This is a fun read. It follows closely on the heels of Summons, but following a different character (Talyn). I identify more strongly with Talyn than I did with Rhysel, so caveat emptor on my recommendation. My one complaint is that the story sort of builds and resolves repeatedly, with varying degrees of intensity or importance. In one "book" (there are five "books" within this one), Talyn inadvertently launches a war, killing thousands. In another, the largest conflict is that he goes to college and converts to a new religion. So the tension seems chronically uneven. This surprised me, as Alicorn's earlier works (the book-length Twilight fanfics) didn't suffer from this problem at all. Never-the-less, I liked Summons, and I loved Blood. You might, too.
Eskeipistiska izklaides literatūra manā gaumē. Prieciņi: liels daudzums dažādu gudru varoņu, kuru dzīvē liela nozīme izglītībai; politika, kura ir sarežģītāka, nekā izskatās; loģiska fantāzija.
