Annith, a human, is the pampered ward of Metellus, a demon crime lord. When Metellus starts showing a romantic interest in her, a scared Annith runs away. Metellus catches her and assigns her a guard, Ruuk, a troll war veteran who reluctantly takes shady jobs for money. Ruuk's only job is to stop Annith's escape, but as he gets to know her, he's wants to help. But fleeing with Metellus' mistress could cause their doom. Can they find a way to escape to a happy ever after together?
