ROB MARSHALL has vast experience in the outdoors and has enjoyed tramping, hunting and fishing for many years. I have had a love of New Zealand’s native bush and our beautiful mountains and rivers all my life. I was inspired to write a hunting novel based on my adventures hunting and tramping in the wilderness. My inspiration was driven by a desire to share descriptions of New Zealand’s native bush, mountains and rivers with people who are not able to see it for themselves. As a hunter and tramper you are always looking into the next valley or over to the next mountain or peak to see what is there, knowing that you will have to go and have a look. New Zealanders are fortunate to have such a readily accessible, beautiful environment which we can explore whenever we want to. It is a Paradise which I treasure. There seemed to be quite a few books about hunting around at the time so I thought I would do something different and created the novel, Paradise Broken. It is set in the magnificent New Zealand bush adventuring up a big wild river. My experiences provided me with the opportunity to develop a story line and share descriptions of the beautiful scenery and the wildlife in the bush that I have enjoyed over many years. The characters are inspired by people I have met in the bush on my hunting trips. Rob Marshall – author of Paradise Broken
