. The more Abby gets to know Brody, the more she realizes he isn't what she had expected. Abby didn't get the support she needed from her mother or stepdad, so it was great she was able to get that support from Brody. He was definitely patient with Abby and I just swooned when she became his everything. I really loved their banter. They had amazing chemistry and I couldn't get enough of Brody's dirty mouth. He was protective and possessive and such a perfect book boyfriend.

Once I started reading this book, I was hooked and couldn't put it down. I definitely recommend checking out Thin Ice, especially if you are in the mood for a sweet and spicy college sports romance with a HEA.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

A solid 3.5 for me. I really did enjoy this and wish goodreads would introduce half stars because 3 seems a little harsh, but this isn’t a 4 star read for me either. I really liked both main characters. Brody fell hard and fast for Abby, and I really liked how besotted and smitten he was. It was kind of bordering on insta lust/love but the thing that makes it manageable for me is that Abby didn’t fall as quickly as Brody. He fell first, and waited for her to catch up. Yes, he was basically all in very quickly, and much earlier than Abby, but it didn’t feel gross and cringey and too insta lovey. So on that front, I liked this. And now, despite me saying I didn’t mind how quickly Brody fell, how quick the story felt was actually a downside for me. It felt very rushed, and I didn’t really feel like we got to know these characters well or spend much time with them. Each chapter, or every couple of chapters, the story was moving quite quick and they often led to bedroom scenes so it didn’t really feel like we got to know these as a couple, or got to know their friends very well. Also, the external conflict was building, the drama was just coming up and we were about to see it unfold, and the next chapter is a fast forward to 5 months later, where we are told what happened instead of seeing it play out. And those last couple of chapters, again, felt very rushed and brushed over just for the sake of finishing the story. I didn’t like that. I did however like that there was no third act break up. And that when there was an opportunity for one to occur, Brody and Abby did something many, many, many other leads seem to forget they can do, and they talked about it and didn’t decided what was best for the other on their own, but rather worked it out together. Loved that - for both them and for me. So overall: this was cute, it was fun, the concept of hockey player an figure skater is one I loved, and I flew through it. There were just a couple of things that were stopping this from being a 4 star read for me personally.

I have very conflicting thoughts on this.

This book feels unfinished. And what I mean by that is that in the penultimate chapter everything is going fine and dandy and then we get to the final chapter prior to the epilogue and it just jumps 5 months and in the first few pages of this chapter we get told what should have been the climax of this story and the events that followed. Then we get to the epilogue that is a few years time jump, which that’s normal, and there’s a break and another 2 year time jump. Again. The epilogue is not the issue here.

It almost feels as if the author had a limit of getting this book over in 250 pages and got to the penultimate chapter and was like “oh shit I have a single chapter to wrap all these loose ends up” and then proceeded to do that.

Why was the time jump between the second to last chapter and the last chapter longer than the whole time from the beginning of the book til that point, which by my calculations is about 10-12 weeks MAX?

Looking at this in the most basic elements we got the composition, we have a conflict introduced, there’s a hell of a lot of rising action and that’s where the book practically ends. In a single chapter the climax is brushed off, there’s no falling action or resolution.

If this book had maybe another 100 or so pages where the last chapter is expanded on I would without a doubt give it 4-5 stars. I really was enjoying it. It was engaging and I was invested. But because of this massive issue, I have to say the ending ruined it for me. And it’s not the contents or events that happened it’s quite literally the composition of the ending.

I’m interested to see if this is just a one off situation in the author’s other work.

ARC provided by the author.

Every once and awhile we need to take a break from all of the dark and twisted things and read something that feels like mentally bathing in cotton candy. That's this book. It's an adorable, restorative read and it CANNOT BE MISSED.

Brody gets Mighty Ducks-ed and has to do community service at the program Abby runs teaching little kids how to skate. He's immediately attracted to her, but as their lives start to intersect, it's her personality that really pulls him in. She's feisty but kind, and Brody can be himself with her. Brody is smitten, and an all around good guy, and finds it easy to tell and show Abby how incredible he thinks she is. Both of them get what they need from the other.

But mmm, Brody. He works hard and plays like a devil on the ice, but he's the best at being supportive. Even his dirty mouth isn't hotter than the sweet stuff he says to Abby, and how much we know he means it from reading his POV. This man is decisive, and puts in the work for the things that he wants.

I now have a personal vendetta against Abby's stepfather. We see so much of Abby being an absolute boss - getting school done, putting in the work on the ice, and managing her whole life while feeling she's utterly alone - and yet, he breaks her a little bit over and over by being an absolute twatwaffle. Don't worry, she gets her moment to boss up to him, too.

This book was cute as hell, made me tear up with smiles, and appreciate Brody for what a cheesy but loving dork he is. You will feel lighter after you read it. You will smile. Trust me.

Get ready to have all of your heart strings pulled in the best possible way.

Hot head, Brody Bennett is on thin ice after causing a fight with a Hockey rival that ended up with a referee getting hit in the face. Getting put on 8 weeks suspension during the beginning of his senior hockey career, seems like the worst possible thing in the world. When he is forced to help coach a bunch of kiddos to teach them how to ice-skate; that's just the icing on top.

Abby Towers is not ready to baby sit some over inflated, ego, hockey loving little man during one of her favorite times of teaching ice skating. She has her hands full and wants nothing more than to be in the Olympics and ice-skate for the gold.

When they meet, Brody is enchanted with her beauty but not sure of her ice-cold demure Abby has with him. After they realize they have more in common than they thought, it all begins -The heated stares, the longing touches. Soon, it explodes in their face and a romance is born.

"Did I just fall all the way in love with my frosty ice queen?"

With her parent's drama and the way, they just don't care. Brody becomes her everything. Their relationship soon blossoms into that one-of-a-kind, true love that you can't stop turning the pages for.

Before they know it, Hockey is not just his everything. And she has much more than ice-skating going forward. They have each other!

"That's not girlfriend material, it's wifey sh*t..."

I really loved this story. I thought it ended kind of abruptly, but the multiple epilogues made up for it. I loved them together and Brody is the BEST type of book boyfriend. I loved how much he helped Abby and brought her closer to her dreams. They both succeeded and did it together. And it ended in the best HEA in the epilogues.

*Overall 4.5/5
*Heat? 5/5
*Fast burn
*Dual first person POV
*Ends abruptly but multiple HEAs

I absolutely loved this book!!!

Here are your need-to-knows:
It's a college sports romance with a reverse grumpy/sunshine couple where he, the nose-dive-all-in hockey player MMC, falls first for the closed-off ice princess FMC. It's a spicy standalone with a solid HEA and no third act breakup.

Brody Bennett is any bookish girl's dream book boyfriend. He falls first and he falls hard for Abby Towers. He's there to protect her and defend her against any and everybody. For as much distance as she tries to put between them, he closes in on it immediately and it teaches her how to be loved and supported, something she was never able to learn in her family's household.

This couple connects on the ice, as they are forced to work together to teach skating lessons to little ankle biters, and off the ice, when they run into each other around town or in class. The tension is there immediately and the spice doesn't take long to start up after that.

Their banter, their chemistry, and their spice had me hooked from Chapter 1.

I started this at 1AM thinking I'd only get a chapter or two in before heading to bed, but I sat still and read until the book was completed in a mere 3 hours.

Thank you Nichole Greene and I can't wait to read your next book. (P.S. give me a spinoff of Brody's sister and bestie next!!!)

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

Nichole has done it again! This book was sweet, romantic, and features an overprotective MMC, who will do anything for both his family, and the woman he loves.

“𝑭𝒖𝒄𝒌, 𝑻𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒔. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈.”

Abby is a figure skater who wants to make it to the Olympics. But her stepfather only cares about his son and the career he has in the NHL, while her mother sits by and doesn’t stand up for her daughter. Brody is a college hockey player with aspirations to make it to the NHL after he graduates. But after an altercation with a player on another team sees him suspended for several games at the beginning of the season, he’s sent to the local ice rink, where he meets Abby, to help teach kids how to skate and to help improve his image. But what neither of them expect is for there to be a connection…he falls first though because she’s not the biggest fan of hockey players, thanks to her family’s preferential treatment of her stepbrother.

Honestly, Brody is the absolute sweetest. From how he is with the kids, to helping Abby with things going on in her life, and being a super protective older brother, he’s just swoon worthy! Reading Abby’s family struggles broke my heart, but it’s an HEA, things work out in the end. I absolutely adored all the hockey team guys and how sweet they were with Abby, even if it made Brody a little jealous. Oh, and the spice did not disappoint 🔥💦 10/10 recommend this book, and honestly, anything written by Nichole!!

I received an advanced reader copy of Thin Ice by Nichole Green from Peachy Keen author services. This is a 4.5 star read for me, rounded up to a 5 because I loved it!

First of all, both Abby & Brody are just so darn likable. Even though she tries to act tough, there is a vulnerablity to Abby that you can't help but relate to or at least empathize with. Brody...I know we say this a lot in the book world, but Brody was book boyfriend perfection personified, but not in an over the top way. As a reader, I could feel Brody falling in love with Abby. I loved how he just understood her and gave her everythng she needed.

There is no third act breakup in Thin Ice which I am always grateful for. A conflict does arise and I'm not going to lie, I thought we were headed down the path to miscommuncaton station, but nope! I love a couple who can communicate.

The chemistry between Abby & Brody is nearly palpable. The spice was top notch, grade A, amazing! The pacing of their relationshp was done so well. Just a well-written story all around.

My only little gripe is with the epilogue, I don't want to spoil it here, but I guess I was just suprised in the drection Abby's ice skating career went. Although we knew she was a talented skater, I just assumed she was probably aging out of the sport and going to move. That's a total me thing, and I'm being super picky even mentionng that detail! Thin Ice was so good, definitely pick it up if you are a hockey romance loving reader!
