2.5✨

Honestly this should have been condensed down into one book. There was no reason to drag this out into a duet and then cut off the extended epilogue too. Made me read a bunch of nothing for 500 pages to cut off the conclusion lmao.

I’d been dragging on reading this the last day bc I just was not into it. I’ve read a million better versions of the same unoriginal story.

This woman’s pure dedication to resolving this man’s trauma is commendable. Annoying as hell and nearly my thirteenth reason…but commendable.

What an absolute drag. Literally.

This book was an overall dreadful follow-up to its predecessor, its pace sluggish and slow and (also like its predecessor) very uneventful (save for a few minimal exceptions). The moments that are meant to add excitement to the story end up just making it drag on even more, chapter after chapter after chapter. The slowness is a LOT to take in. Literally the whole point of this book is an extension of the previous book's point: to expand on the two main characters at a snail's pace so that you believe that their love is growing. Yet even then, I STILL can’t buy it. There's no action. There's no big thrills. Most of what exists here are dramatic conversations, many of them heated, long-winded, or repetitive. Even words from a child read very adult-like. My usual love for dialogue was powerless to save this story from my ever-critical eye, simply because it lacks too much of everything else that makes a story great. This ain’t it.

The Good: The read is still easy, just like the first book. The story thankfully picks up exactly where it left off, following the kidnapping of little Isla because her parents are both morons who cared more about having sex in a science classroom than they did chaperoning their 9-year-old daughter in a room full of strangers, even AFTER her own father was already aware he was being watched by his ex boss's henchmen. I mean, the stupidity of that event in book one was so astounding that I had a hard time getting over it for like the first 20% of this book. But I digress. There are a few surprising and shocking revelations, a couple of them not for the faint of heart. Character interactions are entertaining, despite being long-winded. LOTS of banter, which is a favorite feature of mine in books.

The Bad: Already mentioned it, really. There is literally nothing of much excitement in this story. Daniil is supposed to be this big bad Don of the Bratva but he seems more incompetent than anything. Nothing he plans seems to work right, even without the distraction of his budding love for his family. There’s no structure to his empire, no fleshing out of how Daniil even got to where he is in life. It’s just me being told that’s it’s a thing. The majority of this story is Kinsley and Daniil butting heads whilst learning more of each other's pasts, which I'll admit, was still pretty interesting even in their dark and brutal nature. I may love banter and fights and stuff, but my gawd, it's not enough to keep me going. Give me MORE than that.

The Ugly: The entire 3rd act was atrocious, laughably so. It was even WORSE than the cliché that it was, if that’s even possible. The detail was so anticlimactic that I thought I accidentally skipped some pages. It honestly seemed to me that the author was legit OVER it and wanted to just end the damn story already. It was rushed. Flimsy. Weak. LAZY. Now I'll be fair. It's likely that the extended epilogue (which needs to be downloaded via a newsletter) will close all loose ends, which is all fine and dandy, but to not include said epilogue at the end of the actual book (particularly after the mismanaged 3rd act) was just bad. BAD, bad. I don’t know if this was specifically for the e-book or what, the absence of the epilogue, but it was still unacceptable. I grumbled, rolled my eyes, and then promptly stopped caring. It was singlehandedly the BEST way to make me turn my back on a book indefinitely, a book that I was barely liking to begin with. I have no idea how Daniil magically ended up at the right place at the right time and I guess I never will.

Two-stars is all this thing got out of me, purely for the entertainment value I get out of dialogues and/or character interactions (namely from Petro, who managed to be my favorite character of them all). But as of now, I believe I'm done with any more books by this author. If you wanna read all my grumbling commentary, then by all means, click here.

Arrogant Mistake is the 2nd and last book in this duet. It picked up right where book 1 ended with Isla missing and Gregor causing problems. I was in two minds about the part of the book where Kinsley and Daniil are on the run looking for safe place to lay low. I understood the need for it but for me it slowed the book down somewhat. On the other hand it always gave the characters time to reconnect but it just took too long about it. Saying that I did genuinely enjoy reading it and the ending was exactly how I'd hoped it would go out. A good read

My review for both books of the duet: This was one of the slowest of burns when it comes to Fox’s books. At least the ones I have read. Sure the bump & grind happens right from the start. But years go by. Years. And even after they reunite, there is still an angsty hit and miss in the romance department. And this just isn’t in the first book. It keeps it up in the second one as well.

Just when you finally think things are working out for the best and they are making headway, Daniil speaks. And when he speaks he can be so cruel and vile. Then there are those times he doesn’t speak, doesn’t communicate, and it places walls around him and Kinsley. He is not the easiest person to love and I often found myself questioning if he was even worth her love.

Even with all of that and all that transpired, this duet consumed me and I flew through the pages. I quickly went to download the extended epilogue. I wanted everything they had to tell me. 5 Stars!

This picks up right where the last book left off and OMG!!! Daniil definitely comes from a screwed-up family! Kinsley is beyond livid when she finds out that Daniil knows exactly who took her child and does not want to do things his way to get her daughter back. Throughout this story we get to learn a little more about Daniil’s past, why Kinsley is the way she is and who Gregor really is and what he wants.

On the run to protect his family, will Daniil be able to take care of Gregor? Will Kinsley every stop wanting to “fix” everyone? Be prepared for a rollercoaster of a ride on this adventure as our characters do a lot of searching for who they really are and what it takes to let those walls down. Great story, great characters and I cannot wait to see what Nicole Fox has coming out next! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

2 stars, maybe 2.5.

I didn’t particularly enjoy the first book but I read this because of friend insisted you had to read both books.

Honestly, I felt like this should have been 100 pages less of them having the same conversation and argument over and over and over. Instead it could have used 100 pages of actual plot towards the end where the characters do a 180 flip and everything happening in the last 8%.

great story

Ok I loved this book / duet. Kinsley and Daniil are great characters with a great story . The reason I didn’t give this five stars is because I felt like everything got rushed at the end. I loved everything else about it. I read both book in one night . I couldn’t put them down.

I usually enjoy Nicole Fox’s books. This duet was no exception! I inhaled it. If you are a reader like me, that enjoys a MMC that fights with everything in him to resist the connection, then this duet is definitely for you.

Kinsley was not expecting that when she ran from her wedding, she was going to encounter a hot and dark stranger that was going to change her life.

Daniil tied his destiny with Kinsley when he decided to save her and no matter how much time passed or how much he resisted they were bound to crash into each other.

Wonderful second book, great story wonderful characters filled with action and intrigue

Daniil had taken his daughter to the father and daughter dance and that was when their lives had changed once again and that was because they had returned and their daughter Isla had been kidnapped and instantly and the only way to retrieve her from her abductor was by agreeing to give up his Bratva, however he had not been being honest.

Daniil, Isla and Kinsley are able to return to the small home the mother and daughter had shared all those years before they have no choice but to make a run so that they do not have to give up the Bratva to the man he left ten years aga and his name was Gregor Semenov and he will do anything to get what he wants.

As the small family all head from anyone they know they decide that they are all going to be spies and that they are all going to adapt aliases to help keep safe. They change their names to Jude, Alice and Rose and as Isla seems to be taking everything in her stride it gives the adults time to know each other and about the lives they had lived and this enables them to understand each other better.

As much as Kinsley has worked had to put a roof over her daughter’s head and food on the table with clothes on their back, it may be basic be she has worked hard to be a teacher and her daughter is so special she has an artist within her soul and she is loved by her mother and her Aunt Em and this makes her happy.

Kinsley and Daniil are keeping some distance whilst they find themselves and it is essential that is she is going to become a Dons wife she is soft and naïve and yet when they are together, they heel so right and although they do not accept it they are stronger together than they are alone.

Then the time comes and Daniil knows that he has got to return to the man that is trying to take away everything he has built, he had always known that Gregor was evil and yet he had to have them tucked away safe before he took his retaliation and he would take everything that he holds dear, there can be only room for one Don Vlasov and it is going to be Daniil if he has everything to do with it and he had a daughter and a woman to keep safe and he wanted to make them his officially.

I guarantee that once you begin reading this story you will be blown way as it is such a riveting read…..

Kinsley had been on the run the night she had been beaten just prior to her taking her vows, she had then with the help of her only friend Em stolen the wedding car and had crashed and she had nearly drowned when she had fallen into the river and had been pulled out by a stranger that had also been on the run after escaping prison.

Daniil had told the bride beside him that he was on the run from prison after breaking out, he had been falsely imprisoned because he had stood up to his boss and this had been his way of trying to bring him back down to size, ready to obey his Bratva Don but he had refused and nothing would change his mind.

That night they had one interlude together and when she had woken the following morning, she had decided to find out more about him but when she had woken, she had found that he’d disappeared and left her alone on the side of the road with a little additional bonus.

Ten years later the pair quite literally bump into each other and Daniil discovers that he has never forgotten this woman and neither has she forgotten him. However, it is essential they bring out all their dirty laundry but it is not going to be easy and how exactly will Daniil feel about having a daughter that’s nearly ten years old.

There are many reasons this couple will need to stick together and now that their daughter knows that she has a Daddy and who he is that her love for him has been instant, they are all reliant on each other as they have no siblings or friends apart for Em who has been with Kinsley since they were childhood friends.

As the action and the adventure takes off it is essential that the couple and their daughter stick together and I guarantee that this is one Bratva Don you will never forget and their daughter Isla is wonderful and you will be like me looking forward to the second book in this series.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I have read a lot (a LOT) of books and I can't remember hating a character as much as I hated Gregor. Talk about total a$$hole, uncaring, sadistic, narcssistic... BLECH.
I thought this was a good conclusion to the duet, but it took a LONG time to resolve everything. I was 3/4 of the way through and started to wonder if this was actually going to be a trilogy because I didn't see how the author could possibly wrap up the story so quickly.
Even thought it was quickly, it was done well.
I love the way this couple got their HEA. I'm a sucker for epilogues and this book has a good one!
Well done, Ms Fox!.

This is book two in the Vlasov Duet and the first story must be read for it to really make any sense. The story picks up straight after the conclusion of the previous book and it’s fair to say you dive right in and the action never really stops. Isla is in grave danger having been taken by Daniil’s greatest enemy and and any common ground Kinsley and Daniil have achieved is rocked as he scrambles to secure their daughters safety. The one thing Gregor wants is absolute control of Daniil’s Bratva and Daniil himself, given all he’s done to escape Gregor’s grasp and achieve independence how can he best his father and ensure both of his girl’s safety. Previously Daniil was untouchable but now with two weaknesses…well now it’s a game of cat and mouse with Gregor to ensure Kinsley and Isla’s safety.

With Daniil taking his girls on quite the ride to keep them both hidden…while Isla embraces the ‘spy’ escapades Kinsley only sees the danger Daniil is bringing to their lives. Can they ever find common ground and build on what they started. While this book has a fair amount of drama and action that’s not all it is as they peel away the layers you can see the emotional toll of how their parent’s actions have affected and shaped both Kinsley and Daniil and how their upbringing has impacted on how they parent Isla. The trauma of their parents legacy could have far reaching consequences while there were some rocky instances I loved how both Kingsley and Daniil brought out the best in each other. Although Kingsley would no doubt want to smother Isla bubble wrap to keep her safe Daniil’s quiet attitude towards his daughter, drawing out her strengths really took this story to another level for me.

I loved how Kingsley was always challenging Danil and he relished that given his position someone was willing to go toe to toe with him. Daniil could be quite defensive at times and his quiet character could be mistaken for sullenness or arrogance on the whole he was just so watchful no doubt a product of the upbringing he had at the hands of his father. When secrets begin to unravel can Kingsley and Daniil see past these and move forward with their life together or will they tear them apart. The chemistry between Daniil and Kingsley was brilliant but there was an air of vulnerability especially about their past which elevated the story.

Whilst Daniil was willing to do everything he could to fight for his Bratva and see his father off he also could not see a life without Kingsley and Isla….could he really give in and turn his back on everything he’d fought for if it meant a life with his girls. This book had everything and more, I was thoroughly engrossed in the story, the characters were well written and the storyline just flowed so well. I loved Emma and Petro as well they added a whole other dimension with their banter and how they enhanced the whole storyline. The epilogue in particular had me rooting for another book from the Vlasov world!.

Daniil and Kinsley's Story

This is a review of the duet as the first book moved to the second book without the option of reviewing it.
This is a shorter duet than many of the author's prior duets. It includes the typical strong Bratva Don and a feisty female who has issues.
The book starts 10 years in the past. Kinsley Whitlow is a 19 year old hysterical runaway bride. Her fiance was abusive on the wedding day, and she fled, influenced by her abusive father's treatment of her mother. In tears, she has an accident, falls into a river, and is saved by a handsome stranger. He is a prison escapee, but she helps him evade the police. They have sex in the car, and he disappears without sharing his name.
10 years later, Kinsley and the fruit of their sex, 9 year old Isla, are living in a rented home that is a hovel, barely meeting her bills. She is a teacher at a private school, which her daughter attends, so her desperate financial position doesn't really ring true.
Meanwhile, the mysterious stranger is Bratva Don Daniil Vlasov. In the 10 years, he has built his own Bratva family, having left the Semenov Bratva after it's Don Gregor Semenov had Daniil falsely imprisoned for disobeying him.
The two meet again when Kinsley again has a traffic accident, swerving back into her lane, just missing a head-on collision with Daniil when he successfully evades her. He pursues her as he never forgot her. She never forgot him either, but she pretends to not be attracted, until he saves her from a physical emergency. They continue their verbal and physical foreplay and battles throughout the rest of the book.
Daniil has quite a backstory, which is slowly disclosed to Kinsley as their relationship develops.
Daniil learns about his daughter and develops an immediate strong relationship with her, drawing her out of her shell.
This is a good, solid story, with lots of unexpected revelations. It is one of the author's better duets.

OMG WHAT THE HECK?!

Picking up where Book 1 ends and OMG WHAT THE HECK?!
Daniil Vsalov has major dilemmas. The Don who tossed him into jail because he refused to bend, literally to him, is not only a vile, disgusting human being, but also happened to be his actual father. A father who is demanding that Daniil meld his Bratva with this father’s and eventually take command. Ruthless, heartless, cruel… he not only killed his wife, Daniil’s mother, but cut off her fingers and sent them to him in jail. Oh and he wants a relationship with Isla. As a result, Isla, Kinsley and Daniil go on the run…. To various parts of New England before landing in Lucerne, Switzerland. Both Daniil and Kinsley have to not only face their feeling for each other but must confront the skeletons in their own closets. Can that happen? Why are they still drawn towards each other after that brief encounter 10 years previously? Will he and Isla develop a father-daughter relationship? She is being bullied at her school. Can he help her to overcome? And will she willingly go to her father-daughter dance with a father she wants to know.
Nicole Fox takes readers on a whirlwind of discovery right along with all of the characters. We are not passive observers as these two bright, hopeful, disillusioned and loving characters have to learn to trust to survive and take advantage of the grand adventure they are now on. How will Daniil be able to protect “his girls”? Will Kinsley be able to overcome his truths? Truths he fears will keep them apart. The conclusion is not totally as the reader expected. Will they overcome plots/turns that Don Gregor has planned? Will Daniil bend to the will of his father? Is a true HEA in the cards? (Oh and definitely read the extra epilogue). A wonderful duet. And of course Petro and Emma make appearances.

This is the second book in the Vlasov Bratva duet picking up where book one left off but keep in mind buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, so gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!!!
Daniil still trying to get to know his daughter taking her to the father/daughter dance changing their lives because his daughter was kidnapped sending them on a chase like none other because the kidnapper wanted his bratva in return for his little girl. So getting his daughter back returning to their small home trying to stay one step ahead of the man who is trying to take what belongs to him and so getting aliases to try and stay safe but being a true dad, and protector of his family he knows putting them in hiding so that he can face their biggest problem he isn’t giving up everything he has built so facing it head own is his only option but where are they headed considering he was sent to prison as a lesson or he wouldn’t do what the boss wanted, now he has a daughter to protect will he keep them safe, will the madness of the man stop or will keep seeking power, and can they finely have their happiness and a little peace just for a moment?.

This story picks up right where Arrogant Monster left off where Daniil and Kinsley’s daughter has been kidnapped, Isla is gone, and she’s disappeared from the dance. Daniil knows immediately who took Isla, his enemy has discovered his weakness, and the enemy is trying to bring him to his knees. This a power play and Daniil play to win, and he’ll do anything to bring his daughter safely back home and keep them both safe. This book starts out fast paced and never stops as he rescues his daughter and tries to keep them both safe until he can deal with his enemy on his own terms. I love how Daniil and Kinsley start to bond, to do what’s best for their daughter, but Kinsley never lets up, she wants answers and the only who can give them is Daniil. He often goes on the defensive on her and fights back with words and actions that deeply wound Kinsley. He knows he needs to distance himself from her before she’s hurt and hates him, he needs to keep them safe from his enemies. A captivating story as Kinsley finds her life in shambles, her heart wanting answers, will trusting Daniil be the last mistake I ever makes? I love this explosive story as all of Daniil’s secrets come out, will he lose Kinsley as she learns all of his secrets, the truth? Isla needs a father, but will he stay or run away like before, can she trust him with her daughter’s heart too? I love there two friends Emma and Petro, they bring a lot to the story as the support Daniil and Kinsley throughout the two books, maybe they’ll have their own book too. Arrogant Mistake is book two in the Vlasov Bratva series - it completes the duet. If book one was like a romcom, this one is more emotional.

Book two picks up right where book one left off. A rescue mission is underway, then a trip to go into hiding. Kinsley and Daniil both have issues stemming from their abusive and distant fathers, but Daniil is intent on punishing himself for things that weren’t his fault. If Kinsley can make him see that the things he blames himself for were not his fault, things might work out between the two of them. Gregor wants Daniel’s Bratva, and he will stop at nothing to get it, including hurting the people Daniil cares about. With the threat of Gregor looming over them, Daniil takes Kinsley and Isla into hiding. While on the run, Daniil and Kinsley face their feelings — if they can be honest and stay safe, they might have a chance at forever.

This is a perfect conclusion to the duet. While book one had a lot more humor, this one is more emotional as Kinsley and Daniil examine their pasts and their feelings. Just as in the first books, Emma and Petro make perfect sidekicks who offer support with a dash of humor. Nine-year-old Isla is an amazing character, a little girl learning how not to fear. I love the story, the world building, and the relationships in this one. As usual, Fox offers tremendous writing and storytelling.

You definitely have to read part one of this duet, Arrogant Monster, before you read Arrogant Mistake, but you’ll truly love it. And there’s a great extended epilogue after you finish. Let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss.

This is the second book of Vlasov Bratva, and this is a continuous from the first book Arrogant Monster. This book was if not better than the first book, it was definitely a pages turner as well as cramps in fingers holding onto the edge of your seat there was so much action, suspense, drama, danger, enemies, fear, survival, intrigue, conflicts, confusion, strength, courage, threats, kidnapping, violence, trauma, anger, pain, arrogance, memories, guilt, healing, happiness, romance, passion, lusty, hot and steamy, luscious, sensual, and maybe or maybe not love. It has been ten years since Daniil and Kimberley have seen each other until they nearly ran into each other. He got the registration number and found out where she lived and paid for the car to be fixed aswell as the best insurance you could buy, when she found out she was ropeable and that was the start of them talking of them not thinking about them. Daniil was told you only protect blood not partners they are not blood. Daniil watched his father kill his mother his father only wanted was an heir and that was Daniil, he was traumatised and made it clear he can't love. Kimberley has a secret and doesn't know if she should tell him. It makes it hard they both have this connection and it has lasted ten years and never lessened. Can Kimberley show him how to love.

Arrogant Mistake picks up right off from the last book. This set of books was such an emotional and incredible journey! These two go through so much heartache, violence, betrayal, and forgiveness. They also have quite the sad stories from their childhoods. :( The chemistry between Kinsley and Daniil gets even more intense in this book.. definitely feel at though they bond through their trauma too, and try and heal together which I loved to see!

After Daniil finds out he has a daughter after reuniting with Kinsley after ten years, he wants to have a relationship with her and know everything about her. Isla struggles as she gets bullied in school and Daniil really wants to protect and make his daughter happy and fix the damage that's been done to Isla... to be her true protector. He takes her to the father daughter dance and their life gets uprooted yet again as Isla gets abducted. Daniil knows exactly who took Isla, as his enemy has finally discovered his weakness. However, Daniil will do anything to save her and protect his family, being such an incredible dad, you would have never guessed that he only just recently reunited with Kinsley and met his daughter.

This is the story of two soulmates that were shattered to pieces and together they became whole again. It is so so beautiful to watch. Just wish it was a bit longer though, like had another book as it felt like it was rushed.. but still PERFECT regardless! Definitely recommend picking up!

I always look forward to Nicole’s books, she’s always been one of my favorite mafia authors. I’ve always love both the heroine and the “hero”in her books, but I just wasn’t feeling Kinsley. She was naïve, immature, and entirely annoying throughout this duet. I didn’t like how for the ending of book 1, and most of book 2 she never thought about how Isla having a relationship with Daniil would be beneficial. It was just about her fears, and she was allowing her relationship with her father to dictate Isla’s relationship with Daniil, and was jealous of Isla’s relationship with Daniil.
There wasn’t much of a relationship between Daniil and Kinsley, they pushed and pulled right to the very end, and it was kinda disappointing. I enjoyed the story, I just wished it had more romance between the couple. Daniil kept her at arms length the entire time because of his troubled past. At the beginning he wanted to do everything for her, and even though he continued throughout the story, he wouldn’t allow her in. She pushed and pushed to get him to let her in, but he refused. I was hoping for more in book 2, especially with Isla tying them together. But I loved how when Daniil finally came to his senses, he was willing to give up everything for his family. And he was an amazing dad to Isla.

I KNEW IT!
It was over way to soon lol
Right when he finally chooses her, the book ends. You don't really get to experience their relationship once he's chosen her. There is the free download for the epilogue, which was super nice. But it wasn't the same.
She was so strong to take him lashing out and pushing her away without giving up and walking out like I believed she should. I thought her stupid honestly. Why take the abuse? She was trying to escape the cycle and yet she was allowing his mental abuse. Just because he didn't hit her doesn't mean it's not abuse. There are multiple kinds of abuse, and even though he didn't mean it and was trying to keep her at arms length, she didn't truly know it at the time and yet she still fought for him. She took the abuse. Then he actually did put his hands on her and the kid saw.... I mean - honestly she was able to walk away before, but this time she just acted like it was nothing. I understand the circumstances of what happened, but when you think about her past and how she was trying to get away from that, why would she put up with any of this stuff now?

But you know what - it all worked out. I love the 'surprise you have a kid' trope. I also love mafia tropes. So what's better than combining the two? Plus we got a protective alpha asshole SWOOON

Emma and Petro dating - I CALLED IT! I just wanted a book about it lol

Like Book 1, I read this one in a day.

I had difficulty putting this book down. It ruled my day, distracted me at work and when I was finally able to finish it, I felt it was a great ending (I loved the epilogue).

Daniil and Kensley are on the run. He needs to keep her safe and he does the only way he knows how. With no emotion and keeping Kinsley at arms length. I love that his relationship with his daughter blooms in this beautiful relationship.

My issue with this book is the constant bickering/fighting/arguing. Kinsley's constantly asking Daniil the same questions over and over and he gives almost the same answers every time. Then he begins to be hateful towards Kensley but she continues. It's okay for a while but it's PAGES AND PAGES of fighting. I'm talking 90% of the book. They don't even get to know one another, it's just reliving their pasts repeatedly. It got old and I ended up skimming through when they'd start up again.

The intimate scenes are tastefully done. It's not smut or erotica, thank goodness.

All in all this was a great series, wait, is two books a series? I can't wait to read about Pemma ;).

I love this author and look forward to reading more.

Too much build-up, not enough climax.

The entire book is them in hiding while she tries to chip away at his walls. She continually peppers him with personal questions about his parents and childhood, pushing him to his breaking point, and then getting her feelings hurt when he lashes out. The only part that makes it bearable is that she finally catches on to his predictable behavior of lashing out when she gets too close to the truth, and she stops being surprised by it - she actually leans into it.

Kinsley is definitely more naive than I prefer for an MFC, but the fact that they acknowledge it (and Daniil gives her crap for it or and over) makes it a bit easier to deal with, unlike in other books where no one bats and eye and we're supposed to just swallow the stupidity.

The final showdown is anticlimactic and over too quick. Old Gregor's stamina wasn't what it was chalked up to be.

Side note:
You wouldn't know it from reading a Nicole Fox book, but it is actually VERY easy for a woman to not get caught masturbating. These situations in her book always cause me so much anxiety and second-hand embarrassment 🫣

1. Abstain.. just don't fucking to it. 2. Abstain while AT HIS HOUSE, like wtf?
3. LOCK THE DAMN DOOR... maybe the pressure is so high that it needs a quick release, but flip the lock friend!
4. Be quiet! Especially don't MOAN HIS DAMN NAME LOUDLY

Let me start by saying that I enjoyed the writing, I love the dual POV style the author uses, and I am always happy when we get more than one book with a couple because we can invest a little more into these characters. The authors style of having two books for a story doesn't bother me, unless she leaves us with too many questions at the end like this story did.

The story carries a lot of "trauma bonding" attempts that take away from their own relationship, in my opinion. I understand Kinsley trying to get to know Daniil as a person and how his past has formed his present, but we didn't get to see them build something together.
The story had them on the run and the epilogue doesn't reveal much more about what happened between the time of the last chapter and then. I guess I was hoping for more of how they make their lives work without the obvious obstacles they faced with the kidnapping and his father, but rather the normal relationship obstacles adding when a father and daughter are apart for 9 years to it.

Still a great story with a HEA that I can root for.

Arrogant Mistake is book two of the Vlasov Bratva duet. The story begins in Book 1, Arrogant Monster. It's twisted, thrilling, and riveting. Book two picks up right where that jaw-dropping cliffhanger left off. Daniil father kidnapping his Isla from the school at father and daughter dance. Daniil father was the one who frame him and spent him to prison all because he wouldn't do what he wanted him to do. His dad is callous, violent, barbaric and vicious. Daniil is still at war with Gregor Semenov who had also wanted everything he had and he wants him to walk from him his Bratva. They're some much secrets and brokenness between these two that they it hard for poor Isla. Daniil will burn down the world and do anything once he found own that he was a father. Daniil enemies has found out that he now has weakness that they can use against once they found out about his daughter. Kinsley wishes she kept running because now her heart is broken. There was a alot going on in this story heartaches, revelations retaliation survival, love, adventure and more.
