Enjoyed this page turner of a book. It moves right along and keeps the suspense level pretty high. Dylan is still helping the FBI look for Charles who has escaped from prison. She is still no closer to finding out who murdered her father. We also find out Andrew has secrets. Can't wait to read the next book in this series!
While this read had an intense and interesting plot, this author is young and a bit immature in her writing. Too much head time in the heads of characters that does nothing to advance the plot but just slows the book down. She has the beginnings of becoming a good author but has a ways to go. Also, don’t mind cliffhangers to get you to read another book, but I found this particular cliffhanger to be too big a deal. You don’t get a conclusion to this book. I am not interested in reading further.
Meh. Listened to the first one and wasn’t over the moon about it accidentally selected this one on my hoopla to listen to today. Don’t have very many books left this month so I thought I would tough it out. I just don’t like the main character- I hate how she’s so delicate she’s afraid of doorways but the next minute going to to toe with an armed man and chasing criminals with no regard to the fact she doesn’t even like guns. Then demanding she stays on a case when reality, nobody has that kind of authority, don’t get to just the man that you stay on a case with law-enforcement because you feel like it. Lol Also feel like as with the first book…. The timeline seems to go incredibly fast. Everything is like in a few days span. I’m going to skip the 3rd book.
The way the psychopathic mind works is very scary but also extremely interesting. If you are not scared to plunge into that darkness and discover some uncomfortable truths, this series is definitely a must-read!
Trying to figure out if Dr. Cameron did commit the murders kept you wondering and hoping he would get caught. Loved the self hypnosis thought. Does these two books hold the record for the number of killings in about 500 pages?
I stayed up until 4:30am because I couldn't stop reading! I'm going to be tired but It was worth the lack of sleep. Trust me if you are thinking about purchasing a book by Kate Bold do it. You won't be disappointed.
FBI asks Dylan to help find her ex-mentor after he escaped from jail. After some effort, she gets rejected from the investigation but she persists (and doesn't pass on clues). In my opinion, she's not 'brilliant.'
I don’t read the first in this series, but never felt lost or that I missed something. Always make me wonder if I should not have tried to go into something to solve crimes, I love the thrill and mystery!
I liked this one better than the first in this series, but I'm still not sold on Dylan First. She's another of those female characters that keeps deliberately putting herself in dangerous situations that usually require someone to rescue her. I rate this one 4 stars.
What can I say! Another excellent book from Kate Bold. I read it in one sitting, could not put it down. The suprise of who was the killer was a delightful twist . Dylan had suspected something wrong and in the end she was right. Excellent.
Overall, I thought the book was very entertaining and easy to read. It was a page turner to say the least, and it never got boring for one second. I definitely wouldn’t plan to be up early in the morning when you’re reading this book 😂.
She’s helping the FBI capture and escaped killer. The killer was her former boss. As a psychologist she has insight but no training so her FBI contact wants her to go home.
