He is the most ruthless mafia boss in the city, and I just agreed to work undercover as his cook.I’ve never met Giancarlo Rossi, but I’d be a fool not to believe the stories. I also believe he killed my boyfriend. I just have to prove it. So, when a client needs an insider in Giancarlo Rossi’s home, I jump at the chance to search his private rooms. Except, I am thwarted at every turn by his grandmother, sister, and even Rossi himself. His love for his family and kindness toward me confuse me. My heart races whenever he gets close to me, only I don't think it's out of fear. She’s only been here a few weeks, yet I can’t get her out of my head. She doesn’t belong in my world. But every time I look at her, I fight my body's impulse to make her mine. When my family and I suspect a rat in our organization, all eyes turn to her. I can't believe it because if it's true I know what I must do next. ENVY contains language and scenes that may not be suitable for all audiences. absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. loved the story line of this romance it was more dark and filled with conflicts instead of love. Giancarlo a member of the mob who is danger and we are supposed to hate however he is so caring, thoughtful, and fierce. Natatcha’s ex boyfriend recently passed away and she is trying to find out exactly what happened. She is a private investigator and her dad has put her on the job of being Giancarlo’s “chef” to find out more about the baseball he stole from the Crawford brothers. Despite the conflicts these two are faced with, love brings them together!

I can't believe that Giancarlo was related to the Crawfords. HEA is bizarre. I don't see how these 2 worlds would work together. How they could even function as a family. A mob boss was too far a reach to be a smooth fit. I was disappointed that Rossi wasn't CIA undercover. It would've made a lot more sense for the family to work out their disoriented and problems. I enjoy the hell out of Eve Marian books and series. I felt this particular series conclusion was forced.

The whole series was a pretty easy and enjoyable read. The author definitely improved their style throughout the writing of the books but occasionally the plot felt rushed or slightly underdeveloped. They were wildly entertaining, however, and I found plenty of enjoyment while reading them. They have a simple plot with a predictable formula for conflict and conflict resolution. The final book has a decent plot twist I did not predict. Overall, mostly simple but pleasant books to read.
I’m so torn on this book! On one hand I love Gianni because he is fierce, loyal, caring and loving. But on the other he’s a monster and a mobster who does horrible things. I also feel the same about Natacha. She’s fiercely independent and knows that he’s bad for her but she can’t stop herself. On the other hand she seems weak for giving in to him. I don’t know…so many conflicting thoughts.
I love this series but Envy has got to be my favourite. I love the way Marian weaves the billionaire romance with the grittier plot of the mafia theme. If before you didn’t know if you can love Giancarlo, Natacha shows you he’s worth every moment you’ll be glued to your kindle!!
Not dark romance, but romantic. Good book, but I feel like it ended on a semi cliffhanger with one of the plots. Didn’t really get closure on everything. Otherwise, good book. Kept me engaged.
