When I first found out that Odessa Hywell was writing an omegaverse incest story, I lost my mind. Taboo? Incest? Omegaverse? Yes Please.
For nEver Mine is about an older Omega and younger Alpha, blood brothers who become mates.
We have Shiloh, who goes on a solo mission to rescue his older omega brother, who was sent to another pack. That pack is led by a power-hungry, abusive alpha leader who mistreats Riley. They are able to escape, but because of the pack bonds that formed between Riley and that Alpha, they can be tracked. An Alpha biting an omega can sever it, but that bite will also create a mate bond. They have no other choice, and Shiloh is not about to let his beloved brother be captured or have another Alpha do it. Shiloh and Riley try to resist the consequences that follow the mating bite but fail.
Shiloh and Riley are meant to be! They're just so adorable together and there's something about older omegas and younger alpha pairings that I just love.
One thing I really enjoy about Odessa's books is how sweet the relationship between the characters is. Like this is taboo, it's incest, but goodness, the way Shiloh is protective of Riley and how he respects him and cares for him made my heart melt. The constant touching, nuzzling, and need for them to be just near each other made me happy. I loved the sex, it's hot, it's really hot, and there is A LOT of it in this book (they're newly mated after all), but those moments of them being needy and borderline codependent got to me too.
While their relationship is of a taboo nature, there're not many issues from their parents or pack members. They're easily accepted and I adored how the pack stood behind Riley and Shiloh. The conflict and issues come from that abusive and violent Alpha leader (which is resolved rather quickly).
We get shifted sex too!
Also Riley and Shiloh relationship dynamic is interesting, and while it doesn't entirely fall into the traditional omega-alpha dynamic, I loved that Riley submits and defers to his Alpha when needed.
Overall I loved For nEver Mine. It ticked off many boxes for me, and I can't wait for the next book! I need Keenan and Ellis's book. I also need to know more about Jaiden and Locke!
Side note: I actually thought there would be mpreg...don't ask why I did but there's no mpreg.

My first official incest book! This one is between brothers. I had a ton of fun reading this book, and enjoyed the writing and story a whole lot. There is of course a lot of focus on the spice and taboo aspect, but I thought it was a very well done story in general. The entire premise sounded so interesting, and I literally ran to Smashwords to buy it as soon as my friend told me about it.
People look at him and hesitate to fuck around because they aren’t sure they want to find out.
I especially liked how, even though it *is* taboo, the shifter/pack life and history made it so it wasn’t too ‘bad’, for lack of a better word. Both MCs were sweet and likable, and distinct. I gotta say, the forbidden and taboo does really add a whole new flavor to the spice, lol. It was great.
“Love you. But I’ll choke you later like I don’t,” I whisper just for him.
My favorite thing with the book was the wolf shifter aspect. They actually spent a fair bit of time shifted, and interacted as wolves, and sometimes interactions between wolf/human. Scenting each other, cuddling, playing, pinning to the forest floor… you know, good stuff. I would love to read more books with this much time ‘shifted’.

This is probably going to sound so weird but I don't know how else to put it 😂 I've always kind of struggled to get my mind around ABO books and the whole heats, chain of command etc. even though I love paranormal romance, but adding in the brocest actually made it make so much more sense in my head!!! 😂😂
Shiloh and Riley had such a strong bond that I actually kept forgetting they were really siblings until they mentioned it again. I really liked their relationship dynamic and the way they were with each other. Riley isn't a typical Omega, and Shiloh isn't a typical Alpha and the respect between them is what made their relationship so strong. I also really liked their pack and the outward acceptance of their bond, it just felt like a comfortable environment?
I did think that the showdown with the feral psychotic Alpha did resolve a little too easily / quickly, but overall I really enjoyed this book! The world building was pretty detailed for a fairly short book, the cast of characters were easy to remember even though there's a lot of them... I just really enjoyed this and I think it's easily my favourite Alpha/Omega book that I've read.

Well, this was some taboo goodness! Shiloh needs to save his brother Riley from a POS alpha before it's too late and is forced to mate with him. From there, it just gets freaking hot! I love me some knotting, and there's plenty of that throughout the book. They have to deal with the aftermath of their decision to mate and make things right. I wouldn't have minded a little more conflict, but I really enjoyed this and look forward to Keenan and Ellis's story.

3.5 - 3.7⭐ because I'm optimistic about the books yet to come, but this book alone was a 3.5⭐ book for me.
I'm glad this author decided to tackle Omegaverse and since I'm a big lover of taboo stories and her Morally Ambiguous duet remains one of the best taboo stories I've ever read , of course I gave this book a shot.

Shiloh and Riley are brothers from the Carbondale pack. Shiloh is a 22 - year old Alpha, about to lead the pack one day and Riley is his 27 - year old older brother and an Omega, who's given to another pack as a helping hand, with his consent.
The book starts with Shiloh rescuing Riley from Alpha Garrett and his pack, because he feels Riley is distressed and Shiloh feels it, he also misses his brother and from that fear of them being found and Riley being taken away again, Shiloh bites Riley and they become mates.
They have a natural urge to solidify the bond, so they have to mate and while they're running away from Garrett, they have crazy hot sex and can't really think about them being brothers, since the urge is too strong .
These two were Shiloh and Riley in my mind. Shiloh is the top, shorter but more muscled type and Riley is taller, lankier and lying down. 😜
As the story progresses, we get bits and pieces of the kind of close relationship they actually had as brothers. It seems things weren't so brotherly at all, but the author doesn't elaborate further. Now, I know from reading her books that the incest part was always done really well, so I don't know what really happened here.
First of all, the book starts without any kind of prologue of telling us how they lived and grew up together, how close they were and how Riley was actually not your typical submissive Omega, but in their relationship it was actually the other way around, where Riley was the leader and had an upper hand and Shiloh, although stronger and outranking Riley, followed him and indulged him in pretty much everything.
That was said in passing in the second half of the book.
I think that because of that missing part at the beginning of this book, I didn't really feel the contrast of how forbidden the whole thing was between them, or how unprecedented , let's say, since as it turns out, nobody really had a problem with it, since the mate bond outweighs the blood bond in this Omegaverse.
I had absolutely no problem with that, especially since we'll obviously get more bro-couplings in this pack and it's good to know it's not frowned upon, but all the while reading this I just kept thinking how that sense of this relationship being forbidden or crazy at least, wasn't there. At all.
That's the whole point of taboo stories, the reader has to feel some angst about the MCs getting together, but I just couldn't feel it and they were just another couple to me. Just because the sentence "way more than a brother should" was thrown in there a couple of times, doesn't make it feel like they're doing something wrong.
The story was, however, well written and had good spice - and lots of it - so I can't say I didn't like it, but the main component should've been more prominent, should've been there in bold caps and steal your breath away for a while .
Hopefully Keenan and Ellis get more of it, but I'm personally more interested in Jaiden and Locke's story.
I hope the author continues and makes it a long series, I think it has potential, we're only at the first installment and I have high hopes (for this series).

Let me try to explain. If Riley were from a rival pack and not Shiloh’s brother, the story would have been more or less the same.
So yeah, not very taboo at all in my opinion. On the other hand the plot was rather good. And I genuinely liked the brocest and omegaverse crossover. It was definitely fun.
And that’s exactly why I’ll one hundred percent read the next book of this series.

Still not a fan of the omegaverse bio compulsion and categories, but this book was wholesome for being a taboo romance between brothers. It's not a big thing for them or their pack, so except for the subtle 'bothers who fuck' thing, it was like a regular sweet mate bite romance. I liked the soft subversion of the gentle omega and protective alpha. Can't wait to read about Ellis and Keenan.

I liked that this started off right in the thick of everything. We get to the moment that Shiloh and Riley choose to mate right out of the gates, which was enjoyable to me cause I didn’t particularly feel like reading a bunch of fluff to build up the tension.
Overall I really liked them together. They’re very cute.
All things considered this somehow managed to have an exciting storyline that is still low angst. I appreciated that the overarching plot wasn’t drawn out (i.e. left on a cliffhanger to be resolved in later book/s) and was resolved quickly.
That’s erotic taboo shifter romance for you tho, I guess? 🤪

Holy mother of Batman! There is just seriously something about taboo romances that get me, and Hywell never fails to disappoint. The closeness from Riley & Shiloh being brothers adds a certain extra layer of protectiveness and possessiveness to their dynamic, which is surprisingly sweet.

I liked this much more than I was expecting, based on my previous experiences with the author's writing. I suppose the elements of instalove/lust and forgiveness-for-all-toxicness that are present in her other works make more sense in the context of an omegaverse book, and when the MCs are brothers.
In terms of worldbuilding, I liked the way the alpha/omega dynamics were presented and the struggle between wolf and man, and also appreciated seeing Riley represented as such a strong omega in spite of them encountering a lot of traditionalist views.
This also has lots...and lots...of really hot sex. Very much in a the bond made me do it/physically can't resist way, which...nice. But they do settle fairly well into their relationship, and I liked the little comments from everyone about how they weren't that surprised they'd ended up bonded.
While I enjoyed the idea behind the thriller/action bit, it was very underwhelming.
As an aside, while I completely understand why (brothers), making male omegas unable to get pregnant from male alphas did not make any sense to me. How do they get pregnant then?
I've already got the next book lined up ready to go, can't wait!

I really liked this one even though it wasn't the kind of Brotherfucker™ shenanigans I've come to expect.
There was no angst about it. It was a pragmatic decision taken to keep one safe. I thought I'd miss the angst but then instead there was a beautiful story about subverting gender roles. Using the word gender very loosely here because I'm not sure if it applies within omegaverse if they're the same gender but different designations.
Regardless. This worked for me. And I totally called it re: Keenan and Ellis. They were protesting way too much to not secretly want it.

After a whole lot of whining and cajoling, Odessa's facebook reader group finally convinced her to give us an omegaverse book. Which just goes to show that if you nicely yet persistently pester an author long enough, sometimes you can change their mind, even if they initially say things like "this is madness" and "I'll never do it". 😈😈 And it's the start of a series!!

One of my favourite parts - besides the 'cest, of course- is the way Odessa gives us an unconventional relationship between the 2 brothers. The pack dynamics and roles of the pack members was nontraditional and I absolutely loved that. I literally cheered during the hotel scene where Riley speaks his mind. It was very refreshing and new for an omegaverse romance.

It certainly kept my attention as it was pretty non-stop. The character’s meshed well and created a lot of steam.
I do think the climax was kinda anticlimactic.

In typical Odessa style you get great chemistry and sex and a great storyline. Riley and Shiloh and how they mated was brilliantly done and there is no waiting to get the story going, you are thrown straight in.
I loved the plot and how the story went. However it didn’t to me feel very taboo which sounds strange but I think its because it throws you into their relationship so quick I didn’t see them as brothers. Its not a bad thing but in taboo I do enjoy the “they shouldn’t be doing this” feeling.
Great book, very enjoyable and I love knotting and mating so happy girl.

What makes taboo so delicious? I don’t exactly know, but I love it. Shiloh is really trying to do the right thing by saving his brother. He really is. But once that mate bite happens, there is really no stopping the momentum.
These two were extra spicy. I don’t know who was more needy: Shiloh or Riley. They couldn’t get enough of each other and the sex was super hot. I also liked that Shiloh was younger than Riley. Something about a younger alpha and an older omega just does it for me.
The resolution with the Gearhart pack was a little tidy for my liking but Shiloh kicked some serious ass so I can’t be too mad about it. I am looking forward to Keenan and Ellis getting their HEA as well. This was such a satisfying book and I really loved Shiloh and Riley together.

I was desperate for this book as an Omega is for their alpha! I found this book on my search for brocest books, looked & wanted. I'm so happy & thankful to Odessa for giving me a review copy when I messaged on bookstagram! Devoured this story in 6hrs! It's been released for a few days & y'all can get it on #Smashwords. This has become 1 of my favs & definite reread material!
This book popped a few of my cherries—Brothers incest book in omegaverse (shifter & no m-preg) I completed & 1st Odessa book, tho I've many on tbr & even more incentive to read'em!
It's low angst, so sweet & adorable. Alpha Shiloh & his older Omega brother Riley. Loved their characters. Shiloh is caring & stubborn. Riley is headstrong, sweet & doesn't take anyone's shit.
They tried to resist the mating bond - which S gave to protect R - but it was futile. Their love shines so bright. I loved getting to know'em & seeing'em settle into a relationship. And the sex, gosh f'ing DAMN, It is so HOT. Like STEAMY!! 🔥
The threat of rival alpha gave this a fun background tension & I liked how efficiently it's handled later on. I agree with Riley, Garrett is bad at being Villain 🤣.
At last, I loved their friends & family's reaction! The banters & Acceptance made my heart sing - you don't get to see that much in incest.

This is 100% a me thing, I went into this fully aware that this was a taboo book that was mainly smut. I KNEW THAT. I’m not the target demographic for this book because I’m not into the taboo stuff BUT, I like the stuff around the taboo, the intense emotions, the possessiveness, the co dependency. That all consuming need . Those things Im VERY into so sometimes I overlook the things I don’t like to leech onto the things that I do.
Anyway, this author wrote Always Oskar, which is also taboo and it would be on my favorite shelf if not for that fact, I loved it! So I was thinking I’d get similar writing here since it’s the same author but in a omegaverse space. But I think in this one it was mainly hitting that incest kink, so if that’s your thing then I’m sure it’ll be a great read ( it probably is your thing if you’re buying this ) BUT if somehow you’re like me and like the aspects surrounding these types of relationships instead of the relationship itself then I don’t think it’ll work for you either.
I was enjoying the sense of danger in the beginning but that was quickly resolved and then it just became repetitive. Repetitive thoughts about how they are brothers, they had to do what they did and then the sexing cos of the mate bond.
Also, Riley wasn’t abused by the alpha his brother is rescuing him from, he was isolated from the pack but that was it. I was expecting it to be a little more serious to have caused Riley to act so drastically, but again, that’s a me thing.
In conclusion, I paid $6 to learn that I’m not as good as overlooking things I don’t like as I thought I was. 🤔

Anyway, this author wrote Always Oskar, which is also taboo and it would be on my favorite shelf if not for that fact, I loved it! So I was thinking I’d get similar writing here since it’s the same author but in a omegaverse space. But I think in this one it was mainly hitting that incest kink, so if that’s your thing then I’m sure it’ll be a great read ( it probably is your thing if you’re buying this ) BUT if somehow you’re like me and like the aspects surrounding these types of relationships instead of the relationship itself then I don’t think it’ll work for you either.
I was enjoying the sense of danger in the beginning but that was quickly resolved and then it just became repetitive. Repetitive thoughts about how they are brothers, they had to do what they did and then the sexing cos of the mate bond.
Also, Riley wasn’t abused by the alpha his brother is rescuing him from, he was isolated from the pack but that was it. I was expecting it to be a little more serious to have caused Riley to act so drastically, but again, that’s a me thing.
In conclusion, I paid $6 to learn that I’m not as good as overlooking things I don’t like as I thought I was. 🤔

This was so good! The writing was great, the story was interesting, the characters were likable, and the spice was 😙🤌🏻 perfect.
I found this to be surprisingly low angst, considering the MCs were in danger for most of the story. The connection between Shiloh and Riley was so sweet, and mannnnnn did they have chemistry. I think this author is now gonna be a go-to for me!

I love a well written taboo book and I also love omegaverse so when Odessa surprised us with this book, I jumped so fast to get my hands on it! Oh man, the spice was out of this world hot!! If anyone can write the steamiest scenes, it is Odessa. Shiloh and Riley were everything I wanted to read and so good together. For an omegaverse book, it was very different than other omegaverse, and it was so refreshing to read! Not only was the relationship between them spicy but it was also sweet as well, lots of cuddling and cuteness going on to make it that much better! Overall I really enjoyed this read and hope the author writes more omegaverse!

Surprised to find that there is an Odessa Hywell book that I wasn't absolutely driven to finish. This was... fine? I can't think of anything particularly wrong with it. But I still struggled to finish. I'll probably read the next in the series anyways because that set up at the end sounded very entertaining, though!
