Monsters Night

Their Pretty Little Monster

Rate this book
In their arms, danger becomes desire.

Every year, monsters demand their Offerings—women like me. This year, I thought I escaped. I thought I was safe. Then he arrived.

The Viscount.

Dangerous and ruthless, he declares me a late Offering.

Swept into the deadly realm of the Shadowfen, I realize I’m not here by chance.

They want to rule, and I’m their key. My reality crumbles, and as much as we act like enemies, they refuse to let me go. Their touch ignites a fire I can’t resist, fueling desires I never expected.

They call me their little monster.

Maybe they’re right.

Because when everything is stripped away, a fiercer side of me no one expected—not even me—emerges.

You see, in the shadows, temptation and peril collide.

So, ready or not, the monster within is about to be unleashed… and these three Shadowfen are eager to claim their prize...

Me…

Their Pretty Little Monster is a standalone paranormal romance with darker themes, enemies to lovers, a sassy heroine who comes into her own power, and three stubborn Alphas who aren’t releasing her.

4.75 stars!

Their Pretty Little Monster was epic, steamy and unpredictable in the best ways. Sage has always been different and she feels that keenly on a daily basis in her village. Little does she know, her world is about to implode and everything she thought she knew will come crashing down around her.

If you’ve read Their Lethal Pet then you’re at least a little familiar with this world (although you can read this without having read that story). When the Viscount overseeing her village claims her and takes her to his world she’s tossed into a war where she is at the center.

Killian knew the moment he laid eyes on Sage that she was the key to a plan him and his Shadowfen best friends had been planning to take back what was rightfully theirs. Having searched for Sage for a long time, Killian, Wolfe and Nyko never expected to find their true mate in Sage. And that changes EVERYTHING. These Shadowfen are playing for keeps.

”You can’t deny what we are, Sage. And you can’t deny that you want this as much as I do.”

Sage has so much to learn about herself and her Shadowfen are more than happy to show her. All three monsters were unique in their own ways and loved Sage with possessive and primal instincts. It was hot! Killian was dominant, Wolfe was obsessive and sweet and Nyko was feral. I loved their brand of passion and the chemistry was off the charts even when they were fighting. Because what paranormal romance doesn’t have a little secrecy and scathing revelations sprinkled throughout.

”Oh, my pretty little girl, i would burn down this world three times over before I let any harm come to you.”

Sage was an incredible character. She was authentic and carried herself with ferocity and pride. I loved that Sage didn’t try to be something she wasn’t. She was strong but let her mates carry her too. A super well written and dynamic heroine.

This story had plenty of twists and turns and enough action to keep me saying “ok just one more chapter.” The RH steam in here was off the charts delicious and the world building was just enough that it didn’t feel overwhelming or superfluous. Huge fan of this story and can’t wait for what’s next!

3.25 stars. Sage, the female lead, has been raised in a human village by a single mum. When she’s approached by Killian, one male monster lead and recently appointed village leader, she’s wary. But Killian sweeps her away to another dimension, claiming she’s who he’s been looking for, as have Wolfe and Nyko, the other male monster leads. All three males are shocked to find Sage is their true mate, when they only needed her because her biology was going to allow them to reclaim Wolfe’s usurped kingdom. Now, determined to keep her safe, they need to develop a new plan…

This story is quadruple POV, and a fantasy, reverse harem, over-the-top erotic romance. I enjoyed Sage’s fierceness and resilience whilst being amused at her sensual susceptibility to her males. I enjoyed Nyko’s lack of boundaries and his playfulness. I appreciated Wolfe’s sense of responsibility, and Killian’s focus. I also enjoyed their total commitment to Sage once they recognised her importance to them. Whilst I enjoyed the premise of the plot, and I can coherently state what it was, I struggled somewhat with the execution. The intimate scenes were coherent, though laughably over the top, but I struggled to engage well with the rest of the story, finding it a little disjointed in places. Since this IS an erotic romance, if you’re reading primarily for that, this story may be exactly what you’re looking for.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Monster men…and more?
This was an interesting read especially as there are lots of different tropes mixed together in this book. It’s got paranormal/fantasy vibes in terms of the world setting, such as the other worlds and I loved the Howler and the ship that brought a unique aspect. 😃The plot itself is based on revenge over the rule of a kingdom which although a generic story had some good points to it such as the wondering what the role of our FMC would be. There are some solid spicy scenes as well with some unusual monster aspects 🍆 😜 each of the monster men were different to each other which made them stand out but they all had that key possessive instinct 🥰 enjoyable read overall.

This was a super interesting and dynamic RH monster story! Killian’s world is unlike anything else you’ve read. I loved the details it really made me feel immersed in the story. Sage is a great FMC who is full of surprises, even to herself. She’s fiercely loyal and very loving so these monsters are incredibly lucky to have her. I love that this was a standalone that had a fantastic plot that kept the story moving.

As someone who also gets seasick, I can appreciate Sage being unsure and wanting off the ship they were one for the majority of the book. I too would be questioning if the ship was actually steady and not going to collapse under me. Not that that's really relevant to the story, but I felt for the poor girl.

In any case, I enjoyed the book. I don't think this is really a spoiler, but just in case--- I also really enjoyed Sage's growth in the book. She's someone who has been alone---with the sole exception of Alina and her mother---for her whole life, and naturally is terrified when Killian first takes her to a new world, a world filled with monsters, no less. But over time, she comes into her own and she's able to overcome her self-doubt and her reluctance to engage in conflict when the need rises---especially when her men are threatened or in danger.

It was a great read and I can't wait for the last in the series.

Awkward, trite, and squicky

I loved the first book in this series by Lexi C Foss, but unfortunately, this one by Mila Young did not live up to the same level of quality. At times, it was rushed, and the characters lacked depth. Their conversations and inner monologues were awkward. There was also a scene with the FMC in Chapter 20 involving a distinct lack of consent (e.g., non-con aka SA) that was not warned and was later romanticized and brushed past. Unconscious characters cannot consent; there is nothing ‘dubious’ about that. It’s a shame because Lexi’s book made me so interested in the FMC’s story, but this was a disappointment.

Monsters Night continues with the second book, Their Pretty Little Monster and it was amazing. I'm really loving this series.

The characters were great, I liked Sage. She was way braver than me because I would have died from starvation alone if I had been put in the same situation, haha. But Sage handles things fairly well and I'm not just talking about the food. I liked the guys, Killian and Wolfe were great and Nyko is my little psycho but they messed up from the start. I'm just glad the story wasn't too angsty. The guys are very committed to Sage and it just warms my little heart.

From the moment that Sage, with her silver hair, was mentioned in Their Lethal Pet I knew she had to have a story and I wanted to know it. However, I have to say I wasn't expecting this. TPLM is monster romance meets fantasy meets science fiction, with a bit of a pirate tale, it's a weird little mash-up but works. The science fiction part is what threw me at first because I don't really read what through me at first because I don't really read too many books in that genre but it was good.

The story kinda reminds me of those tv series (that I love so much) that air on the Syfy channel. The backdrop was awesome, Mila described everything in such great detail that it was easy to picture the Shadowfen and their floating palace. If you're looking for steam then boy does this book have it and more. The plot was good, there were royal politics at play and a bit of danger. I was certainly entertained.

Their Pretty Little Monster kind of took me by surprise it but was awesome. As far as I know, there's only one more book left and that's Their Blood Queen by JR Thorn but I would love it if more books were added to the series. If not then maybe one more book (or novella) where Sage and Alina meet up again. I'm just not ready to let this series go yet.

Their Pretty Little Monster by Mila Young is book one in the Monsters Night Series. Oh my gosh this book has everything I could ask for rolled into one… Why choose, enemies to lovers, darkish elements plus it’s a paranormal romance. I was addicted before I finished the first chapter, it’s over 500 pages so make sure you put some time aside because you’re not going to want to put it down. These characters were written amazingly, I loved Sage. I enjoyed watching her grow and develop going from nervous and apprehensive to someone stronger and braver. Loved the love interests as well… Killian, Nyko and Wolfe they each had their own personalities and quirks but were so supportive of Sage. Reading her open herself up and understand herself was truly a treat. Don’t even get me started on the spice, it was spicy. I’m surprised my kindle didn’t start to overheat. This was a wonderful story that I absolutely enjoyed, the writing was great and the plot just had me going for more. The book descriptions was a favorite because I could imagine this world with perfect clarity. Huge fan of this book and author, would definitely recommend in reading it. Two thumbs up!

Any girl who loves tails needs to read this book 🔥.

Mila has done it again with the tail but to top it off there is also split lounge, double dicks, shadowfen. What more can we ask for.

Violence, abduction, fantasy, paranormal, mind talking, killing of father figure (off page), unknown sibling, fated mates, why choose, strangers to lovers, fast burn 🔥, spicy 🌶️.

What happens when you don’t know your part monster, who your father is or that you have a sibling. And to top it off you have been abducted to originally get your unknown father to give up his kingdom but you are also a fated mate.

With 3 fated mates and someone trying to kill you as you turned plans upside down, you do what you can and with help you find out what your powers are and use them to help the kingdom become what it should be.

"Their Pretty Little Monster" by Mila Young is an absolute thrill for anyone who loves a bit of beastly romance! Sage thought she dodged the bullet when it came to becoming an Offering, but nope, the Viscount had other plans. Swept into the dark and dangerous world of Shadowfen, she quickly realizes she’s not just any Offering; she’s the key to these monsters’ rule.

Killian, Wolfe, and Nyko are stubborn Alphas who refuse to let Sage go, and honestly, who could blame them? Sage’s journey from a reluctant captive to a powerful force of her own is intense and satisfying. The chemistry between Sage and her three monsters is scorching hot, and the push-and-pull dynamic keeps you hooked.

This standalone paranormal romance is packed with darker themes, enemies-to-lovers tension, and a heroine who finds her own strength in the most unexpected ways. If you like your romance with a side of danger and a lot of growling Alphas, this one’s for you! 🖤💥

A good plot with 5 star smut!

The book follows Sage who you will recognise from Their Lethal Pet though it is not necessary to read it first.

I loved how the story started with Sage being a bit meek and unsure about herself and everything and how it developed with her personality. She really grows into a strong character and finds her footing and assertiveness.

The world building is not too overwhelming and is integrated well enough into the main story. I loved the overall plot line and the twists kept me saying 'just one more chapter before bed' until I'd stayed up way later than I should've.

The smut was off the charts and I absolutely loved it! The MMCs monster forms add even more spice to this book and Sage was living everyones dream.

Definitely reccomend this book and series.

Omg this book was so good. If you read TLP, you'll be familiar with the FMC Sage as she is Alinas' best friend. I had a feeling she would get her own story with Alinas' last observation of her before leaving the village. The story was written very well, and the MMCs are just perfectly psycho, loyal, and delicious 🤣 The spicy scenes are top tier! I will say though if you're not used to monster romances you may want to check first cause spicy scenes are monstly with the mmcs in monster form 😉 I absolutely love the tails and "unique appendages" 😈 I can not wait to read the next book!

Loved this book

I am really enjoying this world. Each story is hot, sexy and gives you a happy ever after. In this amazing one we get to learn more about Sage and her monsters. Sage never quite fit into her little village and she's about to discover why that is. The world of Blight isn't exactly rainbows and sunshine, but the monsters she meets will do anything for her. I couldn't stop reading this book once I started.

This was an enjoyable foray into the world of Monsters Night. This one is set after 'Their Lethal Pet', and in it we meet Sage, Alina's best friend. She turns out to not be quite as shy as Aliana thought she was as she takes on a lot of changes to her world, not least finding out who her father is, and that she has true mates!
She really comes into her own in this story and I love the different dynamics that all her monsters bring to the table.

2024:
I enjoyed this book - interconnected stand-alone.
It was different. It was spicy.
It was very much an easy, enjoyable read.
I loved the whole concept of Howler and would absolutely love to see some concept/fan art.
The spice was well written, and the relationships were great - a well-oiled dynamic of humour and fun.

Their Pretty Little Monster

A steamy why choose monster romance. The romance was a fast burn full of lots of spice and worship her moments.

I enjoyed the overall story with the monsters and the offering. There was also hidden royalty, kingdoms in peril, and assassination attempts to contend with along the way.

If you enjoy steamy why choose romance with monsters, spice, new world, touch her and X vibes, then be sure to grab your copy today.

Great series

I was so happy that Killian got his HEA after we met him in Blood Queen. This was a great series of connected stand alones with a HEA in all. All of them had a great plot, fantastic world building, and an amazing story.

Why is it that the most psycho men are my type? Should I be concerned? Cause even though Wolfe and Killian are top, Nyko does something to me….and Sage. From an early age sage knew she was different and was treated differently. And while Killian is looking for her to right wrongs, she’s just trying to keep her mother alive. Throw in some creepy water snake things, and skylars and this book is full of monsters. The steam from this book is chef’s kiss. I mean we don’t read these books for plot by itself. 10/10 would recommend for any monster lover.

Another one pleasant story from this universe, Sage was such a lovely character throughout. Her Shadowfen have been incredible as they nurtured her into this new for her world where not all is as it seems.
I am really having fun with this magical world and hopefully more is to come.

Their Pretty Little Monster👹

The next book in this standalone and multi author series Their Pretty Little Monster is now available and should not be missed❣️

Sage finds herself the next “chosen” to accompany their Village Viscount to be an offering for monsters🙈 She’s not sure what to expect but eventually she discovers truths about herself she never expected as well as acceptance and love from her mates🥰

I particularly liked the floating vessel she gets aboard in Blight and Howler🙌 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️‍🩹

This is a weird series in that I really liked the first book, didn't like the second as much, and this third was my least favorite. I couldn't figure out what was going on with the writing style, then I realized all three have different authors! I don't think I've read a series before where even though the overall theme is the same, the authors are different. AND it looks like they have their own spin-off series...

I didn't like the force themes here. CNC is ok depending on how it's done, but I just really didn't like any of the males and the FMC was just ok to me.

Nothing happens EXCEPT she’s pretty much forced into a mate bond. No romance. Just spice that feels slightly icky since she says no so much.
It’s pretty bad tbh.

The writing from this author is not as good as in the first two books. There were a lot of instances where it felt juvenile. This is the first series I've read where it's written by three different authors, and I think they did a disservice to this series by doing so.

I was not a fan of the non-consent aspects of this book, and it was brushed off and made light of throughout. The timeline of this book and how Blight is one month for every day on Earth is confusing as none of the other dimensions in the previous books were like this. It didn't fit well into this series.

I gave this one 2 stars because I struggled to finish it, and the writing style is not my favorite. At 70%, I began skimming the dialog just to finish.

Not as good as the rest in the series (spoilers)

There are huge issues with timelines between worlds. They keep saying one day on earth is a month in the monster world. Once you start doing the math, nothing adds up. The FMC's father would have had to be hundreds of years old and impregnated her mother before anything went down in Blight. Also, the three MMCs would have had to be on the ocean for hundreds of years if she was born after her father killed the king. Based on the writing in the book, none of those timelines work.

Because of this, and because it was a little more fluffy than the other plots, I'm at 3.4 stars.
