It's everyday you see new teams of super-heroes on comic book shelves, so it's refreshing to see it told in novel form, and it got my attention, especially the mix of angels, aliens and humans on Earth. The author apparently pulled the characters from friends and animals in his own life, which as they say, write what you know. It makes for an intimate and thoroughly enjoyable action story about an awkward young team of aliens with super powers, a disreputable government agent, and a mysterious angel, all fighting against a powerful crazed alien. Pretty good stuff.
