Spunky's young master is on the verge of making his dream of working in the circus come true, until a nasty prank makes him hated by everyone, and Mark and Spunky have to prove that he was not involved in the prank in order to set things right once more.
The illustrations in the book are colorful and cartoon-like. On every double page, Spunky's yellow duck is hidden somewhere in the picture, which makes it a fun book for those who don't read yet. However, the text would need to be read to children as it's somewhat complicated for the age the story is geared towards. There are a total of 12 titles in Janette Oke's Animal Friends series; Spunky's Diary is another title starring Mark and Spunky.
