This was my first foray into paranormal romance. I was expecting something like a Hallmark movie, perhaps with a few sex scenes, where the main characters just happened to be supernatural creatures. Perhaps other books in the genre fit that mold, but "The Robin Princess" pleasantly surprised me. The story was solid, full of political intrigue, action, and some genuinely wicked characters. Sure, there is a strong romantic component as well as some spice, but they all work in service of the larger story.

I appreciate the author's world-building, as well as its scarcity. This kingdom is ruled by bird shifters of various species, and I can accept that at face value. The author doesn't try to over-explain or justify anything, which runs the risk of bogging things down with unnecessary exposition. The story proceeds at a brisk pace and I was never bored. I also appreciate the symmetry in how the book starts and ends; that was a nice touch.

This is the author's first book, and the copyright page notes that it wasn't professionally edited. Although there are occasions where this is noticeable, I would encourage potential readers not to let that dissuade them. This book has a lot going for it, and I will be adding "The Owl Guard" and "The Crow Enforcer" to my TBR.

I got the Kindle version of "The Robin Princess." The feeling when reading a physical book isn't the same as reading one digitally. However, I can still say that it's totally worth it.

I love how the story was narrated; I can vividly picture the setting in my head. The scenes felt ethereal. I love the characters; they all add spice to the main characters' journey. The highlight of it all is Ben and Dela's love story, which keeps me on the edge! I keep waiting for more interactions in every chapter, and that's what kept me hooked. The twists also surprised me. It was really written intricately. Though, I might have liked it more if Dela and Ben had a few first-person POV sections. Their feelings toward each other would've been tickling to the heart if expressed in their own words and thoughts.

Overall, amazing read! Looking forward to the second book of the Wing Mate Series!

Debut novel is a hit

This is Burrows debut novel. There are some minor errors throughout, but NONE of them take away from this amazing story!
I was hooked almost immediately and never wanted to put the book down. I likely would have read it in one sitting if life cooperated with my reading schedule.
This story takes an underdog FMC and makes her into so much more. I loved watching her and many other characters grow and change throughout.
There were also a few surprise twists to keep you guessing throughout.
I think the ending/resolution felt a little long and drawn out to me, personally. We got to that part and I was surprised I had so much of the book left. Everything was important but personally I feel like it could be condensed slightly. But that's really my only complaint.
Looking forward to what book 2 has in store.

I don't read much in the fantasy genre, as I get too lost in the world building. I'd definitely recommend this book for people who don't reach much fantasy since the world building was straight forward and didn't get weighted down with unnecessary complications.

It started off a little slow, but still enjoyable. However when the Robin princess stood up for someone to her own detriment, I was sold. By the second act I was caught up in the story and kept turning pages.

Romance? Political corruption? Betrayal? Family drama? Found family? Check, check, check, check

I'll be reading the rest in this series.

Absolutely brilliant

I lost all sense of time as I kept myself glued to this book. The emotions it invoked in me were so raw and unhinged. The plot twists were brilliant and it came to the perfect happily ever after. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series.

New shifter series for the win

I love the idea of other types of shifters. I also love the show burn fated mates.
Rowen has created a world full of realms filled with, shifters, elves, God, demons and more. I can't wait to read book 2

Definitely enjoyed the book and storytelling but you can tell this is a new author it was a little muddled in over explaining things and then jumping to different things. I still enjoyed the overall vibe and will be reading the second book!

The story caught my interest, and the emotional peaks struck deep. The spice is minimal, the passion intense, and the story was a fun read. The characters are vivid, as is the storyline and romance between Adelaide and Rueban. Great read!
