"Softly brushed, suggestively textured illustrations depict a 'curious little mouse' and a 'curious little cat' who become fast friends...This unassuming picture book speaks volumes about the nature of friendship."--Publishers Weekly
Sweet and simple story of a baby mouse who wanders off instead of listening to his mother explain the ways of the world and meets a kitten who has done the same. They play all day, and then bring their siblings the next day. I was concerned for a moment that but that did not happen. Phew. Thanks, Mr Bogacki!
With only a sentence or two per page this felt a bit too short, but I see there are sequels.
A very strong visual story done in a beautiful paint/brushstroke style. A mouse meets a cat and they begin to play. They both didn't listen to their familes and don't know it is wrong. It's kind of a preschool romeo and juliet. The syle is sweet and wonderful. The story is small but says a lot. It doesn't quite really end at all is its main flaw but a feast for the eyes.
