Digging The Director: A heart-warming contemporary romance set in Edinburgh
Palaeontologist Ren Bradley has lost her job and her boyfriend in the space of one week. Now she’s leaving behind her family and friends in London to start a new job in Edinburgh, for a gaming company. Ren knows nothing about gaming, but she does know dinosaurs.

Book review – Kobo e-books: Digging The Director by Jennifer Nice
Plot: After losing her job and boyfriend, palaeontologist Ren moves to Edinburgh for a fresh start, where she meets Harrison—and their growing romance faces both personal doubts and workplace complications.
Review: This was a very easy and quick read — I finished it in just two hours. The writing is simple and accessible, making it a perfect choice for readers who want something light that doesn’t demand too much concentration. The story moves at a fast pace and never feels heavy or overly detailed, which works well if you are in a reading slump or simply want something enjoyable and undemanding.
The plot is quite predictable, but honestly, that didn’t bother me. Instead, it felt comforting and entertaining, the kind of story you can relax into without overthinking. Ren’s fresh start in Edinburgh and her growing connection with Harrison are charming to follow, even if their journey doesn’t offer many surprises.
The characters themselves feel very ordinary and are not deeply developed. Normally, I would want more depth and emotional complexity, but for this kind of fast-paced romance, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment. What I did miss, however, was stronger atmosphere and setting. I would have loved richer descriptions of both Scotland and New York, as the locations had so much potential to add mood and texture to the story.
This was my first time reading this author, and while the book didn’t leave a lasting emotional impact, it was still a fun and pleasant experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a light, quick, and entertaining romance — especially during times when reading feels difficult and you just want something that reignites your reading motivation.

Nothing per se. Got it for free & its a good easy read with intense plot. I didnt expect it to be a smut read.
