6 short stories written by iconic Australian children's author Jackie French featuring horses.
I think this is my favourite book about horses so far. The short stories are mostly under 30 pages, which is a good length for the content, and French creates rich worlds featuring elements of historical fiction. The 6 stories each take place in a different time period and location, ranging from 4000BCE Ukraine to post WW2 Australia, and they all focus on relationships either with horses or between people where a horse is a major influence.
I highly recommend this book to pre-teens and teens interested in horses, as well as those interested history.
