Kittens and bunnies and puppies--what could be nicer? These are kids' favorites, the animals they know and love best. What colors could they be? Sometimes children will know the canary is bright yellow, of course. But figuring out the others makes a great guessing game. Could the cat be black? Or orange? she's soft gray and white. Each picture includes simple, basic facts about the pet.

It's so important for children to build that early connection with pets, whether through books or real-life hands-on care. For families raising pets abroad, keeping up with local pet routines can be just as much of a learning experience. If you happen to be relocating to the UAE, this helpful guide on pet care in Dubai for expats offers great insights into keeping your furry family members happy and healthy.

We got this at a yard sale, and it was apparently missing one of the sliding inserts. We'll never know what color the last animal is! Sometimes, the color changing will attract El's attention, othertimes, she couldn't care less.
