Hooking up in the alley behind the local dive bar wasn’t my usual style, but after one martini too many, I gave into my impulses. I banged Roman Montgomery, former Marine and current hot AF bodyguard to the mayor of Seaglass Beach. So I was shocked when I walked into court the next day and caught the eye of the defendant in my new land title case. The case I was strong-armed into taking—pro bono, no less—to pay the gambling debt my deadbeat dad owed the Capelli brothers.
Now I’m suing my one-night stand and his family on a dubious land claim. Even an embarrassing disclosure to the judge about my sexy conflict of interest doesn’t get me dismissed from the case.
I’ve lived my entire life following the rules, coloring in the lines. And I give my all to every case, every time.
But this time, my heart’s on the line—and I’m not sure I want to win.
I absolutely loved Unrivaled an incredible small-town love at first sight love story, the third book in her Seaglass Beach series. I loved Unrivaled and am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Kara Kendrick has shown readers that she is an amazing storyteller and is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors to read. It was impossible to put Unrivaled down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love how Kara Kendrick always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. Unrivaled is filled with the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments that I have come to love and expect in a love story, and Kara Kendrick did not disappoint with the delivery, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Unrivaled is the story of Skye Adams, a lawyer, and Roman Montgomery, former Marine and bodyguard for the Seaglass Beach mayor. Skye recently relocated to Seaglass Beach to be closer to her father. Salena learns that her father owes money to the Capellis. In order to eliminate her father’s debt and save his life, Skye agrees to represent the Capellis in a land title case. Skye heads to Manta Ray’s and meets Roman and hooks up in the alley. Skye is surprised to see Roman at the defendant’s table the next morning in her land title case. Skye tries to get herself recused from the case because of her relationship with Roman. The judge warns her to stay away from Roman and that she believes the case has merit. Skye will not reveal to Roman the real reason that she has taken on this case for the Capellis. As Skye is researching the case, she discovers that the evidence that the Capellis supplied her with is fraudulent. Once again, Skye approaches the judge and this time she is successfully removed from the case. As a result of being removed from the case she quits the law firm where she was working. Conversation between Skye and Roman flows so easily, with innuendos and playful banter, and they constantly flirt with one another. I love everything that Roman does for Skye, especially getting her father safely into rehab and keeping her safe from the Capellis when unexplained events happen after she withdrew from their case, including having her stay with him and their relationship changed. As Skye and Roman spend time together things change between them. I love that Roman believes Skye even though King does not trust her. I love the chemistry between Roman and Skye. I loved the heart-to-heart conversations that Skye has with Roman. I love the surprise that is revealed regarding the Montgomery’s mother. I love that Juliett Capelli is willing to meet with King regarding the validity of her brother’s land title case against the Montgomerys and that she helps them. I love Roman’s proposal and when and where it takes place, and that they both their real feelings for one another. My favorite part of a Kara Kendrick love story is always the epilogues that go above and beyond the happily ever after, especially the bonus epilogue, it is my favorite part of the story, especially the surprise that was revealed. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Unrivaled and catching up with the other characters in the series, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoy all the interactions among the Montgomery siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. Kara Kendrick’s descriptions are so real, I was right there with Skye and Roman in Seaglass Beach. I loved catching up with Parker, Liv, Poppy, and Griffin, it felt like a family reunion. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Who does not love a family that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Unrivaled, who does not love a small-town love at first sight love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I received an advance copy from the author.
4.5 Star Review Unrivaled (Seaglass Beach #3) by Kara Kendrick
I love small town romance and having read the previous books in the Seaglass Beach series I could not wait to jump into Unrivaled which is the third book.
This is former marine Roman and lawyer Skye ‘s story and it was one that I quickly became invested in. Having met Roman before I could not wait to see what Ms. Kendrick had in store for him and the woman who would claim his heart. A passionate hookup behind the local bar was all it was meant to be. But fate had plans for these two; the chemistry between them is intense and they soon find it impossible to resist
This book ticked numerous boxes for me. The characters were easy to relate to and engaging. I enjoyed their journey; it was heart-warming and entertaining as they challenged one another. The secondary characters were fun and I cannot wait to read more in the series.
I am in love with Seaglass Beach, FL!! This series just keeps getting better and better! Roman & Skye are so perfect for each other that even a conniving, generational enemy could come between them. Roman is the caring man she’s never had & she melts the walls around his heart. I can’t wait for more from the Montgomerys & I guess the Capellis. 🥰🥰
Thanks to the author for the eARC of this beautiful story.
Unrivaled by Kara Kendrick
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (0-5) Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (0-5) I bump up for public places.
What I’m Starry-Eyed Over: 🤩 First line winner: “It all started with a bang.” Whoop! Hook-up hotties—wow! Any other greedy readers out there? I love when I don’t have to wait for the steam. 🤩 Re-meet (not so cute) the next day, yikes! 🤩 Small beach town—take me to Seaglass Beach. 🤩 All the feels—lusty goodness, love, longing, and some laughs even with these heavy topics. 🤩 The plot is captivating and the suspense part makes you want to binge read for sure. 🤩 I love how Roman and Skye take turns to follow each other. 🤩 Small town family fun during the holiday season—Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Lots of holiday spirit and beachy holiday vibes. 🤩 Forced proximity so sweet and hot. “I can take care of myself, Roman.” She folds her arms across her chest, but her voice is unconvincing. “I know. But let me take care of you for now.” 🤩 Beautiful dirty talk from our MMC Roman plus Baby, baby girl, and good girl. 🤩 Saving each other/being just what the other needs and so much hope.
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About: 💫 I’m not usually about revenge, but goodness we need some justice for the Capellis. They deserve to pay for their actions.
4.5 ⭐s Talk about an oops moment, this one was a doozy!
This is an interesting story about Skye Adams and Roman Montgomery. She's an attorney who has overcome her background of alcoholic parents and made a good life for herself. He's the mayor’s bodyguard, a former Marine who was injured and took a medical discharge.
She knows her father is, and was, a terrible father but he is her father and she can't turn her back on him. (I have the feeling that this is the final time she will be helping him with his problems.)
Her father owes a large gambling debt to the Capelli brothers. Money he doesn't have, nor does Skye. It's made clear that if the money isn't paid back shortly, her father will have an "accident". He offers her services, as an attorney, to the Capellis in an upcoming lawsuit in lieu of payment.
Acting completely out of character for her, Skye, had a hook-up with a stranger named Roman in the alley behind a bar. The next morning when she walked into Judge Ratler's courtroom acting as the attorney for the Capellis does she realize that one of the defendants is Roman Montgomery.
The lawsuit is a land dispute. The Capellis claim to own the property where the Montgomery's Seaglass Inn occupies. She tries to withdraw from the case but the judge won't allow it. When she uncovers fraudulent paperwork given to her by the Capellis, the judge does allow to to withdraw. However, she's fired. Jagger gives her a deadline to pay her father's debt in full or his trailer will have an "accident".
She has no one to turn to other than Roman. But why would a member of the upstanding and beloved Montgomery family help anyone remotely connected to the sleazy Capelli brothers? And why try to help her father who's still gambling despite the debt he already owes?
There's also a mysterious letter that arrives addressed to the deceased mother of Roman and his siblings.
I'm hoping all the loose ends will be tied up in the final book of the series.
There is both a free prequel and bonus chapter available in this book.
I received an ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Skye is one of those people who always follows the rules, never strays outside the perimeter of those lines... so why did she decide that a one night quickie with a total stranger was such a good idea? She keeps telling herself that was just in the moment, chasing something she wanted and threw all rational thought out of the window.
But now as she stands in the courtroom and looks across the room she really wishes that preverbal window would have shut on her the moment she had her little spontaneous reckless idea. Because there sits the man she just shared one of the hottest nights of her life with...
The pages of Unrivaled are filled with everything necessary to leave your heart happy and put a smile on your face. When these two square off in the courtroom they have a hard time not thinking about what they shared the night before in that alley. All those thoughts conjure up some steamy heated glances, but also make it really hard for Skye to do her job. She is not normally one to flake on her responsibilities, but as soon as she saw Roman in that courtroom she knew it was going to be hard to follow through with the case she set out to win. As they battle it out in courtroom Roman starts to realize maybe Skye isn't offering up all the truths to his questions and he wants to help her, no matter the risk. He'd move heave and earth for that girl if she'd let him... but convincing her accept his help is proving to be difficult!
I loved this newest offering from Ms. Kendrick, her perfectly crafted romance hit me right in the heart and kept me thoroughly entertained. I cannot wait who graces the pages of the next installment!! Highly recommend this one, Skye and Roman will pull you into their world and have you never wanting to leave them!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Skye and Roman have a hot one-night stand, which both feel could lead to more, only to meet the next day in court, Skye as the lawyer and Roman as the defendant on opposing sides of a weird land dispute case. And still, they don’t seem to be able to withstand their mutual attraction. There’s lots of family drama, lots of suspense and small town mobster drama (and lots of steam) before the two can hope for a happy end. It is a well written book with fast-paced plot and (mostly) likeable characters in a small town-big family setting that keeps you turning pages to see what happens next. Still, I am conflicted in my opinion because I tried to like the heroine but abysmally failed - the discrepancy between what we are told the heroine is like (smart, strong, upstanding) and her actions almost made me DNF the book after reading about a third. I persevered to see where the events would end up and if she exonerated herself and to some degree she did but still. I realized that I am probably just not a fan of how the writer portrays female characters (Poppy was also really annoying) so I decided it must be just my personal preference. And the Montgomery men in the book are kinda dreamy and yummy, so there. This was my first book by this writer and I chose it purely based on the blurb, which sounded exciting, not realizing it was a part of an interconnected series. I strongly advise to read the previous books because there were certain things repeatedly mentioned that had happened before, without explanations given. And things happen in this book too that will probably get resolved in future books of the series. If I had known all that going in, I’m guessing my rating would have been a lot higher.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh my Roman!!! I couldn’t put this book down. I have fallen in love with this series and wish I lived in a small town on the beach. I have loved The Montgomery's since the first novella Unexpected. Three books later I feel like I am part of the family. I am now solely vested in the small town rivalry and need the next book because The Capellis need to be caught. I am vested.
I love Roman. Good God, he is the quiet broody alpha-hole we all dream about. He is good looking and loyal to a fault. Nothing comes between him and his family and he will die on that sword. I LOVE that. The scene at the bar where he meets Skye is hot. WOW! I was here for it. Until, I saw where it was headed and screamed “NO” at my kindle.
I love Skye. I love that she is fierce, independent, and also fiercely loyal. Even when she shouldn’t be. I was so mad that she was as loyal as she was because it almost cost her the chance at love. I get the family issues and they are relatable. Blackmail isn’t pretty but she was brilliant. She found a way to get her life back and that was amazing to read.
Their story was a roller coaster ride, but I come from a love story that when you know, you know. It’s gritty, real, and they fought for it. I love that in the story. It makes it relatable. I am also very intrigued where the bomb of a twist will lead to. I am hooked and need answers. The twist also has me wanting to go back and reread a certain book in the Peachtree Grove series. I will be waiting patiently to read book 4, Undone, which is due to come out in March of 2024.
Can be read as a stand-alone but it book 3 on the Seaglass Beach series about the Montgomery siblings.
Roman and Skye hit it off immediately. Both find themselves alone in a bar, and it starts from there. They know of each other in passing, but have never interacted with one another until this night.
After a steamy alley visit, they each find themselves in a courtroom. Skye is a lawyer, after all.. but little does she know.. she is the lawyer for the people fighting against Roman. This instantly causes a rift.
Roman is of course hurt by this, but Skye cannot divulge her reasonings for doing it - she was definitely put in a bad situation thanks to her father. She knows that the people she is defending are not good people but she takes it upon herself to find what is really going on and to stop all this mess.
Roman and Skye’s relationship was great. It was a very fast relationship, but also one of those instances of “when you know, you know.” Roman is there to protect Skye in every situation.
My only downfall to this story was there is was no real conclusion to the Capelli’s threatening Skye. So, they just stopped? Like that? Also, how skye’s dad is doing. Other than that.. good book!
Read Unrivaled if you like -Small town beach vibes -close family -instant attraction -heroine in danger -Steamy chemistry
Roman has seen Skye around the courthouse from time to time and has always thought she was attractive so when they both happen to be at the bar one night they start talking and eventually like their mutual attraction turn into a steamy encounter behind the bar. Both of them felt something more than just physical but the hopes of a future are squished when Roman realizes it’s Skye representing the family suing them.
Something isn’t right and all of Roman’s training comes back when he realizes there must be a reason for why Skye is representing them and when Skye gets threatened all of Roman protectiveness comes out and he does everything he can to keep Skye safe.
Unrivaled is a super quick and steamy little read and it’s book three in the Seaglass Beach series about the Montgomery siblings. I can’t wait for the forbidden love story that is King and Juliette and to find out answers to that mysterious letter delivered.
Thank you @authorkarakendrick for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback
𝐌𝐘 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒: I was extremely blessed to snag an early copy of this romance from the author, and she absolutely 𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐖 𝐌𝐄 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐘 with this beauty. It is a gorgeous addition to 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 & I think my new favourite.
There was so much to love here. Roman and Skye have an interesting start, which I found completely captivating. They were characters that were an absolute pleasure to see develope, both separately and together. They have delicious chemistry, witty banter, and steam that will make your toes curl. The suspense and plot kept me turning the page and begging for more. I loved it. Highly recommend.

When doing the right thing means you might lose everything.
Skye is forced between a rock and a hard place when she's retained to represent the town's nefarious Capellis. If she fails, it means her father's life. If she succeeds, it means the destruction of everything the Montgomery's built and everything she could have had with one particular Montgomery.
When she can no longer in good conscience represent the "bad guys," she removes herself, loses her job, and struggles to find a way to save her father. Informing the man she had smoking hot alley sex with that she is no longer involved with the case quickly puts her under his protection. She's enfolded into the Montgomery family and together they make plans to get her father out of town.
The relationship between Skye and Roman develops quickly, but is written so perfectly you never once think it's too fast. Roman is a swoon-worthy, protective book boyfriend that makes reading romance everything it's supposed to be. Can't wait for King's book.
This is my first full-length novel by Kara Kendrick and I had to ask myself what rock I’ve been hiding under to have missed, at the very least, this series?! I mean I’ve read a couple of her novellas as part of multi-author series but that’s it. Well it needs to be remedied and it most certainly will be. I’m going back and starting this series and adding more to my TBR. Unrivaled is a roller coaster journey for Skye and Roman and we are swept along for the ride. Hot and steamy (such a great start!), sweet and swoony, heartfelt and emotional, with some fun, some sparks, some tension and some drama. It’s the whole she-bang! Bad guys (Capelli’s), good guys (Montgomery’s) and Skye caught in a no-win situation between them. Easy to read and fast paced, with just the right amount of suspense, twists, romance and spice to propel you to that perfect HEA but leave you wanting more. Can’t wait for King’s book next.

I love my visits to Seaglass Beach and this is Skye and former Marine and now bodyguard to the mayor of Seaglass Beach, Roman Montgomery’s story. From the first moment these two met sparks fly, the attraction is instant and the connection is strong but that was before Roman found out Skye was lawyer to the Capelli’s, the towns bad guys who happen to be suing him…… What follows is a game of cat and mouse as Skye does what is needed to protect her father while trying to convince Roman she is not a bad person. This book has me on the edge of my seat as I joined this couple on their rocky journey. I swooned, I sighed, I smiled and at times I held my breath but more importantly I fell for this couple and I found myself hoping they got the HEA they both deserved. Unrivaled is a well written, entertaining story and it’s a great addition to the series. I received this arc from the author for an honest review.
I really liked this romance! Skye and Roman meet in a bar and have a one night stand. The next day, Roman finds out that Skye is representing the other side in their case. I loved the chemistry the two of them have. They constantly had this pull to each other. I loved how protective Roman was of Skye. Once he fell, he fell hard! There are a lot of delicious, steamy moments in this romance. Roman is very much a dirty talking hero. 🔥 I loved reading the scenes where Skye went to live with Roman given the dangerous situation she finds herself in. It made it very domestic between the two of them. I liked that there wasn’t a third act break up in this book! Their relationship just evolved into more! I am so excited for King’s story! I need it now!

If you like a sweet romance with a side of spice set in a cozy little beach town, this is the book for you. The whole Seaglass Beach series is for you.
Skye does not expect to see her steamy one-night stand in a courtroom where she's suing his family. Not that she asked for or wanted to be on the case, but with her dad in trouble - again - she has no choice.
Loved the tension between Skye and Roman. Skye's trying to do right by her family, even though they've never done right by her and could even ruin her career. Roman's trying to do right by his family, but he's drawn to Skye and he believes she's hiding something with this case because why would she let herself get caught up with one of the most troublesome families in Seaglass?
Fast-paced and fun, I really enjoyed this next installment in the series. There was a bit of danger and some surprising family secrets spilled in this unputdownable read.
#unrivaled is book three in the #seaglassbeach series by @authorkarakendrick
Roman and Skye meet after a long and draining day at a bar. They know of each other, but that’s about it. Things turn steamy very quick. The next day she’s representing a horrible family to help her dad and the case is against Roman’s family. Can they get through this possible betrayal that’s she’s done in Roman’s view or is this case already closed?
Roman is a former marine and has great instincts. When he sees skye across the courtroom he’s angry. Something feels off but he’s not sure what. Skye is a lawyer who try’s to always do what’s right but also keeps protecting her dad. Which lands her in hot water. No matter what she can’t escape his mistakes. She strong and determined but something has a hold on her.
I liked this book. It’s not my favorite in the series but still a decent read. I love books that follow a family, while they change members with each book but they keep popping up. Roman’s family is a tight knit group while Skye seems to be on an island of her own. Interested to see where this next book goes.
Skye moved to town to be closer to her dad even though he's never been a good dad. Booze and gambling took over his life. Skye has bailed him out of scrapes too many times, but this one is bad. Their lives are in danger. And the hookup in the alley brings her face to face with Roman in court the next day. Awkward especially since she can't tell him she's being forced to represent the bad guys. Roman has spent most of his years as a loner except for family. No girlfriend, content on his own until he meets Skye and they hookup. He can't forget about her even though she represents the other side in the trial. He's an ex-marine and currently a bodyguard for the mayor. This is the first book in the Seaglass Beach series that I have read. I will be reading the others. Kara writes so well and gives us amazing characters and locations to discover. She loves her plot twists, danger, secrets, and steam.
Unrivaled is book 3 of the Seaglass Beach Series, and it is a hot 🔥 one!! It's a steamy, instalove, small-town, girl gets her hunk romance. Skye is a smart and sassy lawyer who has moved to town to be near her father. Roman is a hunky, ex-military man turned bodyguard for the mayor.
She meets Roman at a bar, and the two are instantly attracted and have a super-steamy hook-up behind the bar.
Skye's father is in debt to some bad people, so Skye takes a land title case pro-bono, not expecting to see Roman on the other side of court.
This story had it all... love, drama, danger, hot sex, and plenty of witty banter.
Skye and Roman were throwing enough heat to burn down the town. I loved their flirty banter. After a lot of drama, we also got a great HEA. Kara just has a way of drawing you in. This was such a great story.

I had not read a story by this author , and decided to give this one a try. The story revolves around attorney Skye and former Marine, nowadays bodyguard, Roman Montgomery. They meet in a bar and after having sex in the alley, they go their separate ways. Imagine their surprise when they meet again. this time in court. While Skye is not happy having to deal with the client, one she was forced to represent, the Montgomery family is fighting for the land rights. From Roman’s observations, something is not right. Suspicions are confirmed when Skye is threatened and he is determined to keep her safe. This was a story about family, and a chance at love. Not having read any of the previous stories, I did feel at time that I was missing out on not having read them. Still, it was an entertaining story. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Roman Montgomery is the mayors body guard. He is ex military and he keeps his cards close to his chest.
Skye is a lawyer that came to a small town to watch out for her father. He is a drunk and a gambler. He doesn’t make the best choices but he is the on,y family Skye has. She is trying to figure out how to get her father to be a better person.
Roman and Skye both wind up by the bar in a little small town bar. They start talking and sparks fly. The next thing they know they are all hands in the alley beside the bar.
This is not something that Skye would normally do but there is just something about Roman. Alley sex is not the norm for her.
This book starts out pretty spicy but it has a lot of substance and really interesting twists. This is book three of the series and is totally worth reading!

This book by Kara Kendrick is about Skye and Roman. My entire emotional register was engaged when I read this book. Skye is threatened to take a case where the town's bad boy (Jagger Capelli0 want to take over the Seaglass Inn. They believe that their family is entitled to own it. The Sunglass Inn is owned by the Montgomery family and has been for many generations. Skye begins to question whether everything Jagger Capelli says is true, so she tries to get exonerated from being Jagger Capelli's lawyer. She has had a one night stand with Roman Montgomery, so is she incompetent or??? Will Skye and Roman get together? Will the Montgomerys keep the Sunglass Inn? Will Skye still be a lawyer? All this can be answered by reading this book. I can only recommend to start reading this book.
Skye meets Roman Montgomery at a bar after a terrible day and they hit it off. Their chemistry is off the charts and they have a great connection until Roman finds out that Skye is the lawyer for the Capelli's. Roman doesn't know that Skye has been forced to be the Capelli's lawyer. This story seems to have everything, intrigue, excitement, really creepy bad guys, the Capelli's if you haven't guessed already, and Skye who loves her dad not matter what he is. I loved this story, it's fast paced, steamy and hot, couldn't put down once started and Roman and Skye are a great couple. I've loved this whole series and am excitedly waiting for more. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.
Loved being back at Seaglass Beach with all the characters that I have come to love. Of course, there are the ones you just hate and know that as you read through the book there is going to be drama and danger. Unrivaled is one of those books that have you hooked from the first chapter. Boy did Ms. Kendrick give us a storyline that had me sitting on the edge of my seat and wondering what was going to happen next. A chance meeting at the local bar and a sexy hookup see Skye, a lawyer, and Roman, a bodyguard, meeting one more time in court. Skye is blackmailed into helping out one of the most notorious evil families in Seaglass, the Capellis. The only problem is that she is going against the man that has been on her mind, Roman her hookup. He knows there is more there than meets the eye but there is a pull that he is fighting hard to ignore. Skye has to make difficult decisions that will either see her possibly lose the man that has invaded her heart and mind or worry about her only family member that she has left. How could she live with either one? Being a small-town romance this book was full of suspense and chemistry that was off the charts. The instant connection that Skye and Roman had was something that was too hard to ignore. I highly recommend picking up Unrivaled and getting engrossed in Skye and Roman's HEA.
Who would have predicted what a bad boy Mr. Marine is?! Not this girl I'll tell you that much. The quiet brother is fighting for his family land and has no time for something serious. Enter Skye to change all that. She get in trouble wanting to help her dad. And when she got tangled with Roman she had no idea what lies ahead of them. There is some commotion before everything comes into place and they ride off into the sunset.
But now I'm dying to see what the hell happened between the oldest Montgomery sibling King and their nemesis sister Juliette. I'm not sure when it's release day is but... Is it here yet?!

Roman and Skye hook up and the next time they see each other they are on opposite sides of a court room. Skye is the lawyer for Roman's family's arch enemies the Capelli brothers. However, Roman cannot understand why Skye would represent them but she is trying to help her father. As Skye investigates further she realises she has to withdraw from the case. However, in doing so she receives threats to her and her father. A touching, hot and steamy story as Roman and Skye get together and try and solve her father's problems. An added twist for Roman's family which I hope to learn more about in the next story in the series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Unrivaled starts off spicy with an intense back alley scene. The chemistry between Roman and Skye is heated from the start and doesn't stop there until the both realize the are on the opposite sides of a land dispute case. Skye is forced to defend the Capellis's, known for being the bad gus in small town Seaglass Beach, and Roman is part of the Montgomery family fighting for his family's land and inn. Skye is now the enemy and tension simmers between the two as Skye does what any great lawyer does and defends her client even if it kills her emotionally.
Book tropes: * Rivals to lovers * Family secrets * Surprise pregnancy * Alcoholic parent
Special thanks to Kara and Foreword PR for this ARC!
Skye and Roman have an extremely intense sexual chemistry from their very first meeting! Their background couldn’t be more different: she only has a deadbeat dad and he has siblings who share a very strong positive family history. There’s some danger, drama, and misunderstanding that creates friction between Skye and Roman.
Kara Kendrick’s setting is beautiful, her characters in this series are entertaining, and the dialogue is sexy, intelligent, and engaging. The scenes are passionate with tons of heat and they’re not afraid to ask or show what excites them. I love how protective Roman is and how they communicate with each other. The epilogues and bonus chapter is really heartwarming!.

Ms Kendrick once again offers a master class in storytelling!!!
This just pulls you in from the first page. Ms Kendrick once again offers a master class in storytelling… Captivating!! I read it in one sitting desperate to know what was going to happen next, and while I didn't want to finish the book so quickly I couldn't put it down. The chemistry lights sparks between these two characters that just arc off the pages. And the right amount of drama between them, just made everything so much more fun to witness as they come to their HEA Absolutely loved it. My favourite in the Seaglass Beach series. This is a definite must-read that you won’t want to miss out on. Happy reading
