Yep... yep.... wait for it...
I kinda heart this story.
I mean it kinda had all the elements that I love in my smut.
It has hot intimate scenes, it had dub-con, it has some slave actions, and it also had a level of heart that I totally didn't expect.
I was really really routing for Za. She was a soft female but she was powerful in the way she reacted to all the situations. Technically, she was prepared to be in a harem. So, for her to from one to the other wasn't shocking for her. However, she didn't wilt under the situation. She stood up and went about learning things. She somehow grew as a character to the point where the hero didn't want to let her go.

Really short, well written erotic romance set in the Viking era. Naturally, the characters speak like contemporary people in a Viking cos play :) Fleshed out and developed into a full HR, I think I could have possibly loved it. There were interesting secondary characters and a lot of background story that was hinted at, that I would have liked to learn more about. Though it doesn't exactly end in a cliffy, definitely left me wanting more.

A very enjoyable Viking romance where Leif kidnaps Zahira from a harem and brings her home. The sex scenes are good and the story is, although kind of a standard in bodice ripper terms, very engaging. Suspension of belief required as the real Vikings were not so kind and caring from all accounts (I can say that as I am Norwegian and Swedish so have many stories passed down through my family). The writing was a cut above what I typically find in these short stories (I consider anything under 50 pages a short story and under 15 more of a pamphlet). Of course it could have been fleshed out in so many ways until you hit the 300-500 page tomes of yesteryear but here you get the basics and it is very pleasing. There isn't really enough to get deeply in - and many things go unexplained more's the pity. Add another 120 pages and you would really have yourself a winner!
My only other caveat is that it took me about 20 minutes to read - in general the price seems high for this length read. I do typically avoid shorts for this reason. A few swats makes this the most basic of casually kinky.

This short 15,000 word count story is a quickie read that has more adult content than story line going on. Zahira, harem slave, is captured on the very night she is to become a concubine for her master by Northmen raiders. The leader, Leif Svensson, claims her for his own and brings her back to his home where she becomes his thrall (slave) along with many others. Yet there's something about her that has him keeping her for his own without sharing her. To avoid having to pleasure multiple masters she must show her new master that it's in his best interests to keep her for sole pleasure.
This is a historical story with BDSM erotica featuring Viking raider masters and their slaves. The virgin harem girl, Zahira, is captured and at the mercy of men who enslave captured women as thralls. They are allowed to do anything/everything to said slave who has no say in the matter. Sets the stage for dub con and taboo themes right? Well, the author doesn't go that route, she takes the sensual BDSM scene route between the two central characters that have more of a role play feel than any true core principle action. Yet it does scratch the itch if you like that sort of thing.
Personally, I'm a plot driven person so when I read superficial storylines that really doesn't work I take issue with the overall book. In this case the Vikings were too nice and the thralls too polite and accepting of competition. I can't say that I also agree with the back story for Zahira or her treatment once she was captured. There was a lot of potential here that just didn't come through so while I enjoyed the adult content parts of this book it's not enough to have me do a shout out for the overall story.

As a little girl, Zahira was auctioned off and purchased for the Harem. Now don't freak out because it isn't that bad. She wasn't mistreated or anything. They just pick out girls that potentially may make good Concubines - or if they are extremely fortunate, wives. It wasn't that bad a childhood at all. But finally the big night has arrived and she is all wrapped up as a pretty package for her first presentation.
Just as a band of bloodthirsty Vikings show up causing mayhem and chaos and happen upon someone they believe to be a wife that they can ransom back for an exorbitant fee. But when their Jarl finds out she isn't what he thought she was...
Not a bad story. A bit short as it leaves a lot of unexplored territory - I am not sure if the author intends a sequel or not but there is certainly room for either that or an expanded tale.
Just a tiny touch of BDSM - she is punished for being on the bed without permission (in a manner a lot more civilized than in Safewords Davenport and Chiffon).
It actually kind of reminded me of Eaters of the Dead (perhaps better known as the 13th Warrior).
Just as a band of bloodthirsty Vikings show up causing mayhem and chaos and happen upon someone they believe to be a wife that they can ransom back for an exorbitant fee. But when their Jarl finds out she isn't what he thought she was...

This book was a bit of an odd-bird.
For one, the plot and characterizations were bare-bone. The only thing I can tell you about the heroine is that she's resigned to her fate and pretty. The hero is the usual alpha-male who will not be denied. That's pretty much it. The plot (what there is of it) is rushed and utterly predictable.
And yet, in spite of all these failings, I really enjoyed the story. I think it's a credit to the author that she has managed to make what amount to an outline into something so fun to read.
I can only hope this is the beginning of a series, as I'd like to see these characters being fleshed out and find out their fate.
Also, blame the new show Vikings, but I keep picturing Ragnar while reading the book (thinking of it, that might be the main reason why I enjoyed it so much)

Historical romance is one of my favorite types of books with spicy sex scene to heat up the romance and make a good story. Raiding Vikings take a young girl from the harem to become the thrall (slave) to Leif the Chieftain for his village. The historical aspects of the life of Vikings were interesting as a historical background for the story. It is told from Zahira's point of view and how she learns to adapt to the new culture she finds herself a part of while serving her new master. Leif is in complete control of her and her life; he treats her well as he falls in love with the mysterious dark haired beauty that he enslaved. The ending was abrupt and left the reader feeling like the story could be continued by the author in the future; it had an unfinished feeling.

This one was okay , i'm sure we dont read these for the plot lol at least i dont ;) . But it wasn't bad, i mean who doesnt like viking's !

A bit meh for me. An okay read but there's nothing new, nothing outstanding and fairly lack lustre in keeping my attention - through the sex scenes and otherwise.
