I'm not going to finish this because I have a fear of Claude ending up with the racist, self-destructive, guy that uses and fetishizes him. Merri is the absolute villain of this story. When Merri is going to loose Claude for the first time he tells 'the love of his life" , who is black, he hopes he gets lynched. That's not something you come up with on the fly. He shows up years later and manipulates Claude into going to tryouts to save his own career. He goes on to sabotage Claude's chances holding his hand and hugging up on him infront of the homophobic team owner. At one point in the story he wishes he could cut Claude's skin off and wear it. None of this is romantic and the fact that Claude is tap dancing his way into this nonsense is vomit inducing. Was so excited about a black guy as a lead in a shifter romance only to be too disgusted to finish it. To find out it was written by a black man is the saddest part of all.

I’m so shocked at the the way the whole situation has changed. The way they handled this whole situation was very different but I’m glad they got the help and finally got their happiness they deserved.
