Explains why and how successful learning occurs. It is a practical guide for producing confident, eager learners at any age, in any school. Peter Kline's ideas and his ability to apply them in practical, down-to-earth situations have already helped transform the lives of many children, their families, and teachers. The Everyday Genius is a great resource book for teachers to get ideas to use in the classroom. Written in the 1980s, in refers to a new idea of Integrative Learning (not Integrated Learning). In today's terminology, I see it as Personalized Learning, in a sense. It is focusing on teaching students with their interests in mind and then incorporating what they "need" to learn, standards-wise. It can be done, we do it! Many ideas, many reasons for implementing this approach.
This is not just a book for educating young children. it can be used to reform the current education system for the whole world. Amazing. underrated book.
One of my favorite books to help me remember that real learning is fun and happens everyday. I've read it 5 times in the past 15 years, each time highlighting it with a different color and gaining new insights. I recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy learning.
