Her husband is married to someone else—or is he? Glenna Mitchell is done. With her horrible life. With the mistakes she made. And with her lying husband. How could he say they’d been married all these years when that other woman has a marriage certificate listing him as her husband—dated before Glenna even met him. He might say it wasn’t true, but who should she believe? Jeffrey Mitchell is ready to fight. To get his life back. To find out the truth. And to have Glenna, the love of his life, back by his side. But the evidence is against him. What that woman says can’t be true. Can it? When Jeffrey has a bicycle accident and is unable to care for himself, Glenna reluctantly agrees to bring him back to their house and care for him. As Glenna and Jeffrey spend time together, she realizes maybe she jumped to conclusions. She might need to give him a second chance. Might even still love him. Jeffrey has to take things slow when all he wants to do is grab Glenna and hold her tight—except his arms, with the cast and sling, are like T-rex appendages. When Glenna’s job takes a stalkerish turn after she finds discrepancies in the company’s books, she and Jeffrey are pulled into a conflict between the company owner, the FBI, and a hired killer. Will they find a solution before the worst happens? Will their love be rekindled, perhaps stronger than before? Are the other woman’s claims false?
Nancy J. Farrier grew up on a small farm in the Midwest amidst a close-knit family and a large extended family. She loved farm life including the animals, cooking, gardening and canning, but not so much the cleaning house part. A little-known fact is that she preferred to help with feeding cattle or mending fence than helping with housework.
In school Nancy often got in trouble in history class for hiding a fiction book in her text book to read during the teacher’s lecture. Or, she daydreamed her way through classes, writing stories in her head instead of paying attention to the teacher. English and Literature were her favorite classes.
Now, a best-selling, award winning author of historical and contemporary Christian fiction, Nancy lives in the Sonoran Desert of Southern Arizona and loves to research and include bits of history in her books. She often incorporates her love of the Southwest into her settings as the Southwest has a rich history that lends itself to fiction, and historical characters that come to life on the page.
The fourth book in the Driftwood Cove series, Glenna Mitchell and her husband Jeffrey Mitchell's second chance suspense story kept me turning pages. They will have to find out the truth and find a way back to each other. I enjoyed reading. I will be reading this series. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a great continuation of the series. Each book is a story of different people from Driftwood Cove. They are about how events effect them and the people closest to them. This fourth book revolves around Glenna and her husband Jeffery. They have a unique situation that teaches us about listening. I was given a copy of this book the review is my own.
Center Point - Turns out this is the fourth book in the Driftwood Cove Series, which placement did not matter. While there were a few brief mentions of the past, nothing was a rehash. The story is completely a standalone, which makes for an entertaining read.
Well written story lines with interesting characters, an interesting dilemma for the main couple and a wonderful supporting bunch of characters. A bit of battling with evil with the help of the FBI and local law officers adds some intrigue. God also played a main role, Himself. Source: ARC. 5*
Though my favorite genre is Christian romantic suspense, this book is not for me. I found the story slow and at times implausible. I didn't find that any of the characters behavior realistic in how they handled the 'marriage' issue. This is true for secondary characters as well as the main ones: Jeffrey and Glenna. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I quit reading the book halfway through it.
Because of the flowy writing style this novel was quite entertaining. The story line though seemed a bit far-fetched. It doesn't seem plausible that Jeffrey wouldn't have explained immediately who that woman is and how he knows her; and feeling so guilty about one drunken night in your life seems also over the top.
