Love this book! The daughter is wondering what could be her mother's most thankful thing throughout her life. So, she pulls out her mom's scrapbook, and they look through all her memories. The mom denies all those memories as her most thankful, and the daughter is confused. The mom then pulls out her baby book to show her that she is the most thankful thing. I love the illustrations in this book. The layered pastel colors really pop on the black background. I also like how it seems as if the audience is looking through the scrapbook with the mom and daughter. It is fun to gain a background of the past-life of one of the older characters. Even though this book is targeted to only a specific audience, I definitely think this book is underrated! Would highly recommend it (maybe not for a classroom but definitely for a mom and daughter duo)! It is super cute!

This book is about a Daughter who is wondering what her Mom is most thankful for in life. The Mom pulls out her scrapbook and together, they look at all of the Mom's memories throughout her life. Her Daughter asks after looking at every memory if that is what her mom is most thankful for. Her mom says no every time. The mom then pulls out her daughters baby book and says she is what she is most thankful for. This book would be a great book to read as mother and daughter to remind your child that they are the most important thing to you, and that they are loved and valued. I also enjoyed the illustrations in this book. It is as if the audience is looking at each page of the scrapbook while reading. This would especially be a good book to read during Thanksgiving time. However, I would not recommend reading this book to a classroom, as every student has a unique home life!

This book demonstrates an idea of being thankful to young children. Each page ends with the same phrase, "was that the most thankful thing?" This is good for a young child because it becomes a familiar theme as the story unfolds. The placement of the text on the pages is creatively thought out, allowing a child to engage and keep interest. Another supporting factor for a child's entertainment is the bright, big illustrations on each page to support the story line. They take up the entire page without interfering with the text. The vocabulary has a range of easy to more challenging words for this age range. The book introduces an idea or concept of gratitude in an appropriate manner.

A great book on gratitude, love and expressing the same. The illustrations are just perfect and the story is crafted wonderfully as well . A woman’s journey through all her stages and motherhood being one of them. This book is an all time hit at my home . And it’s also our Valentine’s Day pick for our storytelling sessions. Love and gratitude go hand in hand and hence it’s a must have for kids . Booksandexperiences gives it a 💕💕💕💕💕 rating .

Thanksgiving 2017. Sweet story about a little girl trying to guess her mom's most "thankful thing." This book was a little long for my preschoolers.

Full disclosure: I don't have kids so I can't speak about this book as a parent.

That being said, I did not like this too-sweet story about a mother's most amazing thing. A young girl asks her mother about her 'most thankful thing' and the two flip through the scrapbook. They revisit the highlights of her mother's life (a very clean, edited version?) and at the end, the mother assures her daughter that she is the most amazing thing. In addition to being too sweet, it's also pretty mom focused. I'm not sure that young readers will appreciate the idea that parents have a whole life in addition to being, you know, parents.

If you like this story and if your child likes this story, that's very sweet. But it's not one that I personally like and it's one that I'll skip for the elementary school collection.

This redheaded mom pages through old scrapbooks documenting all the happy, exciting, fun, and fulfilling moments of her life pre-baby. In the end, though, she assures her child that no matter what happened or could have happened (including becoming famous and earning a trillion dollars!) that nothing could have come close to topping how thankful she was when she held her baby for the first time. Delightful way to say, "You're more important, more loved, more cherished, more appreciated than anything in the world" to one's child. I loved it.

This is one heartwarming picture book about being thankful, and an excellent read to have during Thanksgiving. A mother and daughter go through a photo album as the daughter tries to figure out what her mother's most thankful thing is. It's such a sweet children's book, and my Kindergarten students loved reading it as a large group read aloud! I had them do a drawing a short writing piece on their most thankful thing, and the students put it all together in a class photo album. It was a great follow-up activity, and it is something the students will always have in their classroom library.

Mama is sitting quietly one morning thinking about all the things that she is grateful for, but there is one thing that is her most thankful thing. Looking through Mama's scrapbook, we find that her most thankful thing is not summer camp, soccer, playing guitar, prom, or many other things. Reading this book helps reflect and talk about things you might have done as a child, but also help your own children realize what is most important. The book is organized in a fun scrapbook style.

The gushing of the adults here tells me that this is another in the great awful tradition of Robert Munsch's "Love You Forever".
In another words, books adults gently weep over with all the saccharine sentimentality adults can muster, while the kids nod their heads, wonder what all the fuss is about and wait for the grownup to read them something GOOD!

Not necessarily a Thanksgiving book, but a beautiful story about a little girl asking her mother what she is most thankful for. Mother reflects on important times in her life, culminating in the birth of her daughter. A goosebump/ahhhhwww book.

This book was way mushy and just didn't do anything for me. You could see the ending a mile away.

I gave it a two only because my baby liked the pictures.
