CLASSIC SWORD & SORCERY IS BACK The stakes couldn't be higher. Human existence is under threat from a colossal evil. None will escape its long reach unless an ageing wizard can safeguard a nation's heirs until they come of age. But the solitary mage is long past his prime. Old and feeble he faces almost certain death against rising odds. What he really needs is a champion; a flashing blade to fight by his side in the ultimate battle. But noble heroes are hard to find. In his desperation the old wizard ensnares the first prospect he comes across; an untamed barbarian named KUDA. No kind of hero Kuda finds himself unwittingly swept up into a sorcerous maelstrom of bat-winged demons and sky-buccaneers. For better or for worse the future of humankind now rests on... THE SWORD OF THE BARBARIAN.
Thane follows up the first volume with a much longer sword and sorcery novel. Very fast paced and entertaining. The only gripe I have is Kuda is only in about 20 percent of the book. Although, his presence is certainly felt. Good foreshadowing for more adventures to come. Recommended for old school sword and sorcery fans.
SWORD OF THE BARBARIAN BY john Thane is a character- based sword and sorcery adventure. When a lurking evil plots to enslave humanity only a barbarian's sword and a wizard's sorcery can stand against it. An unlikely duo amongst a wide cast of characters that leap off the page in a tale that sizzles with suspense and wry humour. The most fun I've had with a book in ages.
