Burdened by a past tragic event, (over which she had no control but still blames herself) newbie FBI Special Agent and profiler Dylan First is haunted by the fugitive Dr Cameron, her Hannibal Lecter-like, former mentor-turned-monstrous serial-killer, aka The Puppet Master.

After a woman's body is discovered in an odd pose, suspicion naturally gravitates to Cameron, so Dylan's put on the case under a senior Agent and a retired one, who's been protecting her.
When a second body is revealed, the race is on to find the connection and save a third...but who's the mysterious killer in the shadows?

I listened to the audio book, purchased from Chirpbooks.com. It was an AI voice and I found the obvious mispronunciations to be annoying. The story was OK itself, but a bit typical and expected. Near the end, it was obvious who the killer was and I was frustrated that the FBI agents seemed to have no clue.
